  • Lions' Jameson Williams: WRs to Start

Dan Campbell started calling plays for the Lions in the past two games against Washington and Philadelphia, and Williams has 10 catches for 207 yards and two touchdowns on 14 targets over that span. His route tree has changed, and Williams now benefits with Sam LaPorta (back) on injured reserve. This week, Williams should stay hot against the Giants, who are No. 5 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing receivers. There have been 14 receivers with at least 14 PPR points against the Giants this season, which bodes well for Williams and Amon-Ra St. Brown both going off in Week 12.

  • Lions' Jameson Williams: Keeps momentum going

Williams recorded four receptions on seven targets for 88 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 16-9 loss to the Eagles. He added one rush for nine yards. Williams accounted for Detroit's only touchdown of the game with a 40-yard score, with most of the yardage coming after the catch. It was a poor offensive night from the Lions, but Williams also chipped in long gains of 27 and 19 yards to provide at least some positivity. This was his third-highest yardage total of the season, and he now has 10 catches for 207 yards and two touchdowns combined across the two games since head coach Dan Campbell took over offensive play-calling.

  • Lions' Jameson Williams: Steps up against Commanders

Williams recorded six receptions on seven targets for 119 yards and one touchdown in Sunday's 44-22 win over the Commanders. Williams has had frustratingly low production for most of the season, though he managed to top 100 receiving yards for the second time while also finding the end zone for the second consecutive contest. His longest gain of the day came midway through the third quarter when he broke free over the middle of the field and sprinted down the sideline for 41 yards. Williams also tallied a 22-yard reception in addition to his 14-yard touchdown. Per Adam Schefter of ESPN, Dan Campbell took over play-calling duties for the game, which could bode well for Williams if Campbell retains the duties moving forward.

  • Lions' Jameson Williams: WRs to Sit

It's always risky to sit Williams at home, but he failed to score a Fantasy point in Week 7 against Tampa Bay in Detroit with only two targets. He also has just two games this season with more than 6.6 PPR points, and he has three games in his past five outings with three targets or less. Williams has also scored 9.4 PPR points or less in three games in a row against the Vikings, and Williams is at best a No. 3 Fantasy receiver in the majority of leagues.

  • Lions' Jameson Williams: Held catchless Monday

Williams failed to bring in either of his two targets in Monday's 24-9 win over Tampa Bay. The usually sure-handed Williams failed to haul in either of his targets on a low-volume passing night dominated by Detroit's run game. The 24-year-old has been a hit-or-miss fantasy asset through seven weeks, doing most of his damage in two big-scoring games. Williams couldn't improve on his 17-289-2 receiving line Monday as the Lions prepare to enter a bye week. The Alabama product should continue to be treated as a risky high-upside play against the Vikings in Week 9.

  • Lions' Jameson Williams: WRs to Start

Williams had a season-high six catches in Week 6 at Kansas City, and he scored his second touchdown of the year. Hopefully, this is a sign of things to come, and I like his matchup in Week 7 against Tampa Bay at home. The Buccaneers have allowed three receivers to score at least 12.9 PPR points in their past two games, and Williams had five catches for 79 yards on 11 targets against Tampa Bay in Week 2 last year, along with one carry for 15 yards. This should be a high-scoring game, and Williams should excel at home as a No. 2 Fantasy receiver in all leagues.

  • Lions' Jameson Williams: Has breakout performance

Williams recorded six receptions on seven targets for 66 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 30-17 loss to the Chiefs. Williams finally put together a strong showing, leading the Lions in receiving yards while finding the end zone for the first time since Week 2. His touchdown catch was his longest of the day, as he caught a pass deep across the middle of the field before crashing through several defenders for a 22-yard score. Williams also tallied a pair of 15-yard gains to help him surpass 50 receiving yards in a game for only the second time this season.

  • Lions' Jameson Williams: Bust Alert (Start/Sit)

Williams made the most of his four targets in Week 2 against Chicago with two catches for 108 yards and a touchdown, and he finished the game with 18.8 PPR points. But it's troubling that he only has nine targets in two games, and he finished Week 1 at Green Bay with just four catches for 23 yards. The Lions are always going to be a risky play outdoors against a good defense, and that's the case with this matchup against the Ravens. Williams can make his Fantasy production in one play, so keep that in mind. But if he's averaging just 4.5 targets per game then he will be tough to trust in these scenarios, so consider him just a No. 3 Fantasy receiver at best in the majority of leagues.

  • Lions' Jameson Williams: Scores long TD in win

Williams brought in two of four targets for 108 yards and a touchdown in the Lions' 52-21 win over the Bears on Sunday. Williams was on his way to a second consecutive lackluster game to open the season before he turned on the jets for a 44-yard touchdown reception just past the halfway point of the third quarter. Williams saw his Week 1 catch total cut in half, but his yardage got an 85-yard boost and vaulted him to his first 100-yard effort since Week 16 of last season. Williams will try to break through against the Ravens' secondary in a Week 3 road matchup in Baltimore on Monday night, Sept. 22.

  • Lions' Jameson Williams: Nabs three-year extension

Williams and the Lions agreed Saturday on a three-year, $83 million contract extension with $67 million guaranteed, NFL reporter Jordan Schultz reports. Williams broke out with a career-best campaign in 2024, recording 58 catches for 1,001 yards and seven touchdowns while rushing 11 times for 61 yards and another touchdown over 15 regular-season contests. Detroit picked up the Alabama product's fifth-year option in late April, and the sides have now agreed upon a deal that will keep Williams with the team for at least three more campaigns. Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jared Goff are signed through 2028, so the trio is slated to work together for the foreseeable future.

