  • Chris Gittens 1B | HOU

Yankees' Chris Gittens: Not starting Tuesday

Gittens is not in the lineup for Tuesday's series opener against the Phillies.

The rookie takes a seat after going 1-for-7 with three walks in the weekend series against Boston. DJ LeMahieu steps in at first base Tuesday, with Rougned Odor playing second base and Tyler Wade playing third.

  • Yandy Diaz DH | TB

Rays' Yandy Diaz: In Tuesday's lineup

Diaz (neck) will lead off and play first base Tuesday against the Orioles, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Diaz left Monday's game with neck spasms, but the issue evidently wasn't a particularly serious one. The Rays will be happy to see him remain in the lineup, as he's hit .370 with a pair of homers over his last eight games.

  • Alex Kirilloff LF | MIN

    Twins' Alex Kirilloff: Sitting Tuesday

Kirilloff is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the White Sox.

After he was on the bench for one half of Monday's doubleheader, Kirilloff will take a seat again in favor of Miguel Sano. The rookie is a 1-for-15 slump over his past five games, but his .722 OPS on the season and the Twins' status as a non-contender should give him a decent amount of job security moving forward.

  • Ryan O'Hearn RF | PIT

Royals' Ryan O'Hearn: Heads to bench

O'Hearn is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Brewers.

The Royals' regular starting nine will be a man short with the game taking place in a National League park. O'Hearn will be the one to make way on this occasion, with Jorge Soler starting in right field.

  • Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Records steal in win

Mountcastle went 1-for-5 with an RBI double and a stolen base in Monday's 6-1 win over Tampa Bay.

The 24-year-old got Baltimore off to a hot start with his RBI double in the first inning, and he reached on a fielder's choice and stole second in the third inning. He's worked in a near-everyday role this season, but he's slashing a modest .249/.297/.435 while striking out at a 28.5 percent clip. Mountcastle has collected 14 home runs, 51 RBI, 40 runs scored and four stolen bases while often hitting in the heart of the order.

  • Matt Olson 1B | ATL

Athletics' Matt Olson: Homers in win

Olson went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 4-1 win over the Angels.

Olson plated a nice insurance run for the A's, increasing their lead to four runs with a solo shot to right off Alex Claudio in the eighth inning. The 27-year-old slugger has now recorded at least one hit in 10 of his last 12 games, and he's been more than just a power threat at the plate. He's sitting on a well-rounded .287/.375/.578 line with 24 homers, 61 RBI, 61 runs scored, three steals and a 44:61 BB:K over 381 plate appearances.

  • Jose Abreu 1B | HOU

White Sox's Jose Abreu: Homers in nightcap

Abreu went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in a 5-3 win over the Twins in the second game of Monday's doubleheader.

Abreu went deep in the first inning for this 17th home run of the season and passed Carlton Fisk on the franchise's all-time home run list. He also had an RBI in the first game of the doubleheader when he doubled in a run. Abreu continues to tear through the month of July, slashing .305/.368/.576 with four home runs, 17 RBI and 10 runs scored over 15 games.

  • Yandy Diaz DH | TB

Rays' Yandy Diaz: Leaves with neck spasms

Diaz left Monday's game against the Orioles due to neck spasms, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

Diaz will be considered day-to-day until more information on his injury becomes available.

  • Alex Kirilloff LF | MIN

Twins' Alex Kirilloff: Sits for first game of twin bill

Kirilloff is out of the lineup for the first game of Monday's doubleheader with the White Sox.

Miguel Sano will get the nod at first base in place of Kirilloff, ending a streak of six consecutive starts for the rookie. Expect Kirilloff -- who is hitting .245 with two home runs and seven RBI through 13 games in July -- to re-enter the lineup for the second game of the twin bill.

  • Bobby Dalbec 1B | CHW

Red Sox's Bobby Dalbec: Enters for injured Arroyo

Dalbec entered Sunday's game after Christian Arroyo was removed due to a hamstring injury. He went 0-for-3 in a 9-1 loss to the Yankees.

Boston manager Alex Cora indicated prior to the game that Dalbec would serve in a platoon at first base with Arroyo -- Dalbec against lefties; Arroyo against righties -- but that will change following the injury, which is expected to land Arroyo on the injured list. Danny Santana (quadriceps) is expected to return Monday, so there could still be a platoon situation, but he's worse against right-handers (34 wRC+ in 2021) than Dalbec (55 wRC+).
