Player Outlook
After wearing the "bust" label in 2024, Dalton Kincaid could be primed for a bounce-back season in 2025 and should be drafted as a low-end TE1 or a high-end backup tight end. Kincaid was not even a top-20 tight end last season, but he played through two knee injuries including a partially torn PCL. He also had the second-highest target per route run rate among tight ends (minimum 50 targets) behind only Trey McBride. He averaged the 10th-most yards per route run at the position. Unfortunately, Kincaid simply was not on the field enough and did not run enough routes to take advantage of his high efficiency. Kincaid never played more than 51% of the snaps after returning from a Week 10 injury but was actually on pace for 102 targets in his first nine games pre-injury. Considering Buffalo has not upgraded its receiving corps, Kincaid has sleeper appeal and should not cost much on draft day.

  • Bills' Dalton Kincaid: Sees limited work Saturday

Kincaid caught his only target for 10 yards in Saturday's 34-25 preseason loss to the Giants. The third-year tight end hauled in a Mitchell Trubisky pass on Buffalo's first drive and quickly checked out of the game after that, with Dawson Knox instead catching a red-zone TD pass from Trubisky in the second quarter. Kincaid is locked into the top spot on the depth chart, but his first task in 2025 is just to stay on the field. Knee injuries limited him to 13 regular-season games last season. which resulted in 44 catches for 448 yards and two touchdowns on 75 targets, a big step back in production from his dynamic rookie campaign. Kincaid appeared fully healthy in Saturday's cameo appearance, but he's already dealt with some knee soreness in training camp, an ominous sign for his fantasy value.

  • Bills' Dalton Kincaid: Returns to practice

Kincaid (knee) is participating in Tuesday's practice, Katherine Fitzgerald of The Buffalo News reports. Kincaid sat out practice Monday due to knee soreness, but he's back on the field Tuesday. The third-year tight end has bulked up for the 2025 season, and there are no indications that the soreness he dealt with is anything more than minor. Kincaid battled lingering issues in both knees last season, including a torn PCL that contributed to his disappointing sophomore production. Fantasy managers anticipating a Year 3 breakout from Kincaid will want to see if he's able to avoid any further absences in training camp.

  • Bills' Dalton Kincaid: Bothered by knee soreness

Kincaid missed Monday's practice due to knee soreness, Alex Brasky of Bills Digest reports. It's unclear if the injury is to the same knee that Kincaid had problems with last season, when he missed Weeks 11-14. Whatever the case, there's no indication for now that he's dealing with a serious issue.

  • Bills' Dalton Kincaid: Adds strength ahead of third season

Kincaid has "added both strength and bulk" during the offseason, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports. Kincaid dealt with knee injuries last year, causing him to miss three regular-season games and to log lower snap counts following his Week 15 return. Bills GM Brandon Beane attributed the talented tight end's lessened statistics -- he went from a 73-673-2 receiving line in the regular season as a rookie to a 44-448-2 line as a sophomore -- to the knee issues, saying Kincaid's campaign was "really more of an injury thing and nothing more than that." Per Buscaglia, Kincaid impressed during practice Thursday and now has a clean bill of health. He adds that Kincaid's increased strength could help him remain on the field more often for run-blocking reps, which would increase his offensive snap count and be a boost to Buffalo's offense.

  • Bills' Dalton Kincaid: Prolific drop in AFCCG

Kincaid secured two of four targets for 13 yards during Sunday's 32-29 loss to the Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game. Kincaid's quiet AFCCG performance will be most notably remembered for his drop with just under two minutes left in the fourth quarter, a fourth-and-five play in which Josh Allen found the second-year tight end open downfield, but saw the ball lodge free of his pass-catcher's hands while attempting a diving grab. The admittedly difficult catch highlights disappointment surrounding Kincaid's production Year 2, in which he strung together just a 44-448-2 receiving line across 13 regular-season appearances. Teammate Dawson Knox said Monday that Kincaid played through injuries in both knees, including a torn PCL, per Katherine Fitzgerald of The Buffalo News, but he didn't carry an official injury designation into any of the Bills' three playoff appearances.

  • Bills' Dalton Kincaid: One catch in divisional-round win

Kincaid caught one of two targets for 11 yards in Sunday's 27-25 AFC divisional-round win over the Ravens. Kincaid continues to post modest numbers, though he was hardly the only player to struggle in the passing game for the Bills in this one, as only Khalil Shakir (67) exceeded 15 receiving yards. The talented tight end could be more involved in the AFC Championship Game against a Chiefs defense that allowed the most receiving yards in the league to the position in the regular season.

  • Bills' Dalton Kincaid: Sits out Week 18

Kincaid didn't play any snaps during Sunday's 23-16 loss to the Patriots. Though Kincaid wasn't inactive for the regular-season finale, the Bills ended up holding out the second-year tight end and a number of other key players since they had already secured the AFC's No. 2 seed heading into the day. Since his return from injury Week 15, Kincaid's playing time has hovered below 50 percent of offensive snaps over his last three appearances, so additional rest could leave him ready to handle an increased role in Sunday's wild-card round game against the Broncos. Across 13 regular-season appearances in Year 2, Kincaid secured 44 of 75 targets for 448 yards and two touchdowns.

  • Bills' Dalton Kincaid: Just two catches in Week 17

Kincaid caught both of his targets for 24 yards in Sunday's 40-14 win over the Jets. Kincaid finished sixth on the team in receiving yards as Josh Allen spread the ball around in the lopsided win. The talented tight end hasn't been much of a factor for a while, having exceeded 32 yards only once since Week 7. His next chance to snap this slump likely won't come until the playoffs, as the Bills' starters should play sparingly or not at all in Week 18 against the Patriots.

