  • Ducks' Ryan Poehling: Leaves Tuesday's game

Poehling (upper body) won't return to Tuesday's Game 5 versus the Golden Knights. Poehling was hurt on a heavy hit by Brayden McNabb in the first period. For now, Poehling can be considered day-to-day ahead of Thursday's Game 6. If he has to miss time, Jansen Harkins or Frank Vatrano would be the top candidates to enter the lineup.

  • Ducks' Ryan Poehling: Tallies opening goal

Poehling scored a goal on three shots and blocked three shots in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Oilers in Game 6. Poehling, best known for his defensive work, racked up four goals over six games to provide some depth scoring as the Ducks won their first-round series 4-2. He added 12 shots on net, five hits, six blocked shots and a plus-1 rating. On a young roster, Poehling's virtually a seasoned veteran at 27 years old, and he plays a critical role even though his work won't always show up in the box score.

  • Ducks' Ryan Poehling: Squeaks game-winner over line

Poehling scored the game-winning goal on three shots and added two hits in Sunday's 4-3 overtime win over the Oilers in Game 4. Tristan Jarry got a piece of Poehling's shot, but not enough of it. The call on the ice was no goal, but video review was deemed conclusive enough to say the puck was just over the line -- though it was close. The overtime winner will go down as one of the biggest goals of Poehling's career to date. He's tallied three times on seven shots, blocked three shots, doled out four hits and posted a plus-2 rating over four outings this postseason. The 27-year-old continues to handle a heavy defensive load, and he's done well to help the Ducks gain a 3-1 lead in the series.

  • Ducks' Ryan Poehling: Buries two goals in win

Poehling scored twice, once while shorthanded and then into an empty net, in Wednesday's 6-4 win over the Oilers in Game 2. Poehling is a defensive center, and he got the job done on both sides of the ice in this game. He gave the Ducks a 4-2 lead with his second-period shortie before helping secure the win with an empty-netter at 18:50 of the third. In the regular season, Poehling had 11 goals and a career-best 36 points over 75 outings, as well as 86 blocked shots and a plus-8 rating. This is his first playoff run, and he's tasked with shutting down the Oilers' top players, so any offense he can add is a bonus.

  • Ducks' Ryan Poehling: Two-point effort in win

Poehling scored a goal on five shots, added an assist, logged three hits and went plus-3 in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Jets. Poehling has four points over his last four contests. The 27-year-old has made a good impression in his first year with the Ducks, and that earned him a four-year contract extension last week. Poehling is up to eight goals, 27 points, 68 shots on net, 31 hits, 64 blocked shots and a plus-10 rating over 57 appearances. He's well on his way to topping his 31-point total from 68 games with the Flyers last year, but he's no more than a depth option in fantasy.

  • Ducks' Ryan Poehling: Staying in Anaheim

Poehling signed a four-year contract extension with the Ducks on Thursday. Per Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, Poehling's deal is at a $3.75 million AAV. Poehling was a pending unrestricted free agent this summer, but he decided to stick with a team on the rise. The 27-year-old has 24 points in 54 appearances with the Ducks, and he should be a reliable bottom-six center throughout the term of this new deal, which begins in 2026-27.

The 27-year-old forward was listed on the third line Friday but still saw 19:10 of ice time in an 11-forward lineup. He's up to six goals, 23 points, 56 shots on net, 59 blocked shots and a plus-8 rating across 51 appearances. His offense doesn't stand out in standard formats, but he can help in deeper fantasy leagues.
