  • Russell Gage WR | SF

Buccaneers' Russell Gage: Limited production versus old squad

Gage (back) secured two of six targets for 20 yards and recorded a two-point conversion reception in the Buccaneers' 21-15 win over the Falcons on Sunday.

The veteran played through an injury designation yet again, although this time it was a back issue that cropped up Saturday. Gage played a clear complementary role behind Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and even rookie tight end Cade Otton, the latter of whom finished with a career-best 6-43-0 line on seven targets. Gage appears destined for modest production in a decidedly short-area role under any circumstance, as he's yet to top 87 yards (and that was on 12 catches) in any game and has been held under 30 yards in each of his other four contests.

  • Panthers' Terrace Marshall: Tallies first receptions of 2022

Marshall was on the field for 26 of the Panthers' 69 snaps on offense in Sunday's 37-15 loss to the 49ers, finishing with four receptions for 30 yards on four targets.

While taking the field for just the second time in five games this season, Marshall stepped in as the Panthers' No. 4 wideout ahead of Rashard Higgins while Laviska Shenault (hamstring) was inactive. Though his 7.5 yards per target were better than the Panthers' mark as a team on the day (6.5), it's worth noting that two of Marshall's looks came in garbage time, when P.J. Walker took over under center for Baker Mayfield. Walker should get the chance to start Week 6 against the Rams with Mayfield likely to sit out that game due to a high-ankle sprain, but whether Marshall gets the chance to continue establishing a rapport with Walker will likely hinge on Shenault's availability.

  • Tutu Atwell WR | LAR

Rams' Tutu Atwell: First career catch Sunday

Atwell caught one of two targets for 54 yards in Sunday's 22-10 loss to the Cowboys.

A week after being a healthy scratch, Atwell made the most of his nine snaps on offense, getting in front of cornerback Trevon Diggs and snagging an over-the-shoulder dime from Matthew Stafford for 54 yards to help set up a Matt Gay field goal. Atwell wouldn't see another target after the big play, but the speedster proved that he has the field-stretching speed that Los Angeles needs with Van Jefferson (knee) on IR. In Week 6, the Rams take on a Carolina squad that just axed head coach Matt Rhule and defensive coordinator Phil Snow, which could provide Atwell with more big-play opportunities before a Week 7 bye.

  • Jason Moore WR | DET

Chargers' Jason Moore: No targets in Week 5

Moore played 15 of the Chargers' 69 offensive snaps and didn't draw a target in Sunday's 30-28 win over the Browns.

Since being signed to the 53-man roster Sept. 28, Moore has suited up for both of the Bolts' subsequent two games, but he has yet to record any statistics. Moore hasn't been targeted across his 18 total snaps on offense and will likely see his chances to contribute as a receiver take a further hit whenever Keenan Allen (hamstring) is cleared to play again.

  • Robert Foster WR | NYG

Robert Foster: Signs with Giants' practice squad

The Giants signed Foster (hamstring) to their practice squad Monday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Foster was set to miss the entire 2022 season after being placed on the injured reserve list in August, but he eventually agreed to an injury settlement with the Giants and has now made his way back onto the practice squad. If Kadarius Toney (hamstring), Kenny Golladay (knee) and Wan'Dale Robinson (knee) continue to miss time, it would not be surprising to see Foster elevated soon.

  • Isaiah Hodgins WR | NYG

Bills' Isaiah Hodgins: Highly involved in limited snaps

Hodgins recorded four receptions for 41 yards on six targets while playing 12 snaps on offense in Sunday's 38-3 win over the Steelers.

Suiting up in just his second NFL game after being signed off the practice squad Saturday, Hodgins proved to be a popular target for both Josh Allen and Case Keenum during his limited time on the field. Though he was efficient with his opportunities, Hodgins didn't have a role on special teams in the resounding win, which could be detrimental to his chances of dressing most weeks when the Bills have more healthy receivers available. Isaiah McKenzie (concussion) and Jake Kumerow (ankle) were both sidelined Week 5, and if the two are available for the Bills' Week 6 matchup with the Chiefs, Hodgins may find himself as the sixth man on the depth chart.

  • Rashod Bateman WR | BAL

Ravens' Rashod Bateman: May return Week 6

Coach John Harbaugh said Monday that Bateman (foot) "might be able to come back" Week 6 versus the Giants, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.

Bateman's ankle injury kept him from suiting up for Sunday night's win over the Bengals, but it looks like there's a chance his absence is limited to one game. The second-year pro's participation level on Wednesday's first practice report of the week will reveal more information about his health. It will be a positive sign if Bateman is able to practice on at least a limited basis to start the week.

  • Tim Jones WR | JAC

Jaguars' Tim Jones: Sees playing time trend down

Jones took the field for just one of the Jaguars' 73 offensive snaps in Sunday's 13-6 loss to the Texans.

Jones a second-year player out of Southern Miss, played a season-high 26 snaps on offense in last week's loss to the Eagles, but he saw his field time drop off considerably Week 5 with Zay Jones (ankle) returning from a one-game absence. Though his role on the Jaguars' coverage units was able to help him avoid the inactive list, Tim Jones will continue to see few opportunities on offense while all of Christian Kirk, Zay Jones, Marvin Jones and Jamal Agnew are available to Jacksonville.

  • Patriots' Tyquan Thornton: Catches two passes in debut

In his regular season debut, Thornton was on the field for 25 of possible 60 snaps on offense in Sunday's 29-0 win over the Lions en route to catching two of his three targets for seven yards, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.

The 2022 second-rounder missed New England's first four games due to a collarbone injury, but now that he's back in the mix, Thornton brings added speed to New England's pass-catching corps. However, with Jakobi Meyers, DeVante Parker, Nelson Agholor (hamstring) and Kendrick Bourne also in the team's WR mix, Thornton currently doesn't have a steady path to targets.

  • Patriots' Kendrick Bourne: Catches one pass Sunday

Bourne, who was on the field for a season-high 34 (of a possible 60) snaps on offense in Sunday's 29-0 win over the Lions, per Mike Reiss of ESPN.com, caught his only target in the game for one yard.

Bourne also rushed once for minus-1 yard Sunday, in a contest in which Jakobi Meyers (7-111-1 on eight targets) was clearly QB Bailey Zappe's preferred WR option. With a 10-139-0 line on 13 targets through five games, Bourne will remain off the fantasy radar in all but the deepest of formats until he starts seeing consistent volume.
