  • Diamondbacks' Paul Goldschmidt: Clubs homer in Saturday loss

Goldschmidt went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run and a walk in Saturday's 12-6 loss to the Marlins.

After the Marlins tallied five runs in the top half of the third inning, Goldschmidt cut his team's deficit to one run in the bottom half of the frame with his 36th long ball of the season. That home run matched his previous career best from 2013, when he also drove in a career-high 125 runs. With 120 RBI on the season, Goldschmidt will have a good chance to establish a new personal best in that category with seven games remaining on the Diamondbacks' schedule.

  • Jose Abreu 1B | HOU

White Sox's Jose Abreu: Reaches 100 RBI

Abreu went 1-for-4 with two RBI in Saturday's 8-2 loss to the Royals.

With those two runs knocked in, Abreu now has 100 RBI for the season, becoming the third player in major-league history to begin his career with four seasons of 25-plus home runs and 100-plus RBI. Abreu's production has dropped off in successive seasons since his impressive rookie year in 2014, fueling a perception that his name carried more value than his numbers. His 2017 season, a season in which his HR/FB ratio and isolated power ticked up, puts a halt to that conventional wisdom.

  • Carlos Santana 1B | ATL

Indians' Carlos Santana: Undergoing tests on shoulder

Santana is getting an X-ray on his shoulder and likely won't play on Sunday, though manager Terry Francona doesn't appear concerned, Zack Meisel of The Athletic Cleveland reports.

This appears to be precautionary, but it's good to keep an eye out for the results and Santana's status before setting weekly lineups Monday -- if fantasy owners' leagues allow it.

  • Braves' Freddie Freeman: Dealing with illness

Freeman will not be available for Saturday's game against the Phillies due to an illness, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

It seemed initially that Freeman was being held out Saturday after a long run of consecutive starts, but it turns out he is under the weather and was sent home for the day. The Braves are hoping he will be able to return to the lineup Sunday.

  • Braves' Freddie Freeman: Rare day off Saturday

Freeman is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Phillies.

Freeman has started every game at first base since Aug. 1 and is 7-for-21 in his career against Saturday's opposing starter Henderson Alvarez, but manager Brian Snitker decided it was time for a day off. Matt Adams will get the start at first base in Freeman's place.

  • Yandy Diaz DH | TB

Indians' Yandy Diaz: Seeing drop in playing time

Diaz is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Mariners.

Diaz started regularly at third base for most of the month, but he will open on the bench Saturday for the fourth day in a row while Giovanny Urshela gets another start at third base.

  • Matt Olson 1B | ATL

Athletics' Matt Olson: Launches 24th homer Friday

Olson went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Friday's 4-1 win over the Rangers.

Olson's September tear now has him at 13 home runs and 22 RBI with plenty of opportunities to add to those jaw-dropping numbers before season's end. The slugging rookie has gone deep in six of his last seven contests, although the round trippers have served as his only hits over that span. He also has only one other extra-base hit outside of the home runs this month.

  • Diamondbacks' Paul Goldschmidt: Scores three runs Friday

Goldschmidt went 2-for-3 with a double, two walks and three runs in Friday's 13-11 win over the Marlins.

Goldschmidt mustered only one multi-hit performance through his first 13 games of September, but he's now turned in back-to-back two-hit efforts to bring his batting average above the Mendoza Line for the month. Even when Goldschmidt isn't piling up the hits, he's always capable of scoring plenty of runs for fantasy owners thanks to his patient eye at the plate. In the midst of what's been a disappointing month, Goldschmidt is still running an excellent 9.2 percent walk rate.

  • Diamondbacks' Christian Walker: Hits first home run with Arizona

Walker swatted a pinch-hit solo home run in Friday's 13-11 win over the Marlins.

The home run was Walker's first in the majors since 2014, when he received a cup of coffee with the Orioles. Prior to being promoted to the big club earlier this moth, Walker displayed major power with 32 home runs and 75 extra-base hits for Triple-A Reno, but his contact issues have thus far from prevented him from gaining much traction at the big-league level. It's unlikely that Walker will pick up consistent at-bats over the final week and change of the regular season with the Diamondbacks aiming to solidify playoff positioning.

  • Yuli Gurriel DH | SD

Astros' Yulieski Gurriel: Powers club to victory

Gurriel went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run during Friday's win over the Angels.

The 33-year-old Cuban has posted a solid fantasy season with 18 homers, 72 RBI, 65 runs and a .299/.330/.488 slash line. Gurriel is receiving consistent playing time, and the Houston lineup is deep enough that his fantasy value isn't hindered too much from hitting down the order.
