  • Cardinals' Charles Washington: Lands on IR

The Cardinals placed Washington (hamstring) on injured reserve Wednesday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official website reports. Washington suffered the injury during Sunday's contest against the Jaguars. The 28-year-old has been a special-teams ace for the Cardinals since 2019, but his absence shouldn't have an effect on Arizona's defensive rotations. In a corresponding move, the Cardinals signed Antonio Hamilton to their active roster.

  • Cardinals' Charles Washington: Off COVID-19 list, back practicing

Washington was removed from the COVID-19 list Monday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports. Washington was deemed a close contact to a player who caught COVID-19, so he was cleared quickly after a few negative tests. The fifth year defender appeared in 15 games for the Cardinals last season, mostly in a special-teams capacity. He will likely garner a similar role this year.

  • Cardinals' Charles Washington: Out again Sunday

Washington (shoulder) is out for Sunday's game against the Falcons, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports. Washington was unable to practice for the third straight week, forcing him to be ruled out yet again. The safety's role for the Cardinals is mostly on special teams, so his absence should not significantly effect Arizona's defensive performance.

  • Lions' Charles Washington: Out for Week 15

Washington (hamstring) won't play in Sunday's game versus the Bills, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports. Washington has suited up for 29 straight games dating back to the beginning of the 2017 season, but the streak will end this week. His absence will be felt on special teams, as he hasn't played a snap on defense this year.
