Cron went 5-for-6 with a solo home run, two doubles and three runs scored in Thursday's 16-7 demolition of the Angels.

After failing to collect a hit in the first two games of the series against his former team, Cron went off Thursday with his third game of four or more hits in May. He is slashing .325/.391/.675 for the month with eight homers and 16 RBI and is set up to shine as a key cog in the middle of Minnesota's potent offense.

Bell went 3-for-4 with a home run, double, walk, three runs and two RBI in Thursday's 14-6 win over the Rockies.

Bell already provided the highlight of the series a night earlier when he splashed down in the Allegheny River for his 15th home run of the season, but he turned in quite the encore performance Thursday. Voit went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, double and two runs scored Thursday against the Orioles.

Voit took Miguel Castro deep in the eighth inning to record his 12th homer of the season. That came after he doubled and came around to score in the sixth inning, and he now has six extra-base hits in his last eight games. He's managed to raise his slugging percentage 33 points in that span, and he's now hitting .263/.376/.503 across 213 plate appearances for the season.

Rizzo went 4-for-5 with a solo home run, three runs and three RBI in the Cubs' 9-7 defeat to the Phillies on Thursday.

Rizzo put up a big day at the dish in a losing effort for the Cubs, blasting his 13th long ball of the season in the seventh inning off Pat Neshek as part of a four-hit day. After a slow start, Rizzo now has his average up to .274 through 168 at-bats as he looks primed for another standout season at the plate for the Cubs.

Diaz (hand) was placed on the 10-day injured list Thursday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Diaz has been out since Monday with a sore hand/wrist after getting hit by a pitch Sunday. He will be eligible to return May 30 against the Twins. Daniel Robertson, who is starting at the hot corner and hitting ninth Thursday, will likely get the bulk of the starts at third base in the short term.

Olson continued his recent stretch of hard contact Wednesday, as he now has six extra-base hits (two doubles, four home runs) over his last nine starts. The young slugger's previously injured hand, which was the cause of a 34-game absence earlier this year, appears to be back to full health, if Olson's offense since returning is any indication.

Tellez went 2-for-5 with a walk and a solo home run in Wednesday's extra-innings loss to the Red Sox.

He took Heath Hembree deep in the 12th inning, matching Mookie Betts' shot in the top of the frame and keeping the Jays alive, but none of his teammates were able to respond to Michael Chavis' solo homer in the 13th. Tellez has gone yard three times in the last two games, and while his .254/.310/.486 slash line remains sluggish, he's supplying strong power numbers with nine home runs and 25 RBI through 42 games in his first full season in the majors.

Abreu went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 9-4 win over Houston.

Abreu has homered in back-to-back games, the 24th time he's achieved that feat during his career. He's up to 40 RBI, tied for second in the AL with Adalberto Mondesi and trailing Houston's George Springer.
