Canadiens' Joshua Roy: Tallies twice in AHL victory
Roy scored two goals in AHL Laval's 5-2 win over Manitoba on Sunday.
Roy didn't hang around the Canadiens' camp as long as expected this fall, getting reassigned in late September. The 22-year-old will need to get himself back on track before he gets left behind as the big club works to integrate other prospects. Roy put up 35 points in 47 AHL regular-season games as well as two goals in 12 NHL outings with Montreal last year. He's already produced three goals through the first two minor-league contests this season.

Canadiens' Kaiden Guhle: Nets goal in win
Guhle scored a goal on four shots, added three hits and logged seven PIM in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Blackhawks.
Guhle's game-winning tally came with 15 seconds left in the third period. The 23-year-old missed some time due to a groin injury in the preseason, but he's handled a top-four role to begin 2025-26. Guhle has a goal, four shots, 10 hits, five blocks and seven PIM over three contests, giving him some appeal in fantasy for his category coverage. However, he won't come anywhere near the scoring potential of teammates Noah Dobson and Lane Hutson.

Canadiens' Zachary Bolduc: Goal streak at three games
Bolduc scored a goal and added an assist, both on the power play, in Saturday's 3-2 win over Chicago.
The 22-year-old continued a sizzling start to his tenure with the Habs, banging home a rebound early in the second period for his third goal of the season. Bolduc has found the back of the net in three straight games with four points in total, and he appears to have gotten comfortable very quickly on the top power-play unit. Bolduc won't maintain 30 percent shooting of course, but he won't need that kind of efficiency to deliver career-best numbers given the increased opportunities he's seeing with Montreal.

Canadiens' Cole Caufield: Pots first tally of season
Caufield scored a goal and an assist, both on the power play, in Saturday's 3-2 win over Chicago.
The Canadiens' top power-play unit was humming, as Caufield combined with Nick Suzuki and Zachary Bolduc on goals exactly three minutes apart early in the second period. Caufield's tally was his first of the season, and the 24-year-old has three points in three games to begin the campaign, all with the man advantage.

Canadiens' Nick Suzuki: Fuels offense with three helpers
Suzuki notched three assists, two on the power play, in Saturday's 3-2 win over Chicago.
The two teams combined for four goals in less than seven minutes during a wild second period, with Suzuki having a hand in both of the Canadiens' tallies during that stretch, before he got the puck to Kaiden Guhle for the game-winner with just 15 seconds left in regulation. Suzuki is still looking for his first goal of 2025-26, but the 26-year-old center has piled up five assists in the last two contests as he looks to show that his career-best 2024-25 season (89 points) was no fluke.

Canadiens' Sam Montembeault: Steady in first win of season
Montembeault turned aside 20 shots in Saturday's 3-2 win over Chicago.
The 28-year-old netminder was beaten twice in less than five minutes during a wild second period that featured four of the game's five goals before the 10-minute mark, but Montembeault otherwise had an answer for everything Chicago fired his way. It was his first win of the season after a tough loss in Toronto on Wednesday, and Montembeault has given up five goals on 47 shots so far as Montreal's No. 1 in the crease.

Canadiens' Sam Montembeault: Starting in Chicago
Montembeault will be between the pipes for Saturday's road matchup against the Blackhawks, according to Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports.
Before the Maple Leafs added two empty-netters, Montembeault permitted three goals on 25 shots in Wednesday's 5-2 loss to Toronto. During the 2024-25 regular season, the 28-year-old netminder posted a record of 0-1-1 versus Chicago while allowing seven goals on 51 shots.

Canadiens' Arber Xhekaj: Garners helper
Xhekaj recorded an assist, six hits, two blocked shots, two PIM and a plus-2 rating in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Red Wings.
Xhekaj is an ultra-physical defenseman, so he'll bring some grit to the third pairing alongside Alexandre Carrier. The two combined on Carrier's goal in the second period Thursday. Xhekaj's place in the lineup isn't guaranteed -- if his performance slips, he could be replaced by Jayden Struble. For the season, Xhekaj has racked up seven hits, four blocked shots and two shots on net in addition to his assist over two contests. He was limited to just six points with 180 hits and 118 PIM in 70 regular-season outings in 2024-25.

Canadiens' Alexandre Carrier: Lights lamp Thursday
Carrier scored a goal, blocked two shots and went plus-2 in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Red Wings.
Carrier stretched the Canadiens' lead to 4-1 in the second period. The 29-year-old defenseman is in line for a smaller role this season following Montreal's trade for Noah Dobson. Despite that, Carrier remains an effective shutdown blueliner and should be a fixture in the lineup with the ability to play more minutes when another defenseman is hurt. He should still be able of exceeding the 20-point mark, something he's done in three of the last four seasons.

