  • Rangers' Vincent Iorio: Injured in Monday's exhibition

Iorio sustained a lower-body injury during Monday's 3-2 preseason loss to New Jersey, per Colin Stephenson of Newsday.

Iorio logged just 11:52 of ice time Monday, and following the contest, he was mentioned to have been dealing with a lower-body issue. The 23-year-old blueliner spent a solid chunk of time in the majors during 2025-26, where he posted three assists, 15 shots on goal, 15 hits and 29 blocked shots across 27 regular-season outings between the Sharks and Rangers. If Iorio's injury isn't serious, he'll likely have just under a week to earn an NHL roster spot in the Rangers' defensive core before the start of the season. He'll continue to battle against the team's other right-handed defensemen, such as Braden Schneider, Scott Morrow and Dennis Cholowski.

  • Nick Jensen D | ANA

Ducks' Nick Jensen: Good to go for training camp Tuesday

Jensen (lower body) will return to practice Tuesday.

Jensen didn't play in Saturday's scrimmage after leaving practice early Friday, but he was seemingly nursing a minor injury. The Ducks are very thin on the right side of their blue line, so Jensen is expected to fill a fairly sizable role in 2026-27. However, he's more of a defensive defenseman, so his fantasy value is very minimal.

  • Dante Fabbro D | CLB

Blue Jackets' Dante Fabbro: Ruled out for remainder of preseason game

Fabbro sustained an upper-body injury during Monday's preseason game against the Red Wings and will not return.

Fabbro didn't play in the second period after logging one block and one hit in 6:58 of ice time in the first. The Blue Jackets will continue their preseason schedule in the second half of a back-to-back Tuesday in Buffalo -- an update on the right-shot blueliner's status might be available before puck drop, though that's not a guarantee.

  • Blackhawks' Derrick Pouliot: Waived by Chicago

Pouliot was placed on waivers by the Blackhawks on Monday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

Pouliot was traded to Chicago from the Rangers in March, and he recorded six assists and a minus-3 rating across 16 appearances with AHL Rockford. After spending the start of training camp with the Blackhawks, he'll land on waivers and will likely report back to the IceHogs if he clears.

  • Tyler Tucker D | STL

Blues' Tyler Tucker: Suffers injury at practice

Tucker (knee) sustained an injury during Sunday's practice, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.

Tucker will be evaluated further soon, but it's believed to be more serious than a day-to-day issue. He collected three goals, 17 points, 68 shots on net, 51 blocked shots, 100 hits and 81 PIM in 69 regular-season appearances for the Blues in 2025-26.

  • Maple Leafs' Morgan Rielly: Ready to rock

Rielly (illness) has recovered from his viral condition and could play in Wednesday's preseason game against Ottawa, according to Lance Hornby of The Toronto Sun on Monday.

Rielly and Darren Raddysh were paired together during Monday's practice. The 32-year-old Rielly earned 11 goals, 36 points, 141 shots on net and 114 blocked shots in 78 appearances during the 2025-26 regular season.

  • Bruins' Charlie McAvoy: Receives whopping 28:35 of ice time Sunday

McAvoy (suspension) logged an even-strength goal on three shots and four PIM in a game-high 28:35 of ice time during Sunday's 3-2 shootout win over the Capitals in preseason play.

McAvoy is set to serve a six-game suspension to begin the year after slashing the Sabres' Zach Benson during the Bruins' first-round series loss last season. While the right-shot defenseman's draft stock may have dipped ever so slightly because of the suspension, fantasy managers should keep in mind that McAvoy is coming off a career-best year (11 goals, 61 points in 69 regular-season games), so don't let him fall too far in upcoming drafts. The 28-year-old is eligible to make his 2026-27 debut Oct. 13 in San Jose.

  • Ducks' Jackson LaCombe: Multi-point showing to begin preseason

LaCombe recorded a goal and an assist on two shots during Sunday's 6-2 preseason win over San Jose.

LaCombe put the Ducks on the board with his goal 2:57 into the first period Sunday, and he also pitched in on Beckett Sennecke's second-period goal. LaCombe appeared in all 82 regular-season games last year and generated 10 goals, 48 assists, 128 blocked shots, 74 hits and 19 PIM while averaging 24:15 of ice time.

  • Wild's Viking Gustafsson-Nyberg: Good to go for Monday

Gustafsson-Nyberg (undisclosed) will be in the lineup for Monday's preseason game in Chicago.

Gustafsson-Nyberg didn't play in Saturday's preseason opener due to soreness, but he is seemingly no worse for wear ahead of Monday's rematch against the Blackhawks. The undrafted defenseman is a long shot to make Minnesota's Opening Night roster, and he should be expected to continue his development with AHL Iowa in 2026-27.

  • Senators' Thomas Chabot: Will miss Monday's clash

Chabot (personal) will miss Monday's preseason opener against the Canadiens, per TSN 1200 Ottawa.

Chabot won't join the Senators for their preseason opener as he and his wife await the birth of their first child. The 29-year-old blueliner posted seven goals, 31 points, 99 shots on net and 11 blocked shots across 57 regular-season outings in 2025-26. He is in contention to fill Ottawa's captain vacancy, alongside fellow blueliner Jake Sanderson and center Tim Stutzle. Regardless of whether Chabot is named captain, he is expected to handle another sizable role in the 2026-27 campaign.
