Dalbec slashed .297/.407/.576 with seven home runs and 22 RBI over the final 31 games of the 2017 season for Low-A Greenville.

Dalbec made a splash after being a fourth-round draft pick in 2016, resembling Babe Ruth in the short-season NY/Penn League with a 1.101 OPS over 34 games. That had us anticipating his 2017 season with great interest, but it took some time for the 22-year-old to regain his timing following a broken hamate bone suffered in mid-May. The Red Sox hope Dalbec can build off that final month. The 6-foot-4, 225-pounder is the real deal in terms of power, but there will be significant swing-and-miss in his game (37.4 K percentage at Greenville). The question is whether he can maintain a high enough average.

Wade was diagnosed with concussion-like symptoms after colliding with a teammate in an Arizona Fall League game, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

The game was delayed several minutes while Wade, 23, lay on the outfield grass. He was eventually removed from the game on a stretcher, but he gave the thumbs-up sign and appears to have escaped any serious physical injury.

Gurriel is batting fifth and playing first base for Game 4 of the World Series on Saturday.

With his impending suspension deferred to 2018, Gurriel will stick in his usual spot in the order against the Dodgers for Game 4. Gurriel is 3-for-9 with a home run and an RBi in the last two games and will face lefty Alex Wood on Saturday.

Gurriel will not be suspended during this year's World Series after making a racially inappropriate gesture toward the Dodgers' Yu Darvish during Friday's game, but will serve a five-game suspension in 2018, Liz Habib of FOX Sports LA reports.

The league will delay discipline on Gurriel until next season after he made an inappropriate gesture during the Game 3 win over the Dodgers. He'll miss five games in 2018 as a result, but Gurriel will be available for the remainder of the World Series.

Calhoun went 3-for-4 with his 19th home run of the season in Saturday's loss to Seattle.

Calhoun has moved to the leadoff spot over his last six starts, batting .304 (7-for-23) with two homers, four RBI and six runs since the lineup shift. The 29-year-old is just one long ball away from reaching the 20-homer mark for just the second time in his career. Calhoun's last shot to accomplish the feat will come against the flame-throwing James Paxton in Sunday's season finale.

Calhoun is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the White Sox, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports.

Calhoun retreats to the bench following Wednesday's loss, which eliminated the Angels from playoff contention. Shane Robinson will pick up a start in his place, while batting ninth in the order.

Abreu went 3-for-4 with a double, two home runs and two RBI in Tuesday's loss to the Angels.

Abreu was the lone bright spot in an otherwise quiet offensive night for the White Sox. The 30-year-old posted his fifth multi-homer game of the season and the 11th of his career. With a career-high 185 hits this season, the slugging first baseman is on pace to close out the campaign with a .300-plus average for the first time since his dominant 2014 season. He currently holds a gaudy .307/.358/.561 slashline with 33 long balls and 102 RBI.
