    The 49ers placed Martin (hamstring) on injured reserve Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Martin had been dealing with a hamstring injury recently that will now force him to miss the start of the regular season unless he works out an injury settlement with the team. Otherwise, the 23-year-old will be sidelined for at least four games before he's eligible to be designated to return.
