  • Cardinals' Blake Gillikin: Injures groin pregame

Gillikin sustained a groin injury during pregame warmups and is questionable to play in Saturday's preseason game against the Cowboys, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports. If Gillikin is unable to play Saturday, then placekicker Chad Ryland would serve as the Cardinals' punter. Gillikin has been with the Cardinals since October of 2023 after starting his NFL career with the Saints in 2020.

  • Cardinals' Blake Gillikin: Remaining in Arizona

Gillikin (back) and the Cardinals agreed on a one-year, $2.65 million contract Sunday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. Gillikin will stick around as Arizona's expected starter at punter heading into the 2026 season. The 28-year-old suffered a back injury in October, ultimately being placed on injured reserve. Gillikin will look to prove his health and be ready to go for OTAs in late May.

  • Cardinals' Blake Gillikin: Lands on IR with back injury

The Cardinals placed Gillikin on injured reserve Saturday due to a back injury, Zach Gershman of the team's official site reports. Gillikin appeared on Thursday's practice report due to a back injury, which is severe enough for him to warrant a stint on injured reserve. He'll be required to miss at least the next four games, making Week 11 against the 49ers on Sunday, Nov. 16 the earliest he is eligible to be reinstated off IR. Pat O'Donnell will serve as the Cardinals' punter against the Colts on Sunday and likely for as long as Gillikin is shelved.

  • Cardinals' Blake Gillikin: Lands on IR

Arizona placed Gillikin (foot) on injured reserve Saturday, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports. Gillikin suffered a foot injury last Sunday in a loss to the Seahawks and didn't practice at all this week. His placement on IR means Gillikin could return to action during the current campaign only if the currently 6-7 Cardinals make the playoffs. Arizona elevated Michael Palardy off the practice squad Saturday to serve as the team's punter Sunday against the Patriots.

  • Cardinals' Blake Gillikin: Gets new deal

Gillikin signed a two-year contract with the Cardinals on Wednesday, Zach Gershman of the team's official site reports. Gillikin joined the Cardinals in October of last season and competed in 13 games, averaging 50.6 yards per punt. The Penn State product will likely remain Arizona's punter in 2024 after earning a two-year commitment from the franchise.
