  • Bengals' Quinton Spain: Practices fully Tuesday

Spain (ankle) was a full participant in Tuesday's practice session, Jay Morrison of The Athletic reports.

Spain was unavailable for Sunday's regular-season finale against the Browns after sustaining an ankle injury in Week 17, and he was forced to spend just under a week away from the team after testing positive for COVID-19. He'll likely be available to start at left guard in Saturday's wild-card matchup against the Raiders.

  • Bengals' Quinton Spain: Clears COVID protocols

Spain (ankle) was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday.

Spain was able to clear protocols after six days on the COVID list. However, before entering protocols, Spain was already ruled out for Week 18 due to an ankle injury. Whether or not Spain will be ready to return Saturday against the Raiders is still unknown.

  • Bengals' Quinton Spain: Enters COVID protocols

Spain (ankle) was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Tuesday as a result of testing positive for the virus, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Spain suffered an ankle injury in the Bengals' Week 17 win over the Chiefs, which has already ruled him out for Sunday against the Browns. Now in COVID protocols, Spain will be unable to enter the Bengals' facilities to receive any treatment on his ankle.

  • Bengals' Quinton Spain: Out for Week 18

Spain (ankle) won't play Sunday against the Browns, Jay Morrison of The Athletic reports.

Spain will miss the final game of the regular season after suffering the ankle sprain during Sunday's win over the Chiefs, but he's expected to be available early in the playoffs. Jackson Carman stepped in for him at left guard and should be in the mix to start in Week 18 for Cincinnati.

Spain (ankle) has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's contest against the Chiefs.

  • Quinton Spain: Inks with Bengals' practice squad

The Bengals signed Spain (foot) to the practice squad Friday, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.

Spain was surprisingly cut by the Bills last week while dealing with a foot injury he now appears to have recovered from. The Bengals have a need for quality depth along the interior of the offensive line, so Spain could be a candidate to bump to the active roster at some point.

  • Quinton Spain: Surprisingly cut by Buffalo

Spain (foot) was released by the Bills on Wednesday, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN reports.

This is a surprising development since Spain was a starter and was re-signed to a three-year deal this offseason. His foot injury is not believed to be long term in nature. Also, the team may have lost fellow starter Cody Ford for a stretch after Ford suffered a knee injury in Monday's loss to Kansas City. It appears as if Spain may have fallen out of favor with the coaching staff for reasons unknown, though Spain had a recently deleted tweet that suggested as such. The Bills may have an eye on injured starting lineman Jon Feliciano rejoining the lineup soon, at which point they can reshuffle their starting unit.

  • Bills' Quinton Spain: Sitting out Monday

Spain (foot) is inactive for Sunday's game versus the Chiefs, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.

Spain started the practice week as a full participant but was watching practice from the sidelines Saturday, and now he'll miss a second straight game. Ike Boettger is next in line to start at left guard in Spain's place, although Brian Winters is also a candidate for the job.
