  • Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero Jr.: Crushes homer for Buffalo

Guerrero went 2-for-4 with a walk, a solo home run and a second run scored for Triple-A Buffalo on Wednesday.

The blast actually left the ballpark completely, landing in a parking lot beyond the left-field bleachers of Pawtucket's McCoy Stadium with an exit velocity of 107 mph, according to Jessica Camerato of MLB.com. Guerrero is slashing .412/.500/.824 through 20 plate appearances for Buffalo with a double, two homers and a 3:0 BB:K, and at least at the plate he clearly has nothing left to learn in the minors.

  • Rangers' Asdrubal Cabrera: Leaves Wednesday's game

Cabrera was pulled from Wednesday's game against the Angels for precautionary reasons, Levi Weaver of The Athletic reports.

Cabrera appeared to tweak his hand on a dive back to first base earlier in the game, but the team labeled his exited as precautionary and didn't officially designate an injury. The 33-year-old will now have Thursday's scheduled off day to rest up before hopefully returning to action Friday against the Astros.

  • Carlos Santana 1B | ARI

Indians' Carlos Santana: Out with tight hamstring

Santana is dealing with hamstring tightness, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.

This explains why Santana is absent from the Indians' starting lineup for the first time all season. Manager Terry Francona downplayed the severity of the issue, suggesting the team simply wanted to give Santana two days of rest with Thursday's off-day. Jake Bauers is starting at first base in place of Santana, with Greg Allen starting in right field.

Indians' Carlos Santana: Sitting for first time

Santana is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Mariners.

Santana will hit the bench for what appears to be a routine day off Wednesday after starting the first 17 games of the season for the Indians, slashing .389/.515/.537 with a homer, 11 RBI and a 14:9 BB:K in those appearances. Jake Bauers will cover first base in this one, allowing Greg Allen to pick up a start in right field.

  • Yandy Diaz 1B | TB

Rays' Yandy Diaz: Productive night at plate

Diaz went 1-for-2 with an RBI on a sacrifice foul ball, a walk and a run in a win over the Orioles on Tuesday.

After a hot start to the season, Diaz's bat has cooled off considerably. The 27-year-old is just 2-for-16 over the last five games, but his sharp eye at the plate has helped keep him on the bases (six walks over that span). Diaz sports an impressive .373 on-base percentage over his first 67 plate appearances, a figure that could be mostly sustained over the long term if his body of work in past various minor- and major-league stops is any indication.

  • Matt Olson 1B | ATL

Athletics' Matt Olson: Another step forward in recovery

Olson (hand) took two-handed wings with a fungo bat before Tuesday's game, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

It was a fairly significant step forward in Olson's recovery from hand surgery, as it marked the first time he's taken swings of any kind since the March 22 procedure. Olson will now progress to taking swings with a regular bat off a tee, and his ongoing progress is keeping his boss optimistic. "I think we're right on schedule with him," manager Bob Melvin said. "I know he's pretty eager to face some pitching but it's going to be a little more time before we do that."

  • Rangers' Asdrubal Cabrera: Keeps up hot start

Cabrera went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk Tuesday against the Angels.

Cabrera took Jaime Barria deep in the fourth inning for his sixth home run of the season. His power production has benefited from the friendly confines of Globe Life Park, with all six of his homers coming at home. He's done little else at the plate, as half of his total hits on the season have gone over the fence.

  • Justin Bour 1B | SF

Angels' Justin Bour: Sitting second straight

Bour is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rangers.

With lefty Mike Minor on the bump for Texas, the lefty-swinging Bour finds himself on the bench for the second straight day. With a .171/.275/.286 line against right-handed pitching this season, Bour isn't exactly capitalizing on the platoon advantage, so he may first need to find more success in those matchups before getting increased exposure to lefties.

  • C.J. Cron 1B | BOS

Twins' C.J. Cron: Retreats to bench

Cron is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays.

Manager Rocco Baldelli will use the second game of the series as a rest day for some lineup mainstays, as Cron will be joined on the bench by two other regulars in Nelson Cruz and Jonathan Schoop. After failing to record a home run and notching only one RBI in his first 10 games with the Twins, Cron went deep in both of his past two starts while plating six runs.

  • Rangers' Asdrubal Cabrera: Enjoying Arlington

Cabrera went 2-for-5 with a double, a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in Monday's 12-7 win over the Angels.

Cabrera has popped five home runs thus far, all hit out of Globe Life Park in Arlington. The 33-year-old infielder has taken a shine to the home field, posting a 1.062 OPS compared to just .328 on the road.
