  • Panthers' Jacob Markstrom: Facing Wild

Markstrom will patrol the home crease against Minnesota on Saturday, Jameson Olive of the Panthers' official site reports.

In his previous three starts this season, Markstrom has allowed only four goals on 55 shots and has posted a 2-0-1 record. He is coming off a 19-save effort in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Kings. Minnesota (2-1-1) has scored 11 goals in four games this campaign.

  • Red Wings' Daniil Tarasov: Debuts for Detroit in relief

Tarasov halted eight of the nine shots on net he saw in Friday's 6-3 loss to Seattle.

Tarasov made his regular-season debut for the Red Wings on Friday, where he entered the contest late in the second period in relief of John Gibson. From the point Tarasov entered the contest to the end of the game, he kept the score even at one goal apiece. The 27-year-old goalie is looking for a fresh start in Motor City, as he struggled at times with the Panthers in 2025-26, compiling a 13-15-3 record, a 3.05 GAA and an .895 save percentage across 33 regular-season starts. Tarasov is slated to make his first start for the Wings against Montreal on Saturday, but he's a risky fantasy option until Detroit can turn things around defensively.

  • John Gibson G | DET

Red Wings' John Gibson: Gets the hook Friday

Gibson turned away 10 of the 15 shots on net he saw in Friday's 6-3 loss to the Kraken.

Gibson was removed from Friday's contest after he conceded Seattle's fifth goal of the night just over 14 minutes into the second period. The 33-year-old netminder didn't receive much support defensively, but Friday's outing was his weakest statistically across four outings this season, where he has a 1-3-0 record, a 3.43 GAA and an .862 save percentage. Until the Red Wings can shore up their defenses, the veteran goalie might struggle to find consistency in fantasy for the time being. However, he's the clear No. 1 option in Detroit, and while Daniil Tarasov might start to see a handful of starts, Gibson should see a plethora of opportunities between the pipes in an effort to turn things around.

  • Kraken's Philipp Grubauer: Faces high volume in win

Grubauer stopped 37 of 40 shots on net in Friday's 6-3 win over the Red Wings.

Grubauer earned his first win of the 2026-27 campaign Friday, where he faced a barrage of shots from Detroit's offense and held up well. Across three appearances to begin the new season, he has been solid with a 1-1-0 record, a 2.59 GAA and a .917 save percentage over 72 shots on goal. While Joey Daccord still holds the starting job in Seattle, Friday's outing was a step in the right direction for the 34-year-old Grubauer in creating a true timeshare. Expect Grubauer to see a floor of 30 appearances in 2026-27, and when he is called upon to start, he's a solid streaming option for fantasy managers in a bind.

  • Canadiens' Alexis Cournoyer: Earns shutout Friday

Cournoyer posted a 13-save shutout in the University of Wisconsin's 4-0 win over Minnesota State University.

Cournoyer has won both of his games with Wisconsin to start the year, and this was his first shutout. He transferred from Cornell University over the summer after going 18-10-0 with a 2.05 GAA and a .915 save percentage in 28 games as a freshman last year. Cournoyer is a Canadiens prospect -- he was selected in the fifth round in 2025.

  • Jets' Clay Stevenson: Poor showing in second start

Stevenson stopped 12 of 16 shots in Friday's 5-1 loss to the Ducks. The fifth goal was an empty-netter.

Stevenson didn't face a lot of traffic, but the Ducks' fourth line scored the first two goals of the game. It didn't get better from there, leaving the 27-year-old with the Jets' first regulation loss of the year. He's allowed six goals on 47 shots while going 1-1-0 through his first two outings this season. Expect Stuart Skinner to be back between the pipes against the Wild on Tuesday.

  • Lukas Dostal G | ANA

Ducks' Lukas Dostal: Cruises to win over Jets

Dostal stopped 15 of 16 shots in Friday's 5-1 win over the Jets.

Dostal didn't face much traffic in this contest, earning his third win in four starts on the year. The lone blemish on his line was a Kyle Connor tally midway through the third period. Dostal has allowed 11 goals on 94 shots while going 3-1-0 so far. He'll likely get some rest Saturday against the Flames, which will probably be Ville Husso's first start of the campaign, but Dostal's starting role is not in doubt in the long run.

  • Penguins' Sergei Murashov: Tested often in shootout loss

Murashov stopped 43 of 45 shots in Friday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Blue Jackets.

Murashov was kept busy in this outing, but he was able to steal a standings point with a good performance. The 22-year-old netminder has allowed just five goals on 80 shots over two outings this season, but he has a 0-1-1 record to show for it. Murashov and Arturs Silovs may settle into splitting the workload if both are playing well. Expect Silovs to get the nod for Saturday's home game versus the Stars.

  • Cam Talbot G | CLB

Blue Jackets' Cam Talbot: Steady in shootout win

Talbot stopped 20 of 22 shots in Friday's 3-2 shootout win over the Penguins.

Talbot put in a good effort in his first start of the season. The 39-year-old netminder also turned aside all three of Pittsburgh's shootout attempts. Talbot got the start because this was the first half of a back-to-back, making it likely Jet Greaves will be between the pipes in St. Louis on Saturday. Talbot is likely to handle the backup role throughout the campaign.

  • Capitals' Logan Thompson: Stops 21 shots in win Friday

Thompson stopped 21 of 22 shots in Friday's 3-1 win over the Rangers.

Thompson delivered a strong performance between the pipes, finishing with a .955 save percentage while allowing only a first-period power-play goal to Alexis Lafreniere. The Capitals' netminder was perfect over the final two periods, allowing Washington to erase its early deficit and secure the victory. Thompson has won his three starts this season while posting a save percentage of .900 or higher each time. In his three starts, the 29-year-old has stopped 79 of 85 shots faced, good for a .929 save percentage.
