  • Jullian Taylor: Reaches injury settlement

    The Vikings waived Taylor (undisclosed) from injured reserve with an injury settlement Tuesday, Craig Peters of the Vikings' official site reports. Taylor reverted to the Vikings' IR last week after being waived with an injury designation, but he'll be eligible to play in 2022 after reaching a settlement. It's not yet clear what injury Taylor is dealing with, but he'll be free to sign elsewhere once he's healthy.

    Taylor is fully recovered from a torn ACL suffered in Week 13 of the 2019 season, Jordy McElroy of USA Today reports. Taylor spent all of 2020 on the 49ers' PUP list, then was waived by the Titans with an injury designation after signing with them in the 2021 offseason. Now healthy, Taylor will work to make the most of his opportunity with the Vikings.

    Taylor (knee) signed a one-year deal with the Vikings on Thursday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Taylor will join his third team in as many years after previously being waived by the 49ers and Titans respectively. The defensive tackle has not played since suffering a torn ACL in December 2019 but will get another chance with the Vikings whose new general manager, Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, helped draft Taylor with San Francisco back in 2018.

Taylor suffered a torn ACL in December of 2019, as he was unable to suit up during the 2020 season. The 2018 seventh-round pick has suited up in 12 total games in his career, supplying 16 tackles (11 solo) and one fumble recovery over that span.

    Taylor is dealing with a ligament issue in his elbow and is expected to miss a few games, Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Taylor presumably suffered the injury in Sunday's loss to the Ravens. Assuming he misses at least two games, his earliest potential return date would be in Week 16 versus the Rams. In his absence, Sheldon Day figures to see an increased workload providing depth on the interior defensive line.
