  • Randall Cobb WR | NYJ

Packers' Randall Cobb: Limited role in opener

Cobb caught the lone pass thrown his direction and tallied one reception for 32 yards in Sunday's 38-3 loss to the Saints.

Cobb was reacquired by the Packers over the offseason to give quarterback Aaron Rodgers another trusty option in the passing game, but Rodgers did not throw even one pass his way Week 1, and the former did not get on the board until backup Jordan Love entered the game. The 15 snaps Cobb played Sunday tied him with Amari Rodgers and Malik Taylor for fourth among the Packers' six wideouts, but they were far fewer than 36 racked up by the receiver who finished third, Marquez Valdes-Scantling.

  • Vikings' Ihmir Smith-Marsette: Limited use on offense

Smith-Marsette did not have a target or carry, but played four snaps on offense in Sunday's loss to the Bengals. He had one kick return for 21 yards.

Smith-Marsette begins the season as the primary kick returner and No. 5 wide receiver. He'll have limited usage on offense unless there are injuries in the receiver corps.

  • 49ers' Trent Sherfield: Hits pay dirt in SF debut

Sherfield had two receptions (three targets) for 23 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 41-33 win over Detroit.

Sherfield had a strong debut with his new club, making a crisp zag route from five yards out before rookie Trey Lance dialed him up for the score. It was fitting that the touchdown came from the arm of Lance, as the two players showed a strong rapport during the preseason, connecting on two plays of 40-plus yards. Sherfield took advantage of Brandon Aiyuk's (hamstring) limited availability, logging one extra offensive snap (27 to 26) than his projected starting teammate. The 25-year-old has showed some promise early on this season, but he may fall back to fourth on the depth chart once Aiyuk is back to full strength.

  • Allen Lazard WR | NYJ

Packers' Allen Lazard: Shut down by Saints

Lazard was targeted four times and caught two passes for 16 yards in Sunday's 38-3 loss to the Saints.

Lazard dropped 146 yards and a score on the Saints when the two teams squared off Week 3 last season, but he did not come close to matching that production this time around. In fantasy circles, he generally was considered the third option among Packers wideouts heading into the season, and after Week 1 that hasn't changed, as even though he played just one fewer snap than Davante Adams and three more than Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Lazard was targeted three fewer times than each of his fellow receivers.

  • Packers' Marquez Valdes-Scantling: Contained in Week 1

Valdes-Scantling was targeted seven times and caught three passes for 17 yards in Sunday's 38-3 loss to the Saints.

Valdes-Scantling led the NFL in yards per reception a season ago, but the Saints prevented him from getting loose for even one big play down the field. On the positive side, Valdes-Scantling did tie Davante Adams for the team lead in targets and was on the field for just four fewer snaps than the Packers' top wideout, so there's reason to believe he can get going Week 2 against the Lions.

  • Deonte Harty WR | BAL

Saints' Deonte Harris: Scores from long range

Harris caught two of two targets for 55 yards and one touchdown during Sunday's 38-3 win over the Packers.

Harris didn't have many pass-catching opportunities on a day the Saints only needed to throw 20 times. However, the speedster cleanly beat Green Bay cornerback Kevin King on both of his targets while doing the majority of his damage on a 55-yard touchdown from Jameis Winston in the fourth quarter. With Michael Thomas (ankle) and Tre'Quan Smith (hamstring) having no chance of returning over the next two weeks, Harris should maintain his sizable role in the Saints offense when New Orleans travels to Carolina in Week 2.

  • Trinity Benson WR | CLE

Lions' Trinity Benson: Six targets in Lions debut

Benson caught three of six targets for 19 yards during Sunday's 41-33 loss to San Francisco.

Despite having been with Detroit for less than two weeks, Benson finished third in offensive snaps amongst Lions receivers thanks to Tyrell Williams (undisclosed) leaving the game in the third quarter. If Williams is forced to miss time, Benson again could handle a large number of snaps Week 2 against Green Bay.

  • Quintez Cephus WR | HOU

Lions' Quintez Cephus: Hits pay dirt

Cephus caught three of seven targets for 12 yards and one touchdown during Sunday's 41-33 loss to San Francisco. He also secured a two-point conversion.

While it's not ideal to average less than two yards per target, Cephus was still one of the bright spots of the Lions offense Sunday. Not only did he make a tough catch on the sideline on a less-than-perfect pass from Jared Goff, Cephus also boxed out a defender for a short touchdown on the goal line before hauling in a two-point conversion at the very edge of the end zone in the fourth quarter. However, it should be noted that the Wisconsin product might not have received as many opportunities if Tyrell Williams (undisclosed) didn't leave the game in the third quarter, as Cephus ultimately finished fifth in snaps among Detroit wideouts behind Williams, Kalif Raymond, Trinity Benson and Amon-Ra St. Brown. Even if Williams misses time, Cephus seems like a touchdown-dependent fantasy option entering Week 2.

  • Kalif Raymond WR | CHI

Lions' Kalif Raymond: Totals 50 yards

Raymond caught three of four passes for 50 yards during Sunday's 41-33 loss to the 49ers.

Raymond ultimately led all Lions receivers in snaps after Tyrell Williams (undisclosed) headed to the locker room at the start of the third quarter. While he finished just sixth in targets on a day when Jared Goff peppered his running backs and tight ends, Raymond at least was on the receiving end of one of Goff's best passes of the game. Regardless of Williams' status for Week 2 against the Packers, the 5-foot-8 receiver seems locked into a key role within the Lions' receiving corps.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Catches two passes

St. Brown caught two of four targets for 23 yards during Sunday's 41-33 loss to the 49ers.

The final numbers for St. Brown weren't great, but they would have been better if Jared Goff didn't miss the rookie while he was streaking down the sideline for a would-be touchdown in the first quarter. However, St. Brown at least finished second in offensive snaps (59) behind Kalif Raymond (69) after Tyrell Williams (undisclosed) was knocked out of the game in the third quarter. If Williams is forced to miss time, St. Brown again could handle a large majority of the offensive snaps when Detroit travels to Green Bay in Week 2.
