  • Bills' Khalil Shakir: Six catches in loss

Shakir recorded six receptions on nine targets for 45 yards in Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Patriots. Shakir matched his season high of nine targets, though he wasn't able to turn that into much production. Four of his six catches went for six or fewer yards, leading to his third performance with less than 50 receiving yards on the campaign. Shakir will continue to be a key part of the Buffalo offense, but he's reliant primarily on yards after the catch or touchdowns for big fantasy performances, with the majority of his opportunity coming in the short areas of the field.

  • Bills' Khalil Shakir: Sleeper WRs

Shakir had another solid outing in Week 4 against New Orleans with five catches for 69 yards and a touchdown on five targets, and he's now scored at least 12.4 PPR points in three of four games this season. He's worth using as a No. 3 Fantasy receiver in all leagues against the Patriots, who have allowed six receivers to score at least 12.2 PPR points this year.

  • Bills' Khalil Shakir: Scores again in Week 4

Shakir secured all five of his targets for 69 yards and one touchdown during Sunday's 31-19 win over the Saints. Most of Shakir's production came on a 43-yard touchdown in the first quarter, as he put his YAC ability on full display and broke multiple tackles on a reception initially made behind the line of scrimmage. He played a season-low 29 offensive snaps versus New Orleans, but game script may have been a factor in his reduced workload. Shakir has scored in back-to-back weeks and is one of the top targets for Josh Allen in a Bills offense that has piled up 30-plus points in all four regular-season games so far. He'll look to keep up his momentum at home against the division-rival Patriots in Week 5 on Sunday, Oct. 5.

  • Bills' Khalil Shakir: Scores first TD of season Thursday

Shakir brought in all four targets for 45 yards and a touchdown during the Bills' 31-21 win over the Dolphins on Thursday night. The highlight of Shakir's night was a tie-breaking 15-yard touchdown grab just after the halfway point of the fourth quarter, a play on which he went in motion before reversing course at the snap, catching a swing pass out of the backfield and scooting up the left side of the field into the end zone. Shakir's receiving line represented a decent resurgence after he was limited to one catch for 12 yards against the Jets in Week 2, and he'll remain one of Josh Allen's primary targets in a Week 4 home matchup against the Saints on Sunday, Sept. 28.

  • Bills' Khalil Shakir: Struggles against Jets continue

Shakir caught one of two targets for 12 yards in Sunday's 30-10 win over the Jets. Shakir has struggled against a Jets defense with a strong secondary and plenty of weaknesses elsewhere, exceeding 25 receiving yards only once in seven career matchups in the AFC East rivalry. Buffalo's 2024 leader in receiving yards has a nice opportunity to bounce back Thursday against a Dolphins defense that is allowing 33 points per game.

  • Bills' Khalil Shakir: Sleeper WRs

Shakir could benefit in Week 2 at the Jets if Keon Coleman gets shadow coverage from Sauce Gardner. In Week 1 against the Steelers, Gardner helped limit DK Metcalf to four catches for 83 yards, but Calvin Austin III and Ben Skowronek combined for five catches for 92 yards and two touchdowns on seven targets against the rest of the Jets secondary. Shakir had a solid outing in Week 1 against Baltimore with six catches for 64 yards on nine targets, and he's worth using as a No. 3 PPR receiver against the Jets. Josh Palmer is also in play in deeper leagues after he had five catches for 61 yards on nine targets against the Ravens.

  • Bills' Khalil Shakir: Six catches in Week 1 win

Shakir caught six of nine targets for 64 yards in Sunday's 41-40 win over the Ravens. Shakir showed no ill effects from the high-ankle sprain that sidelined him during training camp, as he finished second on the team in targets, catches and receiving yards behind Keon Coleman, who had 112 yards and a touchdown on 11 targets. Shakir led the Bills in all three categories last season, but the emergence of Coleman and addition of Joshua Palmer in the offseason gives Shakir more competition for attention from Josh Allen heading into a Week 2 road game against the Jets.

  • Bills' Khalil Shakir: Sleeper WRs

Keon Coleman (groin) is limited heading into Week 1, and Shakir is healthy after dealing with a high-ankle sprain early in training camp. Josh Allen could lean heavily on Shakir in this game, which is projected as the highest-scoring matchup of the week at 51.5 points. Shakir had six catches for 67 yards on seven targets in the playoffs against the Ravens, and he could post a similar stat line this week. He's worth a look as a No. 3 PPR receiver in deeper leagues.

  • Bills' Khalil Shakir: Resumes practicing

Shakir (ankle) is participating in Wednesday's practice, Katherine Fitzgerald of The Buffalo News reports Shakir is back on the practice field for the first time since suffering a right high-ankle sprain Aug. 1, so even being restricted to limited reps would represent a significant step in the right direction. Head coach Sean McDermott has expressed optimism about Shakir's chances of being available Week 1, so even if Buffalo opts to take a cautious approach to the No. 1 wideout's health, look for his activity level to ramp up in advance of Buffalo's regular-season opener against Baltimore on Sunday, Sept. 7.

  • Bills' Khalil Shakir: Expected back for Week 1

Bills head coach Sean McDermott said Thursday that Shakir (ankle) should be ready for the start of the regular season, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports. Shakir is considered week-to-week due to a high-ankle sprain, an injury he picked up during practice last Friday. Optimism for Week 1 is encouraging, though at this stage it seems fairly possible he misses all three of Buffalo's preseason contests. In the meantime, Keon Coleman and Joshua Palmer will lead the Bills' first-team wide receiver corps during Saturday's preseason opener against the Giants, in which Mitchell Trubisky will take the helm at quarterback while the starting unit plays roughly one quarter, per Maddy Glab of the Bills' official site.

