  • Blues' Alexei Toropchenko: Out for at least six weeks

Toropchenko (upper body) will miss at least six weeks, the team announced Sunday.

Toropchenko sustained the injury in Friday's 4-0 win over Dallas. He missed Saturday's 6-1 loss to Colorado and is facing an extended absence. With Toropchenko unavailable, Dillon Dube, Zach Dean and Ross Johnston will compete for playing time.

  • Bruins' Michael Eyssimont: Hits waivers Sunday

Eyssimont was placed on waivers by the Bruins on Sunday.

Eyssimont made the Bruins' Opening Night roster out of training camp as the 13th forward. However, he was placed on waivers for the purpose of assignment to AHL Providence on Sunday in a move that could have been a precedent to Boston activating Matthew Poitras (lower body) from injured reserve. Regardless of the move's purpose, Eyssimont is a solid player who posted eight goals and 18 points across 56 regular-season outings in 2025-26. He will await his future over the next 24 hours, and if he goes unclaimed, he'll return to the Bruins' organization.

  • Sharks' Patrick Giles: Goes on waivers

Giles (upper body) was placed on waivers Sunday, per Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.

Giles was hurt during the preseason, but he is ready to return to action. If he clears waivers, Giles will likely report to AHL San Jose.

  • Kent Johnson C | CLB

Blue Jackets' Kent Johnson: Tallies lone goal in loss

Johnson scored a goal on five shots in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Mammoth.

Johnson has a goal, an assist, six shots and a plus-1 rating over two games this season. The 23-year-old struggled to just 22 points in 76 outings in 2025-26, compared to a 24-goal, 57-point effort in 68 games the year before. The reality likely lies between those two marks -- Johnson should be around 40-50 points in a bounce-back campaign. He has usage on his side this year, with a top-line job alongside Adam Fantilli and Matthew Knies proving fruitful early in the season. For fantasy purposes, Johnson will only help in the scoring categories.

  • Owen Tippett RW | PHI

Flyers' Owen Tippett: Pots goal in overtime loss

Tippett scored a goal on three shots, doled out three hits and added two PIM in Saturday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Hurricanes.

Tippett tied the game at 1-1 in the first period. The 27-year-old winger has a goal, nine shots, 13 hits and an even plus-minus rating across three contests this season while filling a middle-six role with power-play time. The Flyers' slow start to the campaign has left the line combinations jumbled, so a top-six job is up for grabs if Tippett can gain some momentum. He produced 51 points, 220 shots and 166 hits over 81 regular-season outings in 2025-26.

  • Hurricanes' Shayne Gostisbehere: Strikes for game-winner in overtime

Gostisbehere scored a power-play goal on four shots and added two PIM in Saturday's 3-2 overtime win over the Flyers.

Gostisbehere's first point of the season came at a great time, as he cashed in on the man advantage in overtime. The 33-year-old defenseman has added five shots on net, two blocked shots and a minus-2 rating. Gostisbehere is in his usual role this year, seeing time on the third pairing and first power-play unit as an offensive specialist. Since Alexander Nikishin (contract dispute) reportedly wants out of Carolina, Gostisbehere looks to have no serious competition for his power-play duties.

  • Owen Michaels RW | EDM

Oilers' Owen Michaels: Scores again Saturday

Michaels scored a goal on three shots in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Kraken.

Michaels opened the scoring at 2:51 of the first period on a snipe from the bottom of the left-wing faceoff circle. The 24-year-old has taken advantage of his opportunities early in the year, with two goals, four shots, three hits and two blocked shots over three contests. He'll continue to fill in on the third line while the Oilers wait for injured forwards to return.

  • Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Scores go-ahead goal

Draisaitl scored a goal on five shots and went plus-2 in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Kraken.

Draisaitl's tally at 17:33 of the third period stood as the game-winner. The 30-year-old has three goals, two assists, 15 shots and a plus-4 rating across three contests this season. Draisaitl is also playing on the right wing on Edmonton's top line, so he could gain positional versatility in fantasy this year if he continues to stick in that spot while the Oilers deal with numerous injuries.

  • Kris Letang D | PIT

Penguins' Kris Letang: Dishes pair of helpers in win

Letang recorded a pair of assists, including one on the power play, and added three shots on goal in Saturday's 6-5 overtime win over the Canadiens.

Letang has opened the campaign with three helpers, seven shots on net, two hits and a plus-2 rating over two contests. The defenseman is still seeing a decent share of playing time, but he's been listed on the third pairing alongside Trevor van Riemsdyk. Letang seeing a role reduction at 39 years old shouldn't come as a surprise. There's a chance he'll be able to do more on offense with less ice time, but he's been under the 40-point mark in each of the last two years, so there's still moderate risk for fantasy managers.

  • Penguins' Erik Karlsson: Picks up pair of assists

Karlsson recorded two assists, including one on the power play, and went plus-2 in Saturday's 6-5 overtime win over the Canadiens.

Karlsson helped out on second-period tallies by Declan Carlile and Ben Kindel. The 36-year-old Karlsson has started well this season with three helpers (two on the power play), three shots on net, two blocked shots and a plus-3 rating over two games. The defenseman is seeing time on the top pairing and first power-play unit, putting him in prime position to continue racking up points.
