  • Saints' Michael Thomas: Held without a catch for first time

Thomas failed to haul in his lone target during Sunday's 24-17 victory versus Chicago.

Thomas failed to catch a pass for the first time this season, as his targets fell behind not only fellow wideouts Chris Olave (eight) and Rashid Shaheed (three) but tight end Juwan Johnson (five) and running back Alvin Kamara (five). Thomas saw at least six targets in each of the first eight games of the season, so it's unlikely that he'll see such a moderate target share again moving forward. But he's still on pace for career lows in receiving yards per game (48.8) and catch percentage (61.3). New Orleans' passing game has also remained inefficient this season despite the addition of 32-year-old quarterback Derek Carr in the offseason. Expect Thomas to vie for fringe WR3 status in deeper fantasy leagues while providing minimal upside as a rather sporadic red-zone threat.

  • Rashid Shaheed WR | SEA

Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Catches three short passes Sunday

Shaheed reeled in all three targets for 22 yards during Sunday's 24-17 victory against the Bears.

Shaheed was targeted on three short passes by Derek Carr on Sunday. As a result, the 24-year-old wideout's longest play from scrimmage was a 12-yard reception early in the fourth quarter. The speedster's fantasy production is heavily tied to his explosiveness after the catch and as a downfield receiving threat. But New Orleans' passing offense has once again been limited this season despite the addition of Carr, as the 32-year-old is averaging just 6.7 yards per attempt through nine games. Shaheed has also received a somewhat inconsistent number of targets this season, seeing four or fewer targets in five of nine games. Moving forward, expect Shaheed to continue facing competition for downfield targets from No.1 wideout Chris Olave while Michael Thomas, tight end Juwan Johnson and running back Alvin Kamara all vie for short-yardage targets as well.

  • Chase Claypool WR | BUF

Dolphins' Chase Claypool: Not targeted in loss

Claypool was not targeted during Sunday's 21-14 loss to the Chiefs.

Claypool has secured one catch for three yards on two targets across three appearances with the Dolphins. He did, at least, reach a new high mark with 22 percent of offensive snaps played for Miami in Week 9. During the team's upcoming bye, Claypool will have an opportunity to get more familiar with the Dolphins' scheme. His next chance to increase his involvement will come Week 11 versus the Raiders.

  • DJ Turner WR | LV

DJ Turner: Back to practice squad

Turner reverted to the Raiders' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Turner was on the field for all 18 special-teams snaps while also participating on three offensive plays (five percent) in the Week 9 win over the Giants. He ultimately recorded one tackle on kick coverage. It remains to be seen if the special teamer will be called up again for Week 10.

  • Jonathan Mingo WR | DAL

Panthers' Jonathan Mingo: Only one grab

Mingo caught one of four targets for five yards in Sunday's 27-13 loss to the Colts.

Mingo played a career-high 70 offensive snaps, yet his production was the worst of his rookie year. Although he's immediately carved out a role as a complementary wideout, Mingo's stock is hurt by featuring in one of the league's least effective passing attacks.

  • James Proche WR | TEN

James Proche: Reverts to practice squad

Proche reverted to the Browns' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.

With David Bell (knee) inactive and Marquise Goodwin (concussion) exiting in the third quarter, Proche was the fourth receiving option for nearly half the game. He ultimately only saw six offensive snaps (eight percent), while also returning six punts for 55 yards on 10 special-teams snaps (45 percent). He will again be a candidate to be promoted to the active roster in Week 10 versus the Ravens.

  • Stanley Morgan WR | TEN

Stanley Morgan: Heads back to practice squad

Morgan reverted to Cincinnati's practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Morgan played 10 snaps in Week 9 versus Buffalo, all on special teams. The Bengals have two remaining standard elevations available to use on Morgan in 2023.

  • Damiere Byrd WR | BUF

Damiere Byrd: Heads back to practice squad

The Falcons reverted Byrd to their practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Byrd saw his first action of the season Sunday against Minnesota, getting two targets (neither of which he caught). His elevation ahead of that contest was a result of Drake London being held out due to a groin injury. Though London has a chance to return against Arizona in Week 10, Mack Hollins suffered an ankle injury versus the Vikings that has put his status for this Sunday in doubt. Should London and/or Hollins need to sit out this weekend, Byrd could be called upon again, though his role likely wouldn't be significant enough to warrant fantasy consideration.

  • Randall Cobb WR | NYJ

    Jets' Randall Cobb: Inactive Monday

Cobb (coach's decision) is inactive for Monday's night's game against the Chargers.

Cobb didn't carry an injury designation for the contest, and with the veteran pass catcher a healthy scratch Monday night, Garrett Wilson, Allen Lazard, Xavier Gipson, Irvin Charles and Malik Taylor are available to handle the Jets' Week 9 WR duties.

  • Jalen Guyton WR | LV

Chargers' Jalen Guyton: Back in action Monday

Guyton (knee) is listed as active for Monday night's game against the Jets, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.

Guyton was activated from the reserve/PUP list Sunday and is set to make his first appearance in a game since tearing his ACL in Week 3 of last season. In his return to the mix, he'll bolster the depth of a Chargers' wide receiver corps that will be without Joshua Palmer (knee), who is out at least four games after having landed on IR. While Keenan Allen and Quentin Johnston are slated to lead the unit while Palmer is out, Guyton will have a chance to compete for snaps behind the top duo with Derius Davis and Simi Fehoko. For now, however, Guyton remains a speculative fantasy option until his role in the offense is established.
