Hoskins went 3-for-4 with two doubles and a walk in Friday's loss to the Marlins.

Hoskins registered a pair of extra-base hits, but he was unable to help his team to victory Friday evening in a low-scoring affair. After going 0-for-8 over his last two contests, Hoskins appeared to be seeing the ball well at the plate in the series opener.

Dixon went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Friday's 7-6 loss to Cleveland.

Dixon hit his ninth home run of the season off Trevor Bauer in the second inning. The 27-year-old has been a nice find for Detroit, as he's posting a solid .812 OPS through 144 at-bats and has settled into an everyday role.

Beaty was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City prior to Friday's game against Colorado, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports. He's starting at first base and will bat sixth.

Beaty was sent to Triple-A on Thursday, but he's back in the major leagues after Josh Sborz was moved to the 10-day injured list with back soreness. Beaty is slashing .286/.310/.393 with a home run and nine RBI over 23 contests with the Dodgers this season.

Tellez is not in the starting lineup Friday versus the Red Sox.

Tellez started the last nine games but will take a seat Friday with southpaw Chris Sale on the mound for Boston. Billy McKinney will start at first base while Vladimir Guerrero Jr. serves as the designated hitter.

Cooper (triceps) is not in the lineup Friday against the Phillies, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Cooper left Thursday's game with left triceps tightness after sitting out the previous game with the same injury. Craig Mish of FNTSY Sports Radio reports that he isn't expected to land on the injured list. Yadiel Rivera starts at first base in his absence.

Cabrera received a four-game suspension from Major League Baseball for his actions in Thursday's game against the Indians, T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com reports. He is appealing the suspension and in the starting lineup Friday versus the White Sox.

Cabrera was ejected from Thursday's contest for throwing some equipment in the direction of an umpire after striking out, and he is now facing additional discipline from the league. The 33-year-old can continue to play until a verdict on his appeal is reached.

Voit is not in the lineup for Friday's game against Houston.

Voit started the last 11 games between first base and designated hitter and posted a .325/.471/.525 slash line in that stretch. Edwin Encarnacion will take over at first base while Giancarlo Stanton will serve as the DH on Friday. Aaron Judge (oblique) makes his long-awaited return from the injured list in right field.

Goldschmidt went 2-for-5 with an RBI double, a walk and a run in an extra-innings loss to the Marlins on Thursday. He struck out in his other three at-bats.

If one wanted to find any one particular Goldschmidt box score that accurately encapsulates his 2019 season thus far, Thursday's would be more than adequate. The slugger's final line represented both the highs and lows of his first Cardinals campaign, with Goldschmidt coming through with a clutch hit but still swinging and missing more than he made contact. The prized offseason acquisition now has 79 strikeouts over 316 plate appearances, pushing his current whiff rate to 25.0 percent. That's just a tick below last season's 25.1 figure, and it serves as his second highest overall since his initial major-league stint back in 2011 with the Diamondbacks. Also of concern is Goldschmidt's career-low .176 ISO, which has him way off the pace of the 68 extra-base hits he's averaged over his previous seven seasons; factoring in Thursday's two-bagger, Goldschmidt has a modest 21 extra-base knocks over his first 74 games as a Cardinal.

Kirilloff was activated from the 7-day DL and went 0-for-3 with a walk in Thursday's game for Double-A Pensacola.

Kirilloff was on the IL with an undisclosed injury. Prior to landing on the shelf for the second time this season (he missed a month to open the year due to a minor wrist issue), the well-regarded prospect was hitting .268/.359/.402 with two homers and three stolen bases in 29 games for Double-A Pensacola.

Alonso went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in the Mets' 7-4 loss to the Cubs on Thursday.

Alonso is dialed in at the moment, as he cranked his second long ball in three games to give him 25 for the season through 269 at-bats -- tying the NL record for homers by a rookie before the All-Star break. His average was .258 on June 9, but he's hit safely in eight of his last nine games to bring his slash line up to an excellent .275/.362/.628 as he continues to thrive for the Mets.
