    Smart signed a reserve/future contract with the Jets on Tuesday, Ethan Greenberg of the team's official website reports. Smart went back and forth between the Jets' active roster and their practice squad throughout the 2023 campaign, recording two tackles while appearing in four contests. He'll now have another shot at carving out a permanent spot on the team's active roster in 2024.

The veteran defensive tackle has bounced back and forth between the Jets' active roster and practice squad, and he's now in line to make his third appearance of the year Sunday.     Smart signed a contract with the Bills on Sunday, Maddy Glab of the team's official site reports. The Rams drafted Smart in the sixth round of the 2017 NFL Draft, and the defensive tackle was deployed in a reserve role over three seasons. He compiled 21 tackles and a pass breakup over 31 games. He'll seek a similar role with the Bills, but he'll have a tough battle behind one of the league's top defensive lines.

    Smart has been waived by the Rams, NFL.com reports. Smart was taken by the Rams in the sixth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He suited up for 13 games in 2019 but only accumulated seven tackles (two solo) during that time. The 25-year-old will now have to set his sights on a new opportunity.
