  • Hurricanes' Brandon Bussi: Patrolling home crease

Bussi will guard the home crease in Tuesday's preseason contest against the Panthers, per Cory Lavalette of the North State Journal.

Bussi will get his first reps of preseason action Tuesday after Pyotr Kochetkov played in the team's opener. The 28-year-old Bussi was the surprise of the 2025-26 NHL season, where he posted a 31-6-2 record, a 2.47 GAA and an .894 save percentage across 39 regular-season games. He's coming off a solid postseason as well, where he anchored the Hurricanes in the final four games of the Stanley Cup. He's in line to serve as the team's top option between the pipes to open the 2026-27 campaign.

  • Penguins' Arturs Silovs: Guarding home crease Tuesday

Silovs will get the home start against Detroit for Tuesday's preseason contest, per Dan Potash of SportsNet Pittsburgh.

Head coach Dan Muse stated that Silovs will play the full game Tuesday. The 25-year-old netminder is coming off a solid first full campaign in the NHL, where he posted a 19-12-8 record, a 3.07 GAA and an .887 save percentage across 39 regular-season outings. Because the team chose to extend him in July to a one-year deal, he likely has an inside track to make the roster ahead of Opening Night. However, both Sergei Murashov and Joel Blomqvist will post challenges to his playing time, making Silovs a hit-or-miss fantasy option to begin the 2026-27 campaign.

  • Ilya Sorokin G | NYI

Islanders' Ilya Sorokin: Tending twine Tuesday

Sorokin will patrol the road crease in Tuesday's preseason contest against the Rangers, per Stefen Rosner of NHL.com.

Sorokin will make his 2026-27 preseason debut against the Isles' in-state rival Tuesday after Vitek Vanecek played in the preseason opener. The 31-year-old Sorokin was excellent in 2025-26, when he compiled a 29-24-2 record, a 2.68 GAA, a .906 save percentage and seven shutouts across 55 regular-season games. With the Islanders getting Kyle Palmieri back from injury and the team expecting to welcome a plethora of high-ceiling young talent to the roster, Sorokin could see his win total rise in the 2026-27 campaign.

  • Dan Vladar G | PHI

Flyers' Dan Vladar: Patrolling road crease Tuesday

Vladar will start on the road against Boston for Tuesday's preseason contest, per Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia.

Head coach Rick Tocchet stated that Vladar will play in the first two periods of Tuesday's clash before Aleksei Kolosov tends the road crease in the third. Vladar is coming off a career year in 2025-26, where he exploded for a 29-14-7 record, a 2.42 GAA and a .906 save percentage across 52 regular-season outings. He has provided stability to Philadelphia's crease, and the team invested in a quality backup option in Joseph Woll to fill the gaps when Vladar needs rest. The 29-year-old Vladar might have peaked late, but he remains a solid fantasy option in all formats heading into the 2026-27 campaign.

  • Jets' Stuart Skinner: Shines in Jets debut

Skinner halted 31 of 32 shots on net in Monday's 3-1 preseason win over the Avalanche.

Skinner excelled in his debut with Winnipeg, as he upheld a shutout through the first 54 minutes of the contest. Across 50 regular-season appearances in 2025-26, he posted a 23-17-9 record, a 2.92 GAA and an .888 save percentage. The 27-year-old netminder has been the victim of mixed opinions over the past few seasons, but he's currently looking sharp as the projected No. 1 option between the pipes to open the season due to Connor Hellebuyck (suspension) absence from the team. Provided Hellebuyck doesn't rejoin the Jets, Skinner looks poised to handle a hefty workload in the 2026-27 campaign.

  • Sabres' Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen: Slated to start Tuesday

Luukkonen is expected to start between the pipes at home in Tuesday's preseason contest against the Blue Jackets, per Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550.

Luukkonen is set make his first appearance of the 2026-27 preseason after fellow netminders Alex Lyon and Colten Ellis appeared in the team's opener. The 27-year-old Luukkonen had a bounce-back season in 2025-26, where he posted a 22-9-3 record, a 2.51 GAA and a .909 save percentage across 35 regular-season outings. Head coach Lindy Ruff stated that he plans to implement a timeshare in net to start the 2026-27 campaign, which will cap Luukkonen's fantasy ceiling. However, if he can impress early on and separate himself from Lyon and Ellis, Luukkonen has proven that he can handle a large workload, which could lead to fantasy success in standard leagues.

  • Joseph Woll G | PHI

Flyers' Joseph Woll: Allows three goals in exhibition game

Woll conceded three goals on 19 shots in Monday's 5-2 preseason loss to the Capitals.

Woll will probably play in one more game before the start of the regular season -- the Flyers' preseason schedule wraps up Saturday against the Capitals. The Missouri native is set to work as the No. 2 option behind Dan Vladar this season, but it could be a closer split than most would expect to keep both netminders fresh.

  • Capitals' Charlie Lindgren: Stops 12 shots Monday

Lindgren made 12 saves on 14 shots during Monday's 5-2 preseason win over the Flyers.

Lindgren was replaced by Clay Stevenson midway through this game. The 32-year-old Lindgren is the clear-cut backup to No. 1 goaltender Logan Thompson, but Lindgren should be a decent option when he's in net for fantasy managers on what is expected to be a strong and revamped Washington club.

  • Alex Lyon G | BUF

Sabres' Alex Lyon: Surrenders three goals in preseason action

Lyon allowed three goals on 19 shots in Monday's 4-1 preseason loss to the Penguins. The fourth goal was an empty-netter.

Lyon allowed two goals at even strength and one on the power play in the Sabres' preseason opener. The veteran netminder wasn't at his best in this game, specifically on the game's opening goal, which was scored by Connor Dewar. Lyon will almost certainly see more action during Buffalo's preseason schedule, which concludes at home Saturday against Pittsburgh.

  • Blackhawks' Spencer Knight: Allows three goals in OT win

Knight turned aside 19 shots on 22 tries in Monday's 4-3 overtime preseason win over Minnesota.

Knight made his preseason debut Monday, where he ran into trouble in the third period before shoring up his defenses down the stretch in the OT win. The 25-year-old netminder is coming off an up-and-down campaign, where he posted a 19-25-11 record, a 2.82 GAA, a .902 save percentage and three shutouts across 55 regular-season appearances. Considering it was his first full season as a starter and Chicago invested in its defensive core by bringing in Bowen Byram, Knight could see his numbers rise during the 2026-27 campaign.
