O'Hearn went 5-for-5 with a double, two RBI and a run scored in Monday's victory over the Astros.

Since the start of September, O'Hearn is batting .373 (19-for-51) in 14 games with a pair of homers, 12 RBI and a .961 OPS. The 30-year-old first baseman has had one of the more surprising breakout campaigns this year, slashing .309/.338/.511 with 13 homers, 57 RBI and 45 runs scored through 326 plate appearances. Even when Ryan Mountcastle (shoulder) is able to return, O'Hearn should continue to see regular playing time in Baltimore's lineup.

Dalbec started at first base and went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Monday's 4-2 win over Texas.

Dalbec made a second consecutive start at first base in place of the injured Triston Casas (shoulder), who is likely done for the season, per Alex Speier of the Boston Globe. Dalbec is 3-for-8 in two games since being called up following Casas' placement on the injured list.

Torkelson is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Dodgers.

Torkelson has started every game since the All-Star break and has not had a day off since June 28, but both streaks will come to an end Monday. Tyler Nevin will get the start at first base in Torkelson's place.

Manager Brandon Hyde said Monday that Mountcastle (shoulder) is not a candidate to be placed on the injured list, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Mountcastle will not start Monday for the fifth time in as many games, and he is still feeling soreness in his injured shoulder. However, he is showing improvement and remains day-to-day for the time being.

Casas (shoulder) is unlikely to be activated from the 10-day injured list before the end of the season, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.

Casas is still undergoing tests on his injured right shoulder, but with the Red Sox out of the playoff hunt, the team isn't incentivized to rush him back. The 23-year-old first baseman established himself as a core piece of the Red Sox's long-term plans after finishing his first full season in the big leagues with a .263 batting average, 24 home runs, 65 RBI and 66 runs in 132 games. Justin Turner and Bobby Dalbec are likely to share work at first base the rest of the way while Casas is on the shelf.

Mountcastle (shoulder) is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Astros.

Mountcastle's injury will prevent him from starting a fifth straight game. He remains on the active roster for the time being, but it remains to be seen when he will return to the field.

Porter will start at catcher and bat eighth in Monday's game against the Guardians.

Porter will receive his second straight turn behind the dish and could operate as the Royals' primary backstop for at least the next week after Kansas City placed Salvador Perez (concussion) on the 7-day injured list and transferred Freddy Fermin (finger) to the 60-day IL on Monday. Since getting called up from Triple-A Omaha on Sept. 11, Porter has started his big-league career on a high note, going 4-for-10 with a home run and a double.

Dalbec started at first base and went 1-for-3 in Sunday's 3-2 loss to Toronto.

Dalbec was summoned from Triple-A Worcester after Boston placed Triston Casas (shoulder) on the injured list. Dalbec mashed for the WooSox, slugging .557 with 33 home runs and 80 RBI over 114 games. Hitting Triple-A pitching, however, has never been the issue. The 28-year-old maintains a .232/.298/.452 slash line over 915 plate appearances in the majors. While Dalbec could get regular work in the final weeks of the season, he does not have a path to a regular gig in 2024.

Gray went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's loss to the Orioles.

Making the start at shortstop following his call-up Saturday, Gray picked up his first big-league hit in the fifth inning before launching his first home run off Jorge Lopez in the eighth, putting Tampa Bay ahead 2-1. The 27-year-old Gray displayed some impressive power in Triple-A this year, hitting 28 homers in 127 games. His stint in the majors may be brief, however, as Taylor Walls (personal) is due to return from the paternity list Tuesday.

Kirilloff is not in the lineup Sunday versus the White Sox.

Kirilloff, who returned Sept. 9 from a shoulder injury, will get a breather Sunday. Since the 25-year-old's return, he is 7-for-25. Kyle Farmer will take his place in the lineup.
