  • Rangers' MacKenzie Gore: Yields three homers in loss

Gore (2-2) allowed five runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out five over five innings to take the loss Sunday versus the Mariners.

Gore's control issues from his previous outing didn't return in this one, as he threw 61 of 90 pitches for strikes. However, the Mariners were able to tee off against him, beginning with Rob Refsnyder's solo shot to open the bottom of the first. J.P. Crawford and Randy Arozarena also had two-run blasts in the game, making it Gore's worst outing of the season in terms of runs allowed. The southpaw has been passable to open his Rangers tenure, posting a 4.15 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 35:12 K:BB over 26 innings across his first five starts with his new team. The strikeout upside is there, but Gore's also carried a high walk rate often in his career, and this season's 4.2 BB/9 is an extension of that trend. His next start is projected to be at home versus the Athletics.

  • Mariners' Josh Naylor: Idle for series finale

Naylor is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers.

With a tough lefty (MacKenzie Gore) on the hill for Texas and with the Mariners and Rangers wrapping up their series with a day game, Naylor will be handed his second day off of the season. Connor Joe will enter the starting nine as Naylor's replacement at first base.

  • Rangers' MacKenzie Gore: Battles control in loss

Gore (2-1) took the loss against the Athletics on Tuesday, allowing two runs on three hits and six walks while striking out five batters over 4.2 innings.

It's somewhat impressive that Gore was able to emerge with just two runs allowed on his stat line given the six walks. The Rangers left six of the batters who reached against the lefty on base, but the two runs they scored against him were enough to get the victory. Gore hadn't previously had control problems this season -- he allowed a tolerable five walks over 16.1 innings across his first three starts -- but he did struggle with walks during the second half of last year, so it's something to keep an eye on. His overall 3.00 ERA and 30:11 K:BB through 21 frames to begin the campaign remain promising.

  • Rangers' MacKenzie Gore: Dominant in second win

Gore (2-0) earned the win Wednesday over the Mariners, allowing just one hit and two walks over five scoreless innings. He struck out nine.

Gore turned in his best outing of the young season Wednesday, as he mowed through the Seattle lineup before leaving the game after five innings and 82 pitches while punching out nine in a second straight outing. Through three starts with Texas, Gore's ERA sits at 2.76 with an impressive 0.86 WHIP and 25:5 K:BB across 16.1 innings. The left-hander is currently lined up to face the A's on the road his next time out.

  • Rangers' MacKenzie Gore: Strikes out nine in no-decision

Gore did not factor into the decision in Friday's 5-3 loss to the Reds, allowing three runs on six hits and no walks with nine strikeouts over six innings.

Gore surrendered all three runs via the long ball but still turned in his first quality start in a Rangers uniform. The southpaw threw 57 of 88 pitches for strikes and generated 13 whiffs in a second straight solid outing with his new club. He's allowed five earned runs through 11.1 innings with a 16:3 K:BB and lines up for a home matchup against the Mariners next week.

  • Rangers' MacKenzie Gore: Earns win in Rangers debut

Gore (1-0) earned the win Sunday over the Phillies, allowing two runs on two hits and three walks across 5.1 innings. He struck out seven.

It was an impressive debut for Gore, who held the Phillies hitless through his first five innings before he was charged with a pair of runs in the sixth after allowing two singles and a walk. Despite the rocky finish, it was an encouraging showing from the left-hander, who posted a 4.17 ERA with a 1.35 WHIP and 185:64 K:BB across 30 starts (159.2 innings) in an up-and-down 2025 campaign with the Nationals. Gore is tentatively lined up to face the Reds at home in his next outing.

  • Rangers' MacKenzie Gore: Pitches into fifth inning

Gore followed up his worst Cactus League start with his best one Monday. After allowing seven runs, six hits and three walks over 1.2 innings in his previous outing, the left-hander was sharper the fourth time out. The southpaw is ramping up for his first season for Texas since being acquired from the Nationals in January.