  • Bills' Khalil Shakir: Agrees to four-year extension

Shakir and Buffalo agreed to terms Tuesday on a four-year contract extension worth up to $60.2 million, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Shakir's new deal reportedly includes $32 million guaranteed at signing. The 2022 fifth-round pick led the Bills in targets, catches and yards during the 2024 regular season, posting a career-best 76-821-4 receiving line on 100 targets. The sure-handed slot specialist also had exactly six catches in all three of Buffalo's playoff games. Looking ahead to the 2025 campaign, Shakir's ability to create yards after the catch positions him to once again be one of Josh Allen's go-to targets.

  • Bills' Khalil Shakir: Six catches help team reach AFCCG

Shakir caught six of seven targets for 67 yards in Sunday's 27-25 AFC divisional-round win over the Ravens. Shakir was easily Josh Allen's favorite target, as no teammate had more than 15 receiving yards or three targets. After leading the Bills in catches (76), receiving yards (821) and targets (100) in the regular season, Shakir has been the team's leading pass catcher in the playoffs with 12 catches for 128 yards on 13 targets in two postseason games. Shakir should continue to play a pivotal role in Buffalo's passing game against the Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game.

  • Bills' Khalil Shakir: Held out of Week 18 action

Shakir didn't play any snaps during Sunday's 23-16 loss to the Patriots. Shakir, alongside a handful of other key players, didn't see any action in Week 18 with Buffalo having already secured the No. 2 seed in the AFC playoffs heading into the day. He'll resume handling his usual starting role at wideout during Sunday's wild-card round matchup at home against the Broncos. Shakir concluded the regular season having tallied career-high marks across the board, despite appearing in just 15 games. He compiled 76 catches for 821 yards and four scores on 100 targets.

  • Bills' Khalil Shakir: WRs to Start

Shakir is worth using as a No. 2 Fantasy receiver in all leagues, and he comes into Week 16 against New England having scored at least 15 PPR points in three of his past four games. He has at least seven targets in eight games in a row, and he scored a touchdown in each of his past two outings against the Rams and Lions. The Patriots have allowed five touchdowns to receivers in their past four games, and Shakir should continue to be the No. 1 option for Josh Allen in Week 16.

  • Bills' Khalil Shakir: Another TD in Week 15 win

Shakir secured six of seven targets for 39 yards and a touchdown in the Bills' 48-42 win over the Lions on Sunday. Shakir paced the Bills in receptions and tied for the team lead in targets while scoring a touchdown for the second straight game on a three-yard grab late in the third quarter. Shakir has at least five catches in six of the last seven games, affording him a solid PPR floor heading into a Week 16 home matchup against the Patriots.

  • Bills' Khalil Shakir: Sleeper WRs

We'll see what happens with the Bills receivers now that Keon Coleman (wrist) is set to return in Week 15 at Detroit, but I expect Coleman to impact Amari Cooper more than Shakir. He has at least seven targets in seven games in a row, and he scored at least 13.5 PPR points in four of those outings. Detroit is No. 5 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing receivers, and six receivers in the past five games against the Lions have scored at least 13.6 PPR points. Coleman and Cooper have the potential to be No. 3 Fantasy receiver in Week 15 since the game could be a shootout, but I like Shakir as a No. 2 Fantasy receiver given his role for Josh Allen.

  • Bills' Khalil Shakir: Sleeper WRs

Shakir had a quiet game in the snow in Week 13 against San Francisco with four catches for 30 yards on seven targets, and his seven PPR points were his lowest total since Week 6. Prior to Week 13, Shakir had scored at least 11 PPR points in five games in a row, including three games with at least 13.5 PPR points over that span. I expect him to get back on track in Week 14 at the Rams, who have allowed seven touchdowns to receivers in their past five games and six receivers to score at least 11.6 PPR points over that span. Shakir is a must-start receiver in three-receiver leagues and a borderline starter in all formats.

  • Bills' Khalil Shakir: Sleeper WRs

Shakir is worth starting in all leagues in Week 13 against the 49ers, and hopefully, he stays hot coming off Buffalo's bye in Week 12. Prior to the bye, Shakir scored at least 11 PPR points in five games in a row, including three games with at least 13.5 PPR points over that span. In Week 11 against Kansas City, Shakir had eight catches for 70 yards on 12 targets. San Francisco is beat up on defense, and Josh Allen should continue to lean on Shakir in this game. He's become the best receiver for the Bills in 2024 and a solid Fantasy option as well.

  • Bills' Khalil Shakir: Leading WR on Sunday

Shakir had eight receptions on 12 targets for 70 yards in Sunday's 30-21 victory over the Chiefs. Shakir finished as the Bills' leading receiver in a decisive victory over another conference contender. The 24-year-old has blossomed into a consistent fantasy asset in his third year. Through 10 games this season, Shakir is just 12 yards shy of matching his entire production during the 2023 regular season in seven fewer games. The receiver's lack of touchdowns (two) has kept him from becoming a certified fantasy breakout as the Bills enter a bye week.

  • Bills' Khalil Shakir: WRs to Start

Amari Cooper (wrist) could return for the Bills in Week 10 at Indianapolis after he was out in Week 9 against Miami, but Keon Coleman (wrist) might be out against the Colts after he missed practice Wednesday. Shakir has been the mainstay for Josh Allen, especially of late, and he comes into Week 10 with quality production in three games in a row. Over that span, Shakir has 22 catches for 222 on 24 targets, and he scored at least 13.5 PPR points in two of those outings. He had at least seven targets in each of those games, and there have been nine receivers with at least seven targets against the Colts this year. Seven of those receivers have scored at least 12.7 PPR points, and I expect Shakir to do the same if he continues to remain a focal point for Allen.
