  • Kylie Fitts: Retires due to health concerns

Fitts announced his retirement Friday. Fitts suffered a concussion midway through the 2021 season and was unable to return. He cited the severity of the injury as his reason for ending his playing career. Fitts spent the last three seasons with Arizona while contributing on special teams, and he racked up a total of 15 tackles across his four-year career.

  • Cardinals' Kylie Fitts: Out for season

Fitts (concussion) announced via his Instagram account that he will be out for the remainder of the 2021 season. Fitts appeared in all six games for the Cardinals this season and recorded two solo tackles. His absence shouldn't affect Arizona's defensive rotations, but he will likely be missed on special teams.

  • Cardinals' Kylie Fitts: Pens one-year deal in Arizona

Fitts signed a one-year contract with the Cardinals on Thursday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports. Fitts was an exclusive-rights free agent, so he had little choice but to sign his tender offer. He isn't a candidate to emerge as a fantasy asset in IDP formats, but his presence as a depth defensive player and special-teams asset will be notable for Arizona.

  • Cardinals' Kylie Fitts: Lands on injured reserve

Fitts (undisclosed) was placed on injured reserve Monday. Fitts missed Week 15 with a hamstring injury but returned to the lineup for this past Saturday's loss to the 49ers. The Cardinals didn't reveal the reason Fitts was placed on IR, but it's likely related to the prior hamstring issue. Fitts will be eligible to return if the Cardinals make it to the NFC Championship.

  • Cardinals' Kylie Fitts: Can't go Week 15

Fitts (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game versus the Eagles, Katherine Fitzgerald of The Arizona Republic reports. This injury popped up Thursday, and the third-year linebacker watched from the sidelines during Friday's session. Fitts rarely plays on defense, so his absence will mainly affect the Cardinals' special-teams coverage.

  • Cardinals' Kylie Fitts: Unavailable for Week 6

Fitts (hamstring) has been ruled out for Monday's game versus the Cowboys, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports. Fitts was unable to practice this week and will predictably sit out as a result. The 26-year-old is expected to start at outside linebacker moving forward with Chandler Jones (biceps) on injured reserve, but for the time being, Dennis Gardeck (foot) likely will take over if he's healthy.

  • Kylie Fitts: Hits waivers

The Bears waived Fitts on Friday, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports. Fitts played in six games as a rookie last year, working both on defense and special teams. The Bears have a deep linebacker corps after adding Kevin Pierre-Louis and Josh Woods this offseason, and those two acquisitions pushed Fitts off of the 53-man roster.
