Brandin Cooks WR | SF
Texans' Brandin Cooks: Not expected to play Thursday
Cooks (wrist/personal) remains listed as questionable but is not in line to play Thursday against the Eagles, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
While Cooks is tending to a wrist issue that landed him on the injury report last week, it's the wideout's reported frustration about not being dealt ahead of Tuesday's trade deadline that's believed to be the reason for his expected absence Thursday, per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. With Cooks on track to sit Thursday and Nico Collins (groin) already having been ruled out, Phillip Dorsett, Chris Moore and Tyron Johnson are set to lead Houston's wideout corps Week 9. Official confirmation of Cooks' status is set to arrive when the team releases its inactive list approximately 90 minutes prior to Thursday's 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff.

Brandin Cooks WR | SF
Texans' Brandin Cooks: Status for Thursday's game unclear
The availability of Cooks (wrist/personal) for Thursday's game against the Eagles is up in the air, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Cooks, who is officially listed as questionable for the contest, was deemed a non-participant in practices Tuesday and Wednesday. Though he's being listed with the wrist issue, Pelissero suggests that if the wideout doesn't suit up Thursday, it would likely be more related to his reported frustration about not being dealt ahead of Tuesday's trade deadline. In the event that Cooks isn't available versus Philadelphia, Phillip Dorsett and Chris Moore would be in line to lead Houston's wideout corps, given that Nico Collins (groin) already has been ruled out. Official confirmation of Cooks' status will arrive when Houston posts its inactive list 90 minutes before Thursday's 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff.

Isaiah Coulter WR | BUF
Isaiah Coulter: Joins Bills' practice squad
Buffalo signed Coulter to the practice squad Thursday, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
Coulter takes the place of Jared Mayden on the Bills' practice squad. The 24-year-old Coulter was waived by Chicago on Tuesday to make room for trade acquisition Chase Claypool, though he only suited up for two games with the Bears this season. Now, Coulter will get a chance to develop as an emergency reserve option in Buffalo.

Robbie Chosen WR | WAS
Cardinals' Robbie Anderson: Bigger role may be imminent
Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury said Wednesday that he's hopeful Anderson will have a bigger role Sunday against the Seahawks, Jose M. Romero of The Arizona Republic reports.
Since arriving in Arizona from Carolina on Oct. 17, Anderson has played in both of the Cardinals' two games in the meantime, but his usage (19 offensive snaps) and target count (four) have yet to yield any production. Kingsbury specifically said the team will attempt to "force feed" him this weekend, but with wide receivers DeAndre Hopkins and Rondale Moore and tight end Zach Ertz taking on a huge portion of the available targets, Anderson still is waiting for his first catch with his new squad.

Marquise Goodwin WR | CLE
Seahawks' Marquise Goodwin: Dealing with groin issue
Goodwin didn't practice Wednesday due to a groin injury, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Goodwin potentially was in line for a larger role than normal Week 8 versus the Giants, with fellow wide receiver DK Metcalf coming out of Week 7 with a patellar tendon injury and with Tyler Lockett (hamstring/ribs) also being listed questionable ahead of the matchup with New York. However, Metcalf and Lockett were both able to suit up this past Sunday, and Goodwin was limited to a 39 percent snap share and four catches (on five targets) for 33 yards. At this stage, Goodwin seems to be in worse shape than both Metcalf and Lockett, both of whom were limited participants Wednesday. Fortunately for Goodwin, he has two practices left this week to get him on track to suit up Sunday at Arizona.

Tyler Lockett WR | LV
Seahawks' Tyler Lockett: Limited by pair of injuries
Lockett (hamstring/ribs) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Like fellow wide receiver DK Metcalf (knee), Lockett gutted through his own health concerns Week 8 against the Giants, and despite some uncharacteristic faux pas, he finished with five catches (on eight targets) for 63 yards and one touchdown. As the Seahawks kick off preparations for a Week 9 visit to Arizona, Lockett again is tending to hamstring and rib issues, but practice sessions on Thursday and Friday could paint a clearer picture of his upcoming availability.

DK Metcalf WR | PIT
Seahawks' DK Metcalf: Officially limited Wednesday
Metcalf (knee) was a limited practice participant Wednesday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
After Metcalf was carted off the field during a Week 7 win at the Chargers, he eventually was diagnosed with a patellar tendon injury that looked to be something that would force him to miss game action. Instead, he was able practice in a limited capacity last Friday and was deemed questionable for this past Sunday's game against the Giants before actually playing in that contest. Overall, Metcalf had a smaller snap share than normal (63 percent) but still produced to the tune of six catches (on 10 targets) for 55 yards and one touchdown. Having a cap on his reps Wednesday isn't unexpected, and he has a pair of sessions remaining this week before potentially receiving a designation for Sunday's road matchup with the Cardinals.
-
Van Jefferson WR | WAS
Rams' Van Jefferson: Logs limited practice Wednesday
Jefferson (knee) practiced in a limited capacity Wednesday, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
Prior to the session, head coach Sean McVay told Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic that Jefferson was going to be limited, and afterward, the wide receiver was seen working on the side. The team likely is taking a cautious approach with Jefferson after he made his season debut this past Sunday against the 49ers, when he played 55 percent of the Rams' offensive snaps but wasn't targeted. He'll have two more chances this week to get back to full activity before L.A. potentially gives him a designation for Sunday's game at Tampa Bay.
-
Josh Palmer WR | BUF
Chargers' Joshua Palmer: Logs full practice
Palmer (concussion) practiced fully Wednesday, Jeff Miller of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Per Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com, Palmer has reportedly cleared the NFL's concussion protocol, but Miller relays that Chargers head coach Brandon Staley has yet to confirm that the wideout will be available Sunday against the Falcons. Assuming no setbacks during the week of practice, Palmer should be on track to return to action this weekend following a one-game absence. If so, Palmer could be poised for a big role Week 9, with Mike Williams sidelined by an ankle injury and Keenan Allen's status unclear due to a lingering hamstring issue.
-
Russell Gage WR | SF
Buccaneers' Russell Gage: No practice Wednesday
Gage (hamstring) didn't practice Wednesday.
Since injuring his hamstring Week 7 at Carolina, Gage hasn't stepped foot on the practice field. He'll have two more opportunities this week to do so, but if he's unable to get any work in Thursday and/or Friday, he'll be in danger of missing a second game in a row Sunday against the Rams. Julio Jones (knee) also sat out Wednesday's session, while Mike Evans (ankle) was a limited participant. For the moment, Chris Godwin, Scotty Miller, Breshad Perriman and Jaelon Darden are the healthy members of the Buccaneers' receiving corps.