  • Lions' Jameson Williams: Gets fifth-year option

The Lions picked up Williams' fifth-year option Friday, Field Yates of ESPN reports. As expected, Williams is now under contract through 2026, with a projected $15.49 million salary for the fifth and final season of his rookie deal. The Lions may be hesitant to discuss an extension after Williams' breakout third season in 2024, considering his first two NFL campaigns largely were defined by injuries and suspensions. He cleared 1,000 receiving yards on just 91 targets in 15 regular-season games last year, adding 11 carries for 61 yards and a TD, plus two touches for 80 yards and a score in one playoff game. Williams is safe in his starting job but may find it difficult to significantly improve on last year's 6.1 targets per game while sharing the field with WR Amon-Ra St. Brown, TE Sam LaPorta and RBs Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery -- all of whom will be adjusting to new offensive coordinator John Morton, after Ben Johnson left for Chicago's HC job.

  • Lions' Jameson Williams: Should get fifth-year option

The Lions likely will exercise their fifth-year option on Williams this spring, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports. The Lions have until May 1 to exercise an option that would guarantee Williams a salary around $15.49 million for 2026. That's well below market rate for a quality No. 2 receiver -- something Williams became in 2024 with a 58-1,001-7 line on 91 targets in 15 regular-season games. While unlikely to average more than 6-to-7 targets per game in an offense loaded with other talented playmakers, Williams should have a similar role this upcoming season under new play caller John Morton, who previously worked for the Lions in 2022 and then served as Denver's pass-game coordinator the past two years. Lions GM Brad Holmes said he'll likely pick up Williams' fifth-year option, but Holmes didn't mention a contract extension the way he did when discussing fellow 2022 first-round pick Aidan Hutchinson.

  • Lions' Jameson Williams: WRs to Start

Williams is hot heading into Week 18 against Minnesota, and he's worth trusting as a No. 2 Fantasy receiver in all leagues. He scored at least 12.7 PPR points in four games in a row, including the past two outings against Chicago and San Francisco with a combined 50.5 PPR points, and he has three receiving touchdowns over that span. The Vikings are No. 1 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing receivers, so Williams and Amon-Ra St. Brown should both perform well in this matchup.

  • Lions' Jameson Williams: Career-high 143 rec yards in win

Williams caught five of seven targets for 143 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 34-17 win over the Bears. He also rushed once for seven yards. Williams blew by the defense for an 82-yard touchdown catch in the second quarter, which helped him set a new single-game career high in receiving yards. The speedster has surpassed 120 yards with a touchdown three times this season, and Williams takes a budding two-game touchdown streak into Week 17 against the 49ers. He's up to 47 catches for 890 yards and six touchdowns, all career highs.

  • Lions' Jameson Williams: WRs to Sit

Williams has yet to play a game outdoors this season since he missed the Lions game at Green Bay in Week 9. And he's struggled on the road this year with three games with 8.3 PPR points or less in five outings away from Detroit. Last year at Chicago, Williams had no catches on two targets and one carry for 4 yards. And he had five catches for 28 yards on seven targets in Week 13 against the Bears this season on Thanksgiving. Williams is a low-end No. 3 Fantasy receiver in all leagues in Week 16.

  • Lions' Jameson Williams: Finds end zone in loss

Williams caught three of five targets for 37 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 48-42 loss to the Bills. Williams was limited to his lowest reception total since Week 10, but he did salvage his day with a three-yard touchdown catch with less than a minute left in the game. The wide receiver has now compiled 25 catches for 386 yards and two touchdowns over the last six games following his two-game suspension. Williams has emerged as a legitimate No. 2 option at wide receiver behind Amon-Ra St. Brown this season, catching 42 of 68 targets for 747 yards and five touchdowns while adding eight carries for 56 yards over 12 games.

  • Lions' Jameson Williams: Paces team in receiving yards

Williams caught five of eight targets for 80 yards in Thursday's 34-31 win over the Packers. Williams led the team in receiving yards on a team-high eight targets, most notably reeling in a 28-yard catch in the first quarter. The wide receiver's dynamic skill set has led to some big performances this season, and the five catches matched his season high, which he now has accomplished in three straight games and five times overall in 2024. On the year, Williams has caught 39 of 63 targets for 710 yards and four touchdowns while appearing in 11 games.

  • Lions' Jameson Williams: Leading receiver with 64 yards

Williams had five receptions (on seven targets) for 64 yards while adding one rushing attempt for four yards in Sunday's 24-6 win over the Colts. The Lions didn't need their top wideouts much in a comfortable win over the Colts, leading to modest stat lines for Williams and the rest of Detroit's receiving corps, though he did lead the team in receiving yardage. The 23-year-old has been hot and cold this season, resulting in a 29-602-4 line through nine healthy games. Williams' home-run potential will keep him a viable fantasy option for the contending Lions in a home matchup against the Bears on Thanksgiving Day.

  • Lions' Jameson Williams: Sleeper WRs

As expected, Williams played well in Week 11 against Jacksonville, with four catches for 124 yards and a touchdown on six targets for 22.6 PPR points. That's now five games with at least 14.4 PPR points in the eight games he's played, so he's worth the risk of starting almost every week for the chance of him having a big performance. That includes Week 12 at the Colts, who have allowed 13 receivers to score at least 12.6 PPR points this season. Williams is a boom-or-bust wide receiver, but I expect him to be great in this matchup on the road.
