White is 0-for-7 with four strikeouts in the two games since his return from a four-day stay on the bereavement list.

In other words, getting away from baseball for a handful of days did nothing to end White's struggles. The 25-year-old had gone 0-for-16 in the four games prior to his brief sabbatical, and he's now up to a 29.8 percent strikeout rate across 84 plate appearances.

France is hitting .032 (1-for-31) with five walks, one hit-by-pitch and two runs over his last nine games.

The abysmal stretch has lowered France's season average from .325 to .246, and although his on-base percentage still sits at an impressive .351 thanks in large part to the walks, his slugging percentage has also seen a 135-point drop to .395. France has struck out at a 24.1 percent clip during that span, but the instances in which he's actually made contact that have been just as much a culprit -- the 26-year-old sports just a 4.5 percent line-drive rate and 18.2 percent hard-contact rate in the sample.

Walker isn't starting Thursday's game against the Marlins.

Walker returned to the lineup in each of the last two games and went 2-for-9 with a run and four strikeouts. Pavin Smith will shift to first base while Daulton Varsho takes over in center field.

Freeman isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Nationals.

Freeman had gone 0-for-16 with a run and a 2:7 BB:K in the last four games. Austin Riley will shift to first base while Ehire Adrianza starts at the hot corner.

Guerrero went 2-for-4 with a double, an intentional walk, two runs and two RBI in Wednesday's 9-4 win over the Athletics.

Guerrero has now reached base 60 times on the season, tops among all players in baseball. With a .347 average, seven home runs, 22 RBI, 21 runs and one stolen base through 29 games, the 22-year-old has paid major dividends for those that invested an early round pick into him on draft day.

Naylor went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, an additional RBI and a stolen base in Wednesday's 5-4 win over Kansas City.

Naylor reached on an error in the fifth inning and eventually got to third base on his first stolen base of the season. He picked up an RBI with a groundout in the sixth inning, then followed up with a solo shot in the ninth. Naylor has gone 11-for-30 (.367) with two homers, six RBI and six runs scored in his last eight games. He's slashing .272/.309/.435 through 97 plate appearances this season. As long as he continues to play well, manager Terry Francona will likely find a spot for his bat in the lineup.

Goldschmidt went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in the 4-1 win over the Mets on Wednesday.

Goldschmidt put the Cardinals on the board Wednesday with a solo shot off Marcus Stroman in the first inning. The 33-year-old is slashing .248/.296/.393 with four home runs, 16 RBI and 20 runs scored in 29 games. He has seven hits in his last four games. The first baseman gets his fair share of balls to hit and receives many scoring opportunities batting third in front of Nolan Arenado.

Cronenworth went 2-for-4 with two RBI in Wednesday's win over the Pirates.

Cronenworth supplied half of the Padres' runs with a two-run single off Duane Underwood that scored Victor Caratini and Trent Grisham, and he had previously recorded a single in the bottom of the third. The versatile infielder has hit safely in six of his last seven contests, but he only has one extra-base hit and one homer during that span.

Rizzo went 1-for-1 with a walk and an RBI in Wednesday's 6-5, extra-innings win over the Dodgers.

Rizzo didn't start the game but he was able to finish it, delivering a walkoff hit against Garrett Cleavinger in the bottom of the 11th inning. After the heroics, the first baseman should be back in the starting lineup for the Cubs' next game Friday, as this was his first day off this season. Rizzo is slashing .231/.336/.444 through his first 108 at-bats.

Flores was removed from Wednesday's game against the Rockies with a knee contusion, Kerry Crowley of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

The 29-year-old worked a walk during the ninth inning and was replaced by pinch runner Mauricio Dubon. The severity of the injury remains unclear, but Flores will have Thursday's scheduled off day to aid in his recovery before Friday's series opener versus San Diego.
