  • 49ers' Colton McKivitz: Inks extension with San Francisco

    McKivitz signed a three-year, $45 million extension with the 49ers on Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. McKivitz is now under contract through the 2028 season and is expected to receive $27 million in guaranteed money, per Schefter. The veteran offensive lineman has started each of the 49ers' last 35 regular-season contests and is expected to remain the team's top right tackle for the foreseeable future following Monday's extension.

  • 49ers' Colton McKivitz: Returns from injury

    McKivitz (undisclosed) is fully healthy and participated in training camp Wednesday, Mike Maynard reports. McKivitz was carted to the locker room with an undisclosed injury in the final game of the 2024 campaign. The 28-year-old offensive lineman started all 17 games for the 49ers last season. The five-year pro heads into the final season of his current contract in 2025.

    McKivitz (ankle) doesn't have an injury designation and has been cleared to play in Sunday's Week 11 game against the Bucs, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. McKivitz has started all nine games at right tackle for San Francisco. He'll see plenty of Shaquil Barrett and Joe Tryon-Shoyinka off the edge for the Bucs Sunday.

  • 49ers' Colton McKivitz: Slated to start at right tackle

    Offensive line coach Chris Foerster confirmed Wednesday that McKivitz will be the 49ers' starting right tackle to begin the 2023 season, David Lombardi of The Athletic reports. McKivitz, a 2020 fifth-round pick, has appeared in 28 games (five starts) over his first three NFL seasons. He finds himself in line for a more prominent role during Year 4 with Mike McGlinchey now in Denver. McKivitz signed a two-year extension in March, so he's under contract through 2024.
