    The 49ers are set to sign Waitman, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Waitman spent the past two campaigns with Pittsburgh and averaged 46.0 yards per punt during the regular season over that span. He's expected to take over as San Francisco's primary punter as the replacement for Thomas Morstead.

  • Patriots' Corliss Waitman: Signs with New England

    The Patriots signed Waitman on Thursday, Mike Reiss of ESPN reports. Waitman will leave Denver and return to New England where he spent time on the practice squad in 2021. With Jake Bailey having been released earlier in the offseason, the 27-year-old is currently the only punter on the Patriots' roster, though Reiss notes that the team could consider adding depth at the position via next month's draft.