Canadiens' Oliver Kapanen: Finds twine again Thursday
Kapanen scored a goal in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Red Wings.
Kapanen has two goals, three shots on net and four hits over two games to begin 2025-26. While that level of offense is unsustainable for a third-line center, he's doing his best to secure his place in the lineup after winning a job in training camp. If he can chip in at even a 0.5-points-per-game pace, Kapanen will have some appeal in deeper fantasy formats.

Canadiens' Zachary Bolduc: Scores again Thursday
Bolduc scored a goal on four shots and went plus-2 in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Red Wings.
That's two goals in two games for Bolduc to start the season. A hot start should help him solidify his place on the second line, and he's also seeing ample power-play time on the first unit so far. He had 19 goals and 36 points in 72 regular-season games with the Blues last year, but Bolduc is poised for a true breakout campaign if he can keep his momentum up throughout 2025-26.

Canadiens' Juraj Slafkovsky: Pads lead on power play
Slafkovsky scored a power-play goal on two shots and added two hits in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Red Wings.
Slafkovsky's goal late in the second period was enough to chase John Gibson from his Detroit debut. Through two contests, Slafkovsky has a goal, eight shots, four hits and a minus-2 rating while playing on the top line. The 21-year-old had a career-high 51 points in 79 regular-season games in 2024-25, and he'll be looking to take his offense to the next level this year without sacrificing any physicality.

Canadiens' Brendan Gallagher: Chips in two helpers Thursday
Gallagher picked up two assists in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Red Wings. He added four PIM and a plus-2 rating.
The 33-year-old winger has had a nice start to the new season while mainly skating on the second line with Kirby Dach and Zachary Bolduc, collecting three helpers in two games. Gallagher hasn't reached the 40-point mark since 2019-20, but he did deliver his fifth career 20-goal campaign last season with 21 tallies and 38 points in 82 regular-season games. The Canadiens' offseason additions and overall stronger roster could lead to more consistent production for supporting players like Gallagher.

Canadiens' Mike Matheson: Two-point effort against Wings
Matheson scored a goal and added an assist in Thursday's 5-1 win over Detroit.
Both points came in the first period as Montreal grabbed an early 3-1 lead and never looked back. The veteran blueliner saw just 19 seconds on the power play Thursday as offseason addition Noah Dobson has bumped Matheson further down the depth chart when it comes to prime opportunities, but the overall improvement of the Habs' roster could allow him to reach the 30-point mark again after he produced six goals and 31 points in 80 regular-season games last season after getting displaced by the emergence of Lane Hutson.

Canadiens' Nick Suzuki: Two helpers in big win
Suzuki collected two assists, one on the power play, in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Red Wings.
The 26-year-old helped set up tallies by Mike Matheson in the first period and Juraj Slafkovsky in the second as Montreal put the game away early. Suzuki is coming off a breakout 2024-25 campaign in which he racked up 30 goals and 89 points in 82 regular-season games, and offseason additions like Noah Dobson and Zachary Bolduc, plus improvements from youngsters like Slafkovsky and Ivan Demidov, could allow the Habs' No. 1 center to maintain or even improve upon that level of production.

Canadiens' Jakub Dobes: Bags first win of season
Dobes turned aside 30 shots in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Red Wings.
After Sam Montembeault took the loss in Toronto on Wednesday, Dobes was in the crease for the second game of a back-to-back set and delivered an impressive performance, shutting the door on Detroit after a Dylan Larkin power-play goal early in the first period. Dobes could be Montreal's goalie of the future, but the 24-year-old will cut his teeth in the No. 2 role to begin the 2025-26 campaign after a strong NHL debut last season in which he went 7-4-3 over 16 appearances with a 2.74 GAA and .909 save percentage.

Canadiens' Jakub Dobes: Guarding road goal
Dobes is expected to start in Thursday's road clash against Detroit, per Arpon Basu of The Athletic.
Dobes is getting his first start of the season after Sam Montembeault stopped 22 of 25 shots en route to a 5-2 loss to Toronto on Wednesday. The 24-year-old Dobes had a 7-4-3 record, 2.74 GAA and .909 save percentage in 16 regular-season outings with Montreal last year. He's starting the campaign as Montreal's backup netminder, and Dobes has his work ahead of him in order to steal starts from Montembeault.
