  • Kazmeir Allen RB | WAS

    Kazmeir Allen: Won't make team

Allen was waived by the Commanders on Tuesday, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.

Allen joined the team as an undrafted free agent out of UCLA in May. After missing OTAs later that month due to a hamstring issue, he was able to take the field for training camp to attempt to earn a roster spot. Ultimately, the 23-year-old was unable to do so and will now have to hope for a spot on the practice squad.

  • Tay Martin WR | DET

Tay Martin: Waived by San Francisco

The 49ers waived Martin on Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Martin signed a reserve/future contract with the 49ers in late January after spending most of the 2022 campaign on the team's practice squad. While he was unable to make the 53-man roster for a second consecutive season, it's possible he rejoins the 49ers' practice squad.

  • Darrius Shepherd : Dropped by Chargers

Shepherd was waived by the Chargers on Monday.

Besides competing for a depth receiver role with the Chargers, Shepherd was also looking to earn returner opportunities. He ultimately came up short, but he will be a candidate to end up on the team's practice squad. The 27-year-old has not suited up for an NFL game since 2020 with the Packers.

  • Browns' Michael Woods: Shifts to different list

Woods (Achilles) was placed on the reserve/non-football injury list Tuesday.

Woods was previously on the active/NFI list, but with no chance of returning in 2023 due to a ruptured Achilles, the move makes sense. The 2022 sixth-round selection will continue to focus on his recovery and making a healthy return in 2024.

  • Jalen Moreno-Cropper: Waived by Dallas

The Cowboys waived Moreno-Cropper on Tuesday, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Moreno-Cropper joined the Cowboys following a promising collegiate career at Fresno State. Although he missed out on a 53-man roster spot, he showed some promise during the offseason and is expected to join the Cowboys' practice squad if he clears waivers.

  • Keelan Cole WR | LV

Keelan Cole: Released by Las Vegas

The Raiders released Cole on Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Cole re-signed with the Raiders this offseason despite posting career-worst numbers (10-141-1) last year. The Raiders released Cole and Phillip Dorsett ahead of the initial 53-man roster deadline Tuesday, but Rapoport notes Las Vegas may sign the veteran wideouts to practice-squad deals before Week 1.

  • Joseph Ngata WR | PHI

Joseph Ngata: Let go by Philadelphia

The Eagles waived Ngata on Tuesday, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.

Ngata joined the Eagles as an undrafted free agent in early May after spending four seasons at Clemson. Although he missed out on the 53-man roster, it's possible he begins the year on the practice squad.

  • Austin Trammell: Cut Tuesday

The Rams waived Trammell on Tuesday.

Trammell took advantage of numerous injuries and appeared in six games for the Rams last year, securing two of four targets for 13 yards. If he clears waivers, the 25-year-old wideout would presumably be a practice-squad candidate.

  • Xavier Smith WR | LAR

    Xavier Smith: Waived by LAR

The Rams waived Smith on Tuesday.

Smith was signed as an undrafted free agent in May, but he'll likely have to start his rookie season on a practice-squad deal after clearing waivers. The Florida A&M product played 24 snaps (15 offensive) during the Rams' preseason finale but wasn't targeted.

  • Seth Williams: Let go Tuesday

The Jaguars waived Williams on Tuesday, John Oehser of the Jaguars' official site reports.

Williams was a sixth-round pick in 2021 by Denver, but he failed to make the Broncos' initial 53-man roster last year after appearing in just two games as a rookie. The wideout spent all of 2022 on Jacksonville's practice squad but was never elevated. Williams could be looking at a similar role in 2023 if he clears waivers.
