The Cardinals selected Beck in the third round of the NFL Draft from Miami, and he has a chance to compete for playing time this season. Beck is not worth drafting in most seasonal leagues, but he could be a late-round flier in deeper multiple-QB formats. In rookie-only drafts for Dynasty leagues, Beck is worth a Round 3 pick in one-quarterback formats and a Round 2 selection in multiple-QB leagues. Arizona's depth chart has two veterans at the top with Jacoby Brissett, who should be the starter in Week 1, and Gardner Minshew. It's not a stretch for Beck to get playing time in his rookie campaign if either struggles, or the Cardinals might want to see if Beck could be the quarterback of the future. In 2025 with the Hurricanes, Beck completed 72.4 percent of his passes for 3,813 yards, 30 touchdowns and 12 interceptions over 16 games. He could be a surprise Fantasy option given the weapons in Arizona, but he has to prove himself first -- if he gets on the field. At best, Beck would be a waiver-wire addition in most redraft leagues this year.

Cardinals' Carson Beck: Day-to-day with rib injury
Rotowire
Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur said Sunday that Beck is day-to-day with his rib injury, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
Beck sustained a rib injury during his standout preseason debut in the Hall of Fame Game on Aug. 6. The rookie returned to practice in a limited fashion during Saturday's session after he was sidelined during Arizona's preseason game versus the Raiders on Thursday. LaFleur added Sunday that he still wants the quarterback to "heal a little bit more," per Bo Brack of GoPHNX.com. Beck will have two more opportunities to return this preseason, starting with the Cardinals' next exhibition versus the Cowboys on Saturday, Aug. 22.

Cardinals' Carson Beck: Suited up for Saturday's session
Rotowire
Beck (ribs) is practicing Saturday, Bo Brack of GoPHNX.com reports.
Per Brack, Beck hasn't been working in position drills during the open portion of Saturday's practice, which is expected to be a light session following the Cardinals' preseason game against the Raiders on Thursday. Beck missed that one after completing 15 of 19 passes for 188 yards and one TD in the Hall of Fame Game a week earlier. He suffered a rib injury in the process, but it looks like the third-round pick may play again before the end of the preseason.

Cardinals' Carson Beck: Stellar in preseason debut
Rotowire
Beck started Thursday's Hall of Fame Game against the Panthers and completed 15 of 19 passes for 188 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions while adding two rushes for three yards.
The rookie third-round pick had built significant momentum in training camp leading into Thursday's preseason opener, and Beck looked every bit as sharp as he'd often had during recent practices. The UM product showed immediate command of the offense by spreading the ball around to seven different pass catchers over his first two drives, and he put together a masterful march on his second possession that spanned 13 plays, 96 yards and 7:17 of game time. Beck showed off his deep ball with a 35-yard strike to Jalen Brooks during the drive, and he narrowly missed his first touchdown pass when Corey Kiner was brought down inside the 1-yard line on a catch. However, Beck would make up for it the next time he had the ball, moving the Cardinals 60 yards on four plays with the help of a 49-yard connection with Brooks and capping the drive off with a deft five-yard fade in the right corner of the end zone to Simi Fehoko. Beck played the entirety of the first half and certainly gave a nearly impeccable accounting of himself in his pro debut, and he's expected to continue seeing plenty of opportunity in Arizona's second preseason game on the road against the Raiders next Thursday.

Cardinals' Carson Beck: Starting Hall of Fame Game
Rotowire
Coach Mike LaFleur announced Tuesday that Beck will start Thursday's Hall of Fame Game versus the Panthers.
The Cardinals provided some clarity with their quarterback situation by agreeing to give Jacoby Brissett a pay raise last week, indicating he'll have some leeway as the starter to begin the campaign. The team also rosters Gardner Minshew and Beck, a rookie third-round pick, at the position, and both players seemingly have a decent chance to see the field at some point this season. Beck capped his collegiate career at Miami in 2025, completing 72 percent of his passes for 3,813 yards, 30 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

Cardinals' Carson Beck: Signs rookie contract
Rotowire
Beck and the Cardinals reached agreement Wednesday on a four-year, $7.4 million contract, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Beck, a third-round pick, is one of the last players to sign from the 2026 Draft class. He'll likely open training camp third or fourth on the depth chart, competing with Kedon Slovis behind veterans Jacoby Brissett and Gardner Minshew. A strong summer could put Beck in good position to make starts later this year for a rebuilding Cardinals team.

Cardinals' Carson Beck: Picked by Arizona
Rotowire
The Cardinals selected Beck in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft, 65th overall.
The Cardinals were looking to add a quarterback in the draft after cutting 2019 first-overall pick Kyler Murray, and Arizona has opted to go with Beck with the first pick of the third round. Beck was a full-time starter in each of his last three years in college, wrapping up his career by leading Miami to the College Football Playoff National Championship Game, ultimately falling short to Fernando Mendoza and Indiana. Beck was an All-ACC Third-Team selection in 2025, when he completed 72.4 percent of his passes for 3,813 yards, 30 touchdowns and 12 interceptions over 16 games. He has an NFL-ready 6-foot-4, 233-pound frame, and Beck looked more comfortable out of the pocket and with his reads as he progressed in his college career, but he did run into some inconsistencies in throwing the deep ball and doesn't sling the ball as hard as other quarterbacks. He also had turnover issues in college, something he'll need to clean up if he wants to succeed at the NFL level. Jacoby Brissett and Gardner Minshew are the top QBs on Arizona's depth chart, but Beck may have the opportunity to compete for the starting job during the offseason program and training camp.