  • Bills' Dalton Kincaid: Does little with seven targets

Kincaid recorded four receptions on seven targets for 15 yards in Sunday's 24-21 win over the Patriots. Despite winning, the entire Buffalo passing attack struggled against the Patriots. Kincaid was no exception, though there were positives to take away from his usage, despite the disastrous stat line. Notably, he led the team with seven targets and now has hit that mark in both of his games since returning from a knee injury.

  • Bills' Dalton Kincaid: Sleepers (Start/Sit)

Kincaid returned from his three-game absence with a knee injury in Week 15 at Detroit and had four catches for 53 yards on seven targets. He now has five games this season with at least seven targets, and he scored at least 9.3 PPR points in four of them. The Bills will likely make an effort to get Kincaid going prior to the playoffs, and the Patriots have allowed two tight ends in their past three games to score at least 17.7 PPR points.

  • Bills' Dalton Kincaid: Four catches in return

Kincaid secured four of seven targets for 53 yards in the Bills' 48-42 win over the Lions on Sunday. Making his return from a three-game absence due to a knee injury, Kincaid finished third in receptions and receiving yards while sharing the team lead in targets. Kincaid's yardage tally was actually a new season high, and he's posted a trio of four-reception efforts in his last four games dating back to Week 8.

  • Bills' Dalton Kincaid: Active versus Detroit

Kincaid (knee) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Lions. Kincaid, who has missed the Bills' last three games, was listed as a full participant in Wednesday's walkthrough and Thursday's practice estimate, as well as Friday's session. With Kincaid deemed available versus Detroit, the tight end should step back into a key role in Buffalo's passing game in Week 15, barring any limitations or in-game setbacks. Prior to sustaining his knee injury, Kincaid had recorded a 34/356/2 receiving line on 59 targets over the course of 10 games.

  • Bills' Dalton Kincaid: Questionable for Sunday

Head coach Sean McDermott noted Friday that Kincaid (knee) will be listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Lions, Alec White of the Bills' official site reports. Kincaid, who has missed the Bills' last three games, was listed as a full participant in Wednesday's walkthrough and Thursday's practice estimate, and he'll work Friday in some capacity. If he's available versus Detroit, the tight end likely would step back into a key role in Buffalo's passing game. However, given his looming questionable designation, confirmation of Kincaid's Week 15 status won't arrive until inactives are posted ahead of Buffalo's 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff.

  • Bills' Dalton Kincaid: Not expected to play Sunday

Kincaid (knee), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at the Rams, is not expected to play, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Kincaid, who last played Week 10, was able practice all week but on a limited basis. He apparently didn't demonstrate enough progress in his recovery from the knee injury to get the green light to play, though his status won't be confirmed until the Bills release their inactive list 90 minutes before Sunday's 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff. Dawson Knox looks primed to serve as the Bills' top tight end in Kincaid's stead.

  • Bills' Dalton Kincaid: May return to action Sunday

Kincaid (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at the Rams. Kincaid made an early exit Week 10 at Indianapolis due to a knee injury and wasn't able to practice until this week, when he strung together three consecutive limited sessions. He thus has a chance to end his absence at two games, something that'll be confirmed, one way or another, about 90 minutes before Sunday's 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff. If Kincaid is inhibited or inactive this weekend, Dawson Knox again would handle most of the TE reps for the Bills.

  • Bills' Dalton Kincaid: Limited practice Thursday

Kincaid (knee) was limited at practice Thursday. Kincaid, who last suited up for game action in Week 10, was also deemed limited in Wednesday's walk-through. With that in mind, the tight end will likely have to practice fully Friday in order to approach Sunday's game against the Rams without an injury designation. If Kincaid remains out this weekend, however, Dawson Knox would be in line to continue seeing added opportunities as the Bills' top pass-catching TE option.

  • Bills' Dalton Kincaid: Ruled out for Sunday

Head coach Sean McDermott noted Friday that Kincaid (knee) won't play Sunday night against the 49ers. With Kincaid set to miss his second straight contest, Dawson Knox is slated to maintain an expanded role in the Bills offense while serving as the team's primary option at tight end versus San Francisco. Kincaid's next chance to see game action will occur Dec. 8 when Buffalo faces the Rams in Week 14.

  • Bills' Dalton Kincaid: Won't practice Wednesday

Head coach Sean McDermott said that Kincaid (knee) won't practice Wednesday, Maddy Glab of the Bills' official site reports. Kincaid missed the Bills' Week 11 win over the Chiefs and is still not practicing following the team's bye week. He has two more chances to get in some on-field work ahead of Sunday's game against the 49ers, but if Kincaid remains sidelined this weekend, Dawson Knox would maintain an expanded role as the Bills' primary option at tight end.

  • Bills' Dalton Kincaid: Dealing with knee issue

Kinkaid returned to play two snaps in the third quarter of Sunday's 30-20 win over the Colts before sitting out the remainder of the game due to the knee injury he suffered earlier in the contest, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports. "Thought I could go and just didn't feel good enough to run and be able to go out there and protect myself," the tight end, when asked about his brief return to the game. Kincaid, who finished up the game with two catches on five targets for 24 yards, will likely get his knee checked out during the upcoming week. For the time being, consider the tight end day-to-day in advance of next Sunday's game against the Chiefs. Dawson Knox would step in as the Bills' starting tight end in Week 11 if Kinkaid is unable to play.

  • Bills' Dalton Kincaid: Doubtful to return Sunday

Kincaid is considered doubtful to return to Sunday's game against the Colts due to a knee injury. After having previously exited the contest, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com relays that Kincaid returned for two snaps in the third quarter, but evidently the tight end hasn't shaken his knee issue. In his absence, Dawson Knox and Quintin Morris are available to handle Buffalo's TE duties.
