Walker went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Wednesday's 3-2 extra-inning loss to the Dodgers.

Walker had just one home run over the first 28 games but has found his power stroke. Over the last eight contests, the first baseman is 9-for-30 (.300) with four homers and 12 RBI. On a separate note, Walker batted third in the order for the second straight game. That was the batting-order slot of the now-traded Starling Marte.

Rizzo went 2-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored Wednesday against the Pirates.

Rizzo beat a drawn in Pirates' infield to collect a two-RBI single in the seventh inning. With the performance, he now has at least one hit in nine of his last 10 games, racking up three home runs with eight RBI and six runs scored in that span. Overall, Rizzo is hitting .232/.366/.456 across 153 plate appearances for the season.

Hiura went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run in Wednesday's 8-5 win over the Tigers.

Hiura got the Brewers on the board with his blast in the third inning. The second baseman is up to nine homers, 21 RBI, 20 runs scored and three stolen bases through 36 games. Hiura is slashing .229/.306/.436 across 157 plate appearances, hindered by a 33.8 percent strikeout rate.

Guerrero isn't in Wednesday's lineup against the Marlins.

Guerrero tallied two hits Tuesday, and he'll take a breather for Wednesday's contest. Rowdy Tellez will start at first base in his absence.

Hoskins will sit Wednesday against Washington.

Hoskins has handled quite a heavy workload this season, as he'll be out of the lineup for just the second time all season Wednesday. He'll hit the bench despite posting a 1.443 OPS with four homers over his last seven games. Neil Walker starts at first base in his absence.

O'Hearn is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Indians, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.

O'Hearn typically doesn't sit out against right-handers like Cleveland's Triston McKenzie, but manager Mike Matheny may have just wanted to give the 27-year-old a day to clear his head after he went 0-for-12 with six strikeouts over the previous three games. Ryan McBroom will bat fifth for Kansas City and will spell O'Hearn at first base.

Goldschmidt went 1-for-2 with a double, two walks and three runs before being lifted for a pinch hitter in the sixth inning of a win over the Reds on Tuesday.

Goldschmidt was a tormentor to Reds pitching while helping the Cardinals build an 11-0 lead before manager Mike Shildt opted to give the veteran slugger some rest with the game firmly in hand. Goldschmidt has now hit in four straight games and has reached base in 26 of the 27 contests he's suited up for this season, leading to an eye-popping .353/.495/.541 slash line across 111 plate appearances.

Smith is not starting Wednesday against the Orioles.

The deadline-day acquisition of Todd Frazier could cut into Smith's playing time, as it adds another player who's limited to corner positions and the designated hitter spot. Frazier starts at third base Wednesday, with Jeff McNeil and J.D. Davis starting at left field and designated hitter, leaving no room for Smith. With a .313/.389/.656 slash line on the season, however, Smith should remain a heavy part of the rotation going forward.

Votto reached base in all three of his plate appearances in Tuesday's 16-2 loss to the Cardinals, going 2-for-2 with a solo home run and a walk.

Votto has been about the only bright spot for the Reds over the past five games, during which the team has gone 1-4 to drop six games below .500. Over that stretch, he's gone 8-for-15 with three solo home runs, a double and two walks. He'll man first base and bat leadoff in Wednesday's series finale.

Abreu went 1-for-4 with a run scored in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the Twins.

Abreu's first-inning single extended his hit streak to 15 games, an extremely productive stretch in which he's bashed nine home runs, driven in 20 runs, scored 13 times and posted a 1.367 OPS. The first baseman has 22 extra-base hits among his 46 hits and sports a .313 ISO.
