Fantasy News

  • Seahawks' Rodney Thomas: Heading to Seattle

Thomas and the Seahawks agreed to terms on a one-year contract Thursday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Thomas will call Seattle his home for the first time in his NFL career after spending the last four seasons with the Colts. He was a key part of the Colts' secondary in the two years after being selected in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft. However, Thomas saw less defensive snaps over the last two years and more work on special teams, and he finished the 2025 regular season with 21 tackles (14 solo) across 17 games. He'll likely see most of his snaps on special teams in Seattle but would be in line for more snaps in the secondary if one or both of Ty Okada and Julian Love were to miss time.

  • Colts' Rodney Thomas: Three tackles in opener

Thomas had three total tackles, including a tackle for a loss, in Sunday's win over Miami. Thomas played on just 10 of the defense's 47 snaps, but he had an outsized impact. He'll get limited snaps as a reserve safety.

  • Colts' Rodney Thomas: Limited role off bench

Thomas didn't have a tackle and played just three snaps on defense in Sunday's win over Chicago. Thomas started 15 of 17 games last season but lost the starting free safety job to Nick Cross. It's a little surprising he has a limited role off the bench. He's played just 25 snaps on defense in three games.

  • Colts' Rodney Thomas: Sitting with injury

Thomas is not practicing Tuesday due to a toe injury, Nate Atkins of The Indianapolis Star reports. It's unclear how long Thomas may need to be sidelined, but any kind of extended absence would be detrimental to the Colts' secondary. He'll now focus on getting healthy and back out onto the practice field.

  • Colts' Rodney Thomas: Gets another start at free safety

Thomas had one total tackle but played on all 59 of the defense's snaps in Sunday's loss at Tennessee. Thomas got the start at free safety even with Julian Blackmon active and playing 21 snaps. It's not clear if Thomas has overtaken Blackmon for the starting job or if Blackmon is just working his way back to full speed after not playing for three games due to an ankle injury.
