Goldschmidt went 2-for-2 with two walks, two home runs and three RBI in a 5-4 win over the Reds during the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader.

He opened the scoring on the afternoon with a solo shot in the first inning and then launched a game-winning two-run shot in the fourth, with both blasts coming off Wade Miley. After going 0-for-2 in the nightcap, Goldschmidt is batting .287 on the season with 24 homers, 10 steals, 74 runs and 82 RBI through 130 contests. Goldschmidt has now gone yard three times over the last two days entering Wednesday's nightcap.

Dalbec is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Rays, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

Dalbec started the past three contests and is 9-for-23 with four homers, two doubles, nine RBI and six runs in his past eight games, but he'll receive a breather Wednesday with Kyle Schwarber starting at first base. Dalbec appears to have jumped Travis Shaw for reps at first base thanks to the recent hot streak, though both players could see their playing time dip if Schwarber starts to see more time at the position.

Hoskins (abdomen) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Wednesday, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Hoskins was already ruled out for the rest of the season due to surgery for an issue in his lower abdomen, so it was only a matter of time before the Phillies shifted him to the 60-day IL to free up a spot on the 40-man roster. Brad Miller and J.T. Realmuto should continue to see most of the playing time at first base for the Phillies over the final month of the campaign.

Vaughn isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Pirates.

Vaughn drew starts in each of the last six games but went just 2-for-21 with three runs and an RBI during that time. Gavin Sheets will serve as the designated hitter and bat eighth.

O'Hearn is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against Cleveland.

The lefty-hitting O'Hearn will remain on the bench for the second straight game with Kansas City facing a southpaw (Logan Allen) on Wednesday. O'Hearn's opportunities against right-handed pitching could soon take a hit, as Kansas City welcomes back Adalberto Mondesi (oblique) from the injured list Wednesday. Mondesi is expected to see most of his initial starts at designated hitter while he returns from an extended absence, leaving O'Hearn, Hunter Dozier and Edward Olivares to compete for reps in right field.

Walker isn't starting Wednesday against the Padres.

Walker started each of the last three games but went just 1-for-10 with three walks and six strikeouts. Pavin Smith will shift to first base while Jake McCarthy starts in right field.

France went 1-for-2 with with a walk and a run Tuesday in the Mariners' 4-0 win over the Astros.

He also reached base when he was hit by a pitch for the 20th time this season, trailing only the Athletics' Mark Canha (22) for the MLB lead. The high number of beanings has helped prop France's on-base average up to a robust .362, in spite of a substandard 6.6 percent walk rate. The 27-year-old will remain in the lineup for Wednesday's series finale with Houston, manning first base while batting fourth.

Padlo was recalled from Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday.

Padlo was claimed off waivers by Seattle on Aug. 19, and he went 6-for-23 with a homer, four runs and three RBI across seven games at Triple-A Tacoma. He'll provide depth for the major-league club as part of Wednesday's roster expansion.

Rizzo went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a double and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 6-4 loss to the Angels.

Rizzo went deep off Jaime Barria in the fourth inning, putting the Yankees up 1-0. In addition, he doubled and scored in the eighth. That was only his second home run in August, as he hit just .209 in the month. The 31-year-old is slashing .248/.345/.448 with 18 long balls, 52 RBI, 57 runs and six steals in 461 plate appearances this season.

Guerrero went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Orioles.

He took Jorge Lopez deep in the sixth inning to bring the Jays within a run, but the team's offense went cold the rest of the way. Guerrero has hit safely in nine straight games, slashing .361/.410/.639 over that stretch, and he's homered three times in the last two days to leave him one blast shy of 40 for the season.
