Perine rushed four times for 10 yards and caught his lone target for nine yards in Sunday's 43-36 overtime win over the Titans.
The Bengals were chasing the Titans on the scoreboard much of the afternoon and Chase Brown and Perine combined for just 16 carries, as Joe Burrow fired off 48 pass attempts. Perine is a touchdown-or-bust desperation RB3 in fantasy whose main value comes in the form of being Brown's backup. Cincinnati has been linked to a potential trade for a running back ahead of next week's deadline.

Bengals' Samaje Perine: Cashes in goal-line TD in Week 7
Perine rushed four times for 16 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 35-13 win over the Ravens.
The running back wasn't targeted in the passing game, but Perine notably subbed in for Chase Brown at the goal line to punch in a one-yard touchdown early in the fourth quarter. It's become apparent that the coaches are trusting Perine more, and it's having an effect on Brown's production. Perine is up to 31 carries for 126 yards (4.1 YPC) and one touchdown through six games this season.

Bengals' Samaje Perine: Reaches end zone in victory
Perine rushed 14 times for 68 yards while catching both of his targets for 10 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 31-24 win over Miami.
Perine surprisingly logged one more carry than starting running back Chase Brown (13) in the contest. Additionally, although he saw two fewer targets than Brown, Perine was able to reach paydirt in the second quarter, reeling in a six-yard touchdown pass from Joe Burrow. Perine remains a highly valuable handcuff option for fantasy managers with Chase Brown on their rosters. Through five games, the 31-year-old has rushed 27 times for 110 yards while reeling in seven of 10 targets for 61 yards and a score.

Bengals' Samaje Perine: Handles three carries in loss
Perine rushed three times for seven yards in Sunday's 22-17 loss to the Jaguars.
Chase Brown carried the ball nine times for just 10 yards, and the Bengals rushed 15 times for just 23 yards as a team, with Joe Burrow scoring a rushing touchdown. Perine has rushed 13 times for 42 yards (3.2 YPC) through four games. He would need an injury to Brown to gain any fantasy relevance.

Perine turned three carries into nine yards and caught one pass on three targets for five yards during the Bengals' 30-27 loss to the Steelers on Sunday. He also returned one kickoff for 26 yards.
Perine saw most of his offensive output in the first half and was limited to only one carry for zero gain in the second. His 18 offensive snaps were well behind Chase Brown's 40, and Perine figures to be limited to a rotational role in the Bengals' backfield this season unless Brown were to miss time. The Bengals will head home to host the Jaguars in Week 4.

Perine logged two carries for six yards and hauled in his lone target for 16 yards during the Bengals' 20-6 win over the Texans on Sunday.
Perine's three touches were well behind starter Chase Brown's 25, with the former playing 24 of 60 offensive snaps (40.0 percent). Perine's 16-yard catch midway through the third quarter converted a third-and-7 for the Bengals and led to an 18-yard touchdown pass from Joe Burrow to Ja'Marr Chase five plays later. Perine is up to 72 scrimmage yards through two regular-season games and is firmly entrenched as the Bengals' RB2 behind Brown. Up next is a Week 3 AFC North tilt against the Steelers, whose defense gave up 119 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries between TreVeyon Henderson and Rhamondre Stevenson in a Week 2 loss to the Patriots.

Perine (knee) was listed as a non-participant at the Bengals' practice Thursday.
Perine was added to the injury report with an apparent knee injury after opening the week without a listed practice status Wednesday. The running back turned five carries into 20 yards and reeled in all three of his targets for 30 yards during the team's 33-27 win over the Buccaneers in Week 1, but he may have suffered a knee injury at some point during the contest. Perine will have another chance to practice Friday, but if he can't go Sunday against Houston, Tahj Brooks would stand to operate as the team's primary backup option behind Chase Brown in Cincinnati's backfield.

Bengals' Samaje Perine: Efficient in Week 1 win
Perine rushed five times for 20 yards and caught all three targets for 30 yards in a 33-27 win over Tampa Bay on Sunday.
Perine was the only Bengals running back besides starter Chase Brown (16-56-1 rushing line) to record a carry, and the former also finished with Cincinnati's third-highest receiving yardage total. Perine fell off quite a bit as a pass catcher last year, finishing with just 17 receptions for 87 yards over 15 games, so his usage in that capacity Sunday was promising in terms of his potential fantasy value. The Bengals next make a trip to Houston, and though the Texans were one of the league's best defenses last year, they gave up 409 total yards to Buffalo on Sunday.

Bengals' Samaje Perine: Backing up Brown
Perine is listed as the No. 2 RB behind Chase Brown on the Bengals' unofficial depth chart.
In Cincinnati's preseason opener versus the Lions on Aug. 13, Perine was involved on the two drives in which Joe Burrow was leading the offense, and the running back had a seven-yard carry and gathered in both targets for 12 yards. While spelling Brown out of the backfield in 2025, Perine recorded 469 yards from scrimmage and three rushing TDs on 101 touches in 15 regular-season games. A similar workload can be expected from Perine in the coming campaign.

Bengals' Samaje Perine: Continues to back up Brown
Perine didn't see any action in Saturday's exhibition contest against the Bears.
The same applies to starting RB Chase Brown, which allowed the players looking to secure depth slotting behind the top duo to make their cases for roles ahead of Week 1. Perine is coming off a 2025 regular-season in which he recorded 382 yards and three touchdowns on 84 carries, while adding 17 catches for 87 yards. As long as Brown remains healthy, Perine has minimal fantasy lineup value, but in the event that Brown misses time for any reason, the former would likely be in line to claim enough volume to merit streaming consideration, though it's also possible 2025 sixth-rounder Tahj Brooks would also factor in.
