The Jets signed McClain from the practice squad to the active roster Tuesday.
The Jets needed depth at wide receiver due to Omar Cooper (ankle), Tim Patrick (groin) and, most recently, Arian Smith (knee) going on injured reserve. The Jets now have four healthy wide receivers on the active roster in McClain, Garrett Wilson, Adonai Mitchell and Isaiah Williams. McClain joined the Jets in early May as an undrafted free agent following his final college season at Arizona State, when he caught 31 passes for 441 yards and one touchdown across 13 games.

The Jets signed McClain to the practice squad Monday, Eric Allen and Amanda Vogt of the team's official site report.
The Jets waived McClain during Sunday's cutdown day. The undrafted free agent out of Arizona State cleared waivers and now rejoins the team that took a shot on him in early May. McClain played in all three preseason games, catching three of his six targets for 33 yards.

The Jets signed McClain as an undrafted free agent Friday, Jack Bell and John Pullano of the team's official site report.
McClain played for Florida State and Penn State before finishing his college career with Arizona State. The wide receiver caught 31 receptions for 441 yards and one touchdown over 13 games in 2025, with his one score coming via a 42-yard reception on a trick play against Texas. Amidst a packed wide-receiver depth chart, McClain will really have to show out at training camp to survive cutdown day.
