  • Blake Proehl WR | MIN

    Blake Proehl: Cut by Minnesota

The Vikings waived Proehl on Tuesday, Andrew Krammer of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Proehl spent the 2021 season on the Vikings' injured reserve after tearing his ACL, and he joined the team's practice squad after returning to full health last year. He was unable to land a spot on the team's 53-man roster ahead of the 2023 campaign, but it's possible he ends up on a practice squad once again.

  • J.J. Arcega-Whiteside: Let go by Atlanta

The Falcons released Arcega-Whiteside on Tuesday.

Arcega-Whiteside signed with the Falcons in May after spending most of the 2022 season on the Seahawks' practice squad. He hauled in six passes for 86 yards in three preseason games. He'll look for opportunities elsewhere once he clears waivers.

  • James Proche WR | TEN

James Proche: Let go by Baltimore

The Ravens waived Proche (hip) on Tuesday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.

Proche mustered just four catches for 34 yards and fumbled the ball once in three preseason games. He hasn't had that much impact since being drafted by the Ravens in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft and he'll look to prove himself elsewhere once he clears waivers.

  • Thayer Thomas WR | DEN

Thayer Thomas: Let go by Vikings

Thomas (concussion) was waived by the Vikings on Tuesday, Andrew Krammer of the Star Tribune reports.

Thomas exited Minnesota's preseason finale against the Cardinals with a concussion, and it is unclear if he has cleared the league's protocols yet. Regardless, the undrafted free agent was also assumed to be on the outside looking in when it came to making the 53-man roster. Still, it remains to be seen if he will receive an offer to land on the Vikings' practice squad.

  • Malik Heath WR | ATL

Packers' Malik Heath: Earns spot on 53-man roster

The Packers informed Heath on Tuesday that he's made the 53-man roster, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.

Heath joined the Packers as an undrafted free agent this offseason, and he made an impact over the team's three exhibition games. He secured 12 of 16 targets for 146 yards during the preseason and opened Saturday's preseason win over the Seahawks with the starters. He'll now attempt to carve out a role in Green Bay's offense once the regular season gets underway.

  • Brandon Smith WR | PIT

    Brandon Smith: Cut by Arizona

The Cardinals waived Smith on Tuesday, Bo Brack of GoPHNX.com reports.

Smith signed with the Cardinals in June after spending time in the XFL. While he didn't make the 53-man roster, it's possible he ends up on a practice squad for a second consecutive season.

  • Kearis Jackson WR | HOU

Titans' Kearis Jackson: Makes 53-man roster

Jackson was informed Tuesday that he's made the Titans' initial 53-man roster, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Jackson exited the Titans' second preseason game this year due to a knee injury, but he returned to action for the team's preseason finale and played 17 snaps on offense and seven on special teams. He secured his lone target for a 26-yard touchdown during the team's exhibition win over New England and should begin the 2023 campaign as a depth option at wide receiver.

  • Milton Wright WR | LAC

    Milton Wright: Cut by Bolts

The Chargers waived Wright on Tuesday.

Wright turned a late-July tryout opportunity with the Chargers into the full training camp experience. He always figured to be a long shot in terms of landing on the 53-man roster, but he clearly made an impression to last in camp as long as he did. The Purdue product recorded 732 yards and seven touchdowns on 57 receptions during his final collegiate season.

  • Panthers' Laviska Shenault: Progressing in concussion protocol

Coach Frank Reich said Tuesday that Shenault is progressing in the concussion protocol, Steve Reed of the Associated Press reports.

Shenault landed in the league's concussion protocol early last week but returned to practice in the red, no-contact jersey Tuesday. After making the Panthers' 53-man roster, Shenault will have a week and a half to recover before the team's regular-season opener in Atlanta on Sept. 10.

  • Ontaria Wilson WR | NYJ

Pokey Wilson: Does not make team

Wilson was waived by the Chargers on Tuesday.

Wilson signed with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent following the draft in April and was attempting to earn a depth receiver role. The rookie out of Florida State ultimately came up short, but it remains to be seen if he will catch an opportunity with LA's practice squad.
