  • Lions' Halapoulivaati Vaitai: Likely done for season

Vaitai (back) is unlikely to play again this season, according to head coach Dan Campbell, Justin Rogers of The Detroit News reports. Vaitai was placed on IR on Tuesday due to a back injury that forced him to miss Sunday's win over the Chargers and is related to the back issue that caused him to miss last season. Graham Glasgow will continue to start in his place moving forward, including Week 11 against the Bears.

  • Lions' Halapoulivaati Vaitai: Now headed to IR

Detroit placed Vaitai (back) on its injured reserve list Tuesday. The transaction means Vaitai will be forced to miss at least the Lions' next four games. Graham Glasgow figures to start at right guard until Vaitai is ready to play again.

  • Lions' Halapoulivaati Vaitai: Won't play Sunday

Vaitai (back) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Chargers. Vaitai went from limited participation at Wednesday's practice to DNPs on both Thursday and Friday, so it's no surprise that the 30-year-old offensive lineman will miss this Sunday's contest. Colby Sorsdal is expected to make the start at right guard in Vaitai's stead.

  • Lions' Halapoulivaati Vaitai: Will play Sunday

Vaitai (knee) is active Sunday against the Panthers. Vaitai will return to action after missing each of the team's last two games after he suffered a knee injury during a loss to the Seahawks in Week 2. He should resume his role as the team's starter at right guard.

  • Lions' Halapoulivaati Vaitai: Questionable Sunday

Vaitai (knee) is listed as questionable going into Sunday's game against the Panthers. Vaitai seems to be trending in the right direction to play, as he went from a limited participant during Wednesday's and Thursday's practices to a full participant Friday. The 30-year-old has missed Detroit's last two games, and if he's unable to suit up once again, Graham Glasgow will likely continue starting at right guard.

  • Lions' Halapoulivaati Vaitai: Won't play Sunday

Vaitai (knee) is inactive Sunday against the Falcons. Vaitai was ruled out Saturday, so his appearance on the inactive list does not come as a surprise. Graham Glasgow should draw the start at right guard.

  • Lions' Halapoulivaati Vaitai: Expects to avoid IR

Coach Dan Campbell said Monday he doesn't expect Vaitai (knee) to go on injured reserve, Colton Pouncy of The Athletic reports. After he was helped off the field with a knee injury during Sunday's 37-31 overtime loss versus Seattle, Campbell's comments represent good news for Vaitai. Whether he'll be available for Week 3 is still very much in question though, and if he misses more time, veteran Graham Glasgow should continue to fill in at right guard.

  • Lions' Halapoulivaati Vaitai: Helped off field

Vaitai exited Sunday's game against the Seahawks with a knee injury. Vaitai limped off the field with the aid of trainers and had trouble putting pressure on his left leg, according to Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site. Graham Glasgow has taken over at right guard.

  • Lions' Halapoulivaati Vaitai: Playing with first-team offense

Vaitai (back) was spotted working with the starting offensive line at Lions camp Sunday, Tim Twentyman of the team's official site reports. Vaitai has been dealing with a back injury that held him out of the 2022 season but has since had time to move past the issue. The veteran guard also still seems to hold a starting spot on the offensive line after Evan Brown, who filled in for him last season, signed with Seattle this offseason.

  • Lions' Halapoulivaati Vaitai: Takes pay cut

Vaitai (back) recently agreed to a reduced salary to remain with the Lions, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports. Overpaid by Detroit's previous front office, Vaitai is expected to compete with Graham Glasgow for the starting job at right guard once recovered from a back injury that sidelined him for the entire 2022 season.
