Yankees' Luke Voit: No pain after sprinting

Voit (sports hernia) sprinted on the field Monday and said he felt 100 percent healthy, Brendan Kuty of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.

He will hit on Tuesday and thinks he will be able to avoid surgery until the offseason. It sounds like Voit could be activated before the end of August, especially if he feels good after hitting. Mike Ford has been getting the bulk of the starts at first base lately.

  • Carlos Santana 1B | ARI

Indians' Carlos Santana: Clobbers game-winning grand slam

Santana went 2-for-4 with a grand slam, five RBI, two runs scored and a walk in Sunday's 7-3 win over Minnesota.

After Brad Hand blew a save, Santana saved the day with a 10th-inning grand slam off Taylor Rogers. The 32-year-old slugger is up to 25 homers and 70 RBI with a career-best .926 OPS.

  • Matt Olson 1B | ATL

Athletics' Matt Olson: Swats deciding homer

Olson went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer in Sunday's 2-0 win over the White Sox.

Olson's fourth-inning shot -- his 23rd of the year -- accounted for the only runs for either squad in Sunday's contest. He snapped a nine-game homerless drought in what's been a disappointing start to August; he's gone 8-for-33 (.242) with one extra-base knock and nine strikeouts.

  • Kole Calhoun 1B | CLE

Angels' Kole Calhoun: Registers 26th home run

Calhoun went 1-for-2 with a solo home run, two walks and two runs scored Sunday against the Red Sox.

Calhoun tied the game in the eighth inning with a solo home run to right field, and the Angels would go on to win it in the 10th. The 31-year-old right fielder has put together a .233/.323/.480 slash line with 26 home runs and 60 RBI over 112 games this season.

  • Matt Olson 1B | ATL

Athletics' Matt Olson: On base thrice in loss

Olson went 2-for-4 with a walk in a loss to the White Sox on Saturday.

Olson had one of only two multi-hit efforts for the Athletics in the contest, as he partly emerged from a 4-for-26 funk in which he'd opened August. Despite the successful night at the plate Saturday, however, Olson still hasn't notched an extra-base hit since the calendar flipped, an atypical streak that's now reached eight games.

  • Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero Jr.: Out of action Sunday

Guerrero is not in Sunday's lineup against the Yankees.

It took awhile for him to round into form, but Guerrero is hitting .330 with five home runs and 26 RBI in 26 games since the All-Star break. Brandon Drury will start at third base and hit eighth.

  • Yuli Gurriel DH | SD

    Astros' Yuli Gurriel: Sitting Sunday

Gurriel is not in Sunday's lineup against the Orioles, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

This has been a fun series for Houston's hitters, and Gurriel tallied four hits in six at-bats in Saturday's contest. Aledmys Diaz will start at first base and hit seventh.

  • Ryan Court 1B | CHC

Mariners' Ryan Court: Optioned to Triple-A

Court was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma on Saturday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Court got called up to the Mariners on July 26 and earned 18 plate appearances during his time with the team. The highlight of his stint came Friday, when he recorded his first major-league home run. The 31-year-old was optioned to clear room on the 25-man roster for Dee Gordon, who is returning from a stay on the injured list.

  • Kole Calhoun 1B | CLE

Angels' Kole Calhoun: Leading off Saturday

Calhoun has been moved to the top of the order for Saturday's game against the Red Sox.

Calhoun doesn't profile as a typical leadoff hitter -- he is hitting only .229 with a .314 OBP this season -- but manager Brad Ausmus is likely looking to shake things up in response to the team's current eight-game losing streak. Calhoun last hit leadoff in a win against Houston on July 5.

  • Ryan Court 1B | CHC

Mariners' Ryan Court: Hits first major-league homer

Court went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an RBI single in Friday's 5-3 loss to the Rays.

He made an impact from the bottom of the batting order, lacing a game-tying single off Rays starter Jalen Beeks in the fourth inning. Court then tried to spark a rally with a solo shot off Rays closer Emilio Pagan in the ninth inning, but the Mariners were unable to build upon his effort. The utility man has recorded five RBI in eight games since being called up from Triple-A Tacoma on July 26, but the 31-year-old only has a .235/.278/.471 batting line across 17 at-bats.
