  • Dylan Cozens C | OTT

Senators' Dylan Cozens: One of each Monday

Cozens scored a goal and dished out an assist in Monday's overtime preseason loss to Montreal.

Cozens played a hand in each of Ottawa's goals on Monday, as he picked up the lone helper on William Eklund's first preseason goal before later scoring himself. The 25-year-old Cozens took a step forward during his first full season with the Senators, as he posted 28 goals, 59 points, 205 shots on net and 215 hits across 82 regular-season games. With Brady Tkachuk's departure to Florida, Cozens will likely have a larger role offensively in 2026-27, which could lead to him building upon his already impressive fantasy file in all league formats.

  • Jack Hughes C | NJ

Devils' Jack Hughes: Scores goal in preseason debut

Hughes potted an even-strength goal on four shots and went plus-1 in 18:20 of ice time in Monday's 3-2 preseason win over the Rangers.

Hughes has played in no more than 62 regular-season games in each of the last three years, though he finished with exactly 27 goals and at least 70 points during those campaigns. The 25-year-old has the talent to be a 100-point player -- he had 99 points across 78 regular-season games in 2022-23 -- but staying healthy has been a problem for Hughes so far in his career. While that's always a concern for fantasy managers, there's no denying the 2019 No. 1 overall pick is a high-end fantasy asset when he's in the lineup.

  • Flyers' Denver Barkey: Hurt against Washington

Barkey (lower body) has been ruled out for the remainder of Monday's exhibition game versus the Capitals.

Per Jackie Spiegel of The Philadelphia Inquirer, Barkey was hit by Washington's Martin Fehervary late in the first period. Barkey took the opening faceoff in the second period, but he skated to the bench after a few seconds and ultimately did not return to the game. Head coach Rick Tocchet might have an update on the forward's status postgame, but Barkey will likely be closely monitored by the Flyers' medical staff in the coming days.

  • Ducks' Ryan Poehling: Cleared for camp return

Poehling (lower body) has been cleared to return to Ducks' training camp.

After missing Friday's practice with a lower-body injury, Poehling was listed on one of Anaheim's two training camp groups ahead of tomorrow's sessions. The 27-year-old center is coming off a career year offensively, where he compiled 11 goals, 36 points, 94 shots on net and 86 blocked shots across 75 regular-season outings. If he can stay healthy throughout the remainder of camp, Poehling will likely open the 2026-27 campaign as one of the Ducks' middle-six centers.

  • Penguins' Ben Kindel: Exits Monday's preseason clash

Kindel (lower body) will not return to Monday's preseason game against the Sabres.

Kindel did not return to Pittsburgh's bench for the start of the second period. The 19-year-old center was a key piece in the Penguins' forward group last season, as he posted 17 goals, 35 points, 151 shots on net and 58 blocked shots across 77 regular-season games. His status will be closely monitored throughout the remainder of the preseason, but even if the injury news comes back as non-serious, Pittsburgh may elect to rest him so the young center is ready to serve in a middle-six center role to open the 2026-27 campaign.

  • Golden Knights' Raphael Lavoie: Considered day-to-day

Lavoie (undisclosed) is day-to-day, per Danny Webster of the Las Vegas Review-Journal on Monday.

Lavoie sustained the injury in Saturday's 4-2 preseason win over the Kings. He notched 30 goals and 56 points in 45 regular-season appearances for AHL Henderson in 2025-26. To be returned to the minors this campaign, the 25-year-old forward would need to clear waivers.

  • Kai Uchacz C | LV

Golden Knights' Kai Uchacz: Labeled week-to-week

Uchacz is considered week-to-week with an undisclosed injury, Danny Webster of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports Monday.

Uchacz played in three regular-season games with the Golden Knights last year in which he failed to record a point while generating two shots, seven hits and five PIM. Even without the injury concerns, Uchacz was unlikely to make the Opening Night roster. Once given the all-clear, the Calgary native figures to end up in AHL Henderson.

  • Kraken's Logan Morrison: Waived by club

Morrison was designated for waivers by the Kraken on Monday.

Morrison hasn't played in an NHL game since 2023-24, when he logged four games for the Kraken. The 24-year-old center put up big numbers last year, generating 29 goals and 32 assists in 68 regular-season tilts with the Firebirds. Still, it wasn't enough to earn him a call-up to the big club. If he does play in any NHL games this year, it will likely be due to injury.

  • John Hayden C | SEA

Kraken's John Hayden: Waived for AHL demotion

Hayden was placed on waivers Monday for the purpose of being reassigned to AHL Coachella Valley.

Hayden notched 13 goals and 11 assists in 67 minor-league appearances for the Firebirds during the 2025-26 regular season. The 31-year-old forward didn't post a point in three NHL outings with Seattle last October.

  • Kraken's JR Avon: Lands on waivers

Avon was placed on waivers for the purpose of reassignment Monday.

Avon has yet to appear in an NHL game, spending the last three seasons in the AHL. Undrafted out of the OHL, the 23-year-old center notched 10 goals and 14 assists in 45 regular-season contests for AHL Coachella Valley before adding eight points in 12 playoff games.
