Votto is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros.

Due to the quick turnaround for the series finale, Votto will head to the bench for the first time since May 29, ending a streak of 15 consecutive starts. Derek Dietrich will fill in at first base for Votto, who is getting on base at a .373 clip in June but still hasn't hit for much power (two home runs, five doubles in 51 at-bats).

The Rays placed Diaz (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list Wednesday, Josh Tolentino of The Athletic reports.

Diaz had shown limited improvement in his recovery from a right hamstring injury since he last played Sunday, prompting the Rays to shut him down for at least another week. According to Tolentino, the third baseman will stay with the team to rehab, and the hope is that he'll be ready to return next week in Minnesota after a minimum stay on the shelf. Tampa Bay recalled Daniel Robertson from Triple-A Durham to restore some depth in the infield, but Joey Wendle appears to be the likelier candidate to assume Diaz's spot in the everyday lineup.

Bell went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in a 5-4 loss against the Tigers on Tuesday.

The solo bomb was Bell's 20th of the season, but unfortunately, he grounded into a double play with two runners aboard and only one out in the ninth. Bell is still a candidate to hit 40 long balls and/or 50 doubles, but he has cooled off considerably in June. He is 8-for-37 (.216) with two homers and nine RBI in the last 10 games. Overall, Bell is batting .319 with 50 extra-base hits, 66 RBI and 53 runs in 276 at-bats this season. He possesses a 1.040 OPS.

Alonso went 4-for-4 with two walks, a home run, two doubles, three runs scored and three RBI on Tuesday against the Braves.

Alonso reached base in each of his plate appearances while also notching three extra-base hits, highlighted by his two-run homer in the fourth inning. It was his 24th long ball of the season, and he's outpaced by only Christian Yelich across the majors. Alonso has shown no signs of slowing down of late, homering four times in his past 10 games. He's hitting .274/.359/.624 across 301 plate appearances for the campaign.

Freeman went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Tuesday against the Mets.

Freeman took Jacob deGrom deep in the final frame to record his 20th homer of the season. He's been getting on base at a prolific rate for much of the campaign, and that hasn't changed of late. In his last seven games, Freeman has racked up five multi-hit performances as well as two home runs, nine runs scored and 10 RBI. He has a very strong .313/.402/.597 line across 331 plate appearances.

Diaz isn't starting Tuesday's game against the Yankees due to a hamstring issue, Eduardo A. Encina of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The Rays are holding Diaz out for the second straight day as a precaution, and they're optimistic that he won't require a trip to the injured list. He'll be considered day-to-day moving forward.

Diaz isn't in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Yankees, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Diaz will get his second consecutive day off, making way for Joey Wendle to draw the start at the hot corner.

Calhoun went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, two runs and a walk in Monday's win against the Blue Jays.

In Justin Upton's (toe) first game back from the 60-day injured list, Calhoun showed his worth in the Angels' crowded outfield with a homer of his own, his 15th of the season. The 31-year-old has been a reliable option in Upton's absence, carrying a slash line of .235/.327/.482 with 37 RBI, but Upton's return means that Calhoun will likely split time with Brian Goodwin in right field going forward. Goodwin carries a higher batting average of .289, but has only six home runs and 24 RBI, meaning that Calhoun could be the slight favorite for playing time.

Diaz is not in the lineup Monday against the Yankees, Josh Tolentino of The Athletic reports.

Diaz has started 15 consecutive games since returning from the injured list June 2, slashing .361/.426/.508 with two homers, nine RBI and a 7:9 BB:K during that stretch. Joey Wendle is starting at the hot corner and hitting eighth in place of Diaz in this one.

Freeman went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, two RBI and two runs in Sunday's 15-1 win over the Phillies.

Freeman lifted his season average to .311 with another two-hit effort, his fourth in his last five starts. With the likes of Ronald Acuna and Josh Donaldson also in the midst of heaters at the plate, Freeman has benefited from a surge in run-scoring and run-producing opportunities. He's already compiled 19 RBI and 14 runs in 15 starts this month.
