Alex Kirilloff LF | MIN
Twins' Alex Kirilloff: Could stay in minors
Kirilloff (wrist) may be optioned to Triple-A after his 20-day rehab assignment ends next week, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports. He's hitting .333 (7-for-21) with a home run in seven games at Triple-A St. Paul.
Once Kirilloff is back to full health, the Twins may want to give him extended time in the minors to allow him to get back to top form. It's still possible he could be activated from the injured list next week, but it sounds like his return to the majors will come later rather than sooner.

Anthony Rizzo 1B | NYY
Yankees' Anthony Rizzo: Reaches five times Thursday
Rizzo went 3-for-3 with two walks, an RBI and two runs in Thursday's 9-3 victory versus the Angels.
Rizzo got on base in each of his five plate appearances Thursday, tying a career high. The veteran first baseman knocked in the Yankees' first run with a single in the first frame and notched two more singles along with two walks the rest of the way. Rizzo is slashing a scorching .344/.449/.578 with four homers and 10 RBI on the season. He's also in the midst of a seven-game hitting streak.

Kole Calhoun 1B | CLE
Yankees' Kole Calhoun: Gets minors deal from Yankees
Calhoun signed a minor-league contract with the Yankees on Thursday.
It's a sensible depth addition for the Yanks, especially with Giancarlo Stanton (hamstring) on the shelf for a while. Calhoun was in Mariners camp during spring training but opted out of that minor-league deal when he failed to crack the Opening Day roster. The 35-year-old struggled with the Rangers last season, posting a .587 OPS with 12 home runs.

Yandy Diaz DH | TB
Rays' Yandy Diaz: Smacks sixth homer
Diaz went 2-for-4 with a walk and a solo home run in Wednesday's 8-0 win over the Reds.
He got the rout started by leading off the game with a line drive over the left-field wall on the third pitch he saw from Levi Stoudt. Diaz has gone yard in back-to-back contests, and on the season he's batting .274 (17-for-62) with six homers, 13 RBI and 16 runs in 17 games -- a fantastic pace for a player whose career high in home runs is only 14, set back in 2019.

Spencer Torkelson 1B | DET
Tigers' Spencer Torkelson: Goes deep Wednesday
Torkelson went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double and a solo home run in Wednesday's loss to the Guardians.
The Tigers sputtered on offense in the 3-2 defeat, but Torkelson was still able to contribute. The second-year player now has two home runs and a .651 OPS across 17 games. Those aren't great numbers, but they seem to be a small step forward after Torkelson hit eight home runs and posted a .604 OPS across 110 games last season. He should continue to see regular playing time and has the talent to trend upward.

Donovan Solano 1B | TEX
Twins' Donovan Solano: Back to bench in Gallo's return
Solano is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.
After picking up starts at either designated hitter or first base in each of the past 13 games, Solano will head back to the bench Wednesday as the Twins welcome Joey Gallo (intercostal) back from the injured list. Gallo will most likely settle back in as the starter at first base versus right-handed pitching, but the righty-hitting Solano should remain a fixture in the lineup against southpaws.

Ryan Noda 1B | BAL
Athletics' Ryan Noda: Sits Wednesday
Noda is out of the lineup Wednesday versus the Cubs.
Jesus Aguilar gets a start at first base in place of Noda, who has slashed .227/.393/.386 with a pair of home runs and 12 walks this season.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. 1B | TOR
Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero: Mashes third homer
Guerrero went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's win over the Astros.
The first baseman took Jose Urquidy the other way in the fourth inning for his third homer of the season. Guerrero has been collecting plenty of hits to begin the year, batting .357 (25-for-70) through 18 games, but Tuesday's blast was only his fourth extra-base hit and the 24-year-old has a somewhat disappointing nine RBI and 13 runs, although he's more than capable of heating up in a hurry and racking up counting stats in a high-powered Blue Jays offense.

Gabriel Arias 3B | CLE
Guardians' Gabriel Arias: Picks up fourth straight start
Arias will start at shortstop and bat seventh in Wednesday's game against the Tigers, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.
Arias will be picking up his fourth consecutive start Wednesday, with three coming at shortstop while Amed Rosario has been on the mend from a back injury. Though prior reports have suggested Rosario is due to return to the lineup Friday against the Marlins, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com relayed Wednesday that the Guardians planned to call up top middle-infield prospect Brayan Rocchio from Triple-A Columbus, which likely implies more concern about Rosario's health than anticipated. If Rosario winds up on the injured list, Rocchio would most likely inherit the everyday gig at shortstop, resulting in Arias fading back into a utility role.

Andrew Vaughn 1B | MIL
White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Drives in pair
Vaughn went 1-for-7 with two RBI across both games of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Phillies.
Vaughn went hitless in the nightcap, marking only the fourth time in 17 games that's occurred to begin the season. He's also shown increased patience at the plate by earning nine free passes across 74 plate appearances after accruing only 31 in 555 plate appearances in 2022. Vaughn's power has yet to emerge -- he has no homers yet has doubled seven times -- but he has otherwise had an impressive start to the new campaign.
