  • Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Should be fine for second half

Manager Brandon Hyde said Sunday after the Orioles' 7-5 loss to the White Sox that Mountcastle (forearm) should be available for the team's first game out of the All-Star break Friday in Kansas City, Dan Connolly of The Athletic reports.

Hyde suspects Mountcastle will be sore over the next few days after being struck in the arm by a pitch Sunday, but the 24-year-old should have enough time during the break to overcome the injury. After his early exit Sunday, Mountcastle concludes the first half with a .255/.305/.447 slash line to go with 14 home runs, 48 RBI, 39 runs and three stolen bases across 328 plate appearances.

  • Yandy Diaz DH | TB

Rays' Yandy Diaz: On base three times in loss

Diaz went 2-for-3 with a double and a walk in Sunday's 3-1 loss to Toronto.

Diaz was the only Tampa Bay hitter to find any success against Toronto starter Robbie Ray. The 29-year-old third baseman has posted three multi-hit efforts in his last five games, but he remains in a platoon role at the corner infield positions. Diaz is slashing .250/.375/.332 with four home runs, 30 RBI and 36 runs scored through 323 plate appearances.

  • Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Has left forearm contusion

Mountcastle's X-rays came back negative Sunday and he was diagnosed with a left forearm contusion, Steve Melewski of MASNSports.com reports.

Mountcastle exited Sunday's game in serious pain after being hit by a pitch. It's unclear how long he'll be sidelined, but the X-ray results suggest he'll be ready to return Friday after the All-Star break.

  • Giants' LaMonte Wade: Returns to lineup Sunday

Wade (hand) is back in the starting lineup Sunday against the Nationals, Mark W. Sanchez of KNBR 680 San Francisco reports.

Wade did not play in the last two games after he exited Wednesday's contest with a left hand strain. He appears to be feeling better Sunday, as he'll lead off as the first baseman against Erick Fedde.

  • Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Exits after HBP

Mountcastle was removed from Sunday's game against the White Sox after taking a pitch to his left elbow, Joe Trezza of MLB.com reports.

The 24-year-old appeared to be in considerable pain and was replaced at first base by Pat Valaika. It's unclear whether Mountcastle suffered an injury to his left elbow, but he'll have the All-Star break to rest before potentially returning Friday.

  • Kole Calhoun 1B | CLE

Diamondbacks' Kole Calhoun: Not starting Sunday

Calhoun is not in the starting lineup Sunday against the Dodgers.

Calhoun went hitless in his return from a hamstring strain strain Saturday. The veteran outfielder will get at the least the beginning portion of Sunday's game off before the club breaks for the All-Star Game.

  • Alec Bohm 3B | PHI

Phillies' Alec Bohm: Tests positive for COVID-19

Bohm tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday and will miss at least 10 days, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Bohm was placed on the COVID-19 injured list Sunday, though it was initially unclear whether that was due to a positive test or contact tracing. He'll now be forced to miss a minimum of a week and a half, though his absence will be extended beyond that if he's unable to quickly pass through the league's health and safety protocols. Brad Miller could see an increase in playing time in Bohm's absence.

  • Alec Bohm 3B | PHI

Phillies' Alec Bohm: Tested positive for COVID-19

Bohm (COVID-19) tested positive for the virus and will miss at least 10 days, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Whether he misses more than 10 days will depend on his symptoms and future test results. Brad Miller and Luke Williams figure to carry the load at third base until Bohm returns.

  • Bobby Dalbec 1B | CHW

Red Sox's Bobby Dalbec: On bench Saturday

Dalbec is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Phillies, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Dalbec had a hitless, three-strikeout game Saturday, lowering his average to .273 in the last ten contests. Marwin Gonzalez will start at first base and bat eighth in the final game before the break.

  • Alec Bohm 3B | PHI

Phillies' Alec Bohm: Placed on COVID-19 injured list

Bohm was placed on the COVID-19 injured list Sunday, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Bohm left Saturday's game against Boston due to health and safety protocols, and now his placement on the COVID-19 injured list means he'll remain out Sunday. The third baseman's post All-Star break status should become more clear as the week progresses.
