    The Chiefs elevated Armstrong from the practice squad ahead of Sunday's game against the Chargers, Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reports. With Rashee Rice (hamstring) out and Tyquan Thornton (ankle) on injured reserve, Armstrong and Justin Watson were both elevated from the practice squad Saturday. The Chiefs are extremely thin on experienced wide receivers headed into Week 6. Armstrong has never appeared in a regular-season NFL game.

The rookie from Arkansas was dropped by the Dolphins in late August after failing to make the team's initial 53-man roster, but he's since found work in Detroit. During his final collegiate season, Armstrong appeared in 11 games and caught 78 of 122 targets for 1,140 yards and one touchdown.
