Jarrett secured both targets for 35 yards in the Buccaneers' 17-14 preseason win over the Bengals on Saturday night.

Jarrett was second on the Bucs in receiving yards on the night, slotting in just seven yards behind one of his primary competitors for a deep reserve receiver spot in Ryan Miller. Jarrett has the advantage of having appeared in 10 regular-season games as a rookie in 2023, but with Miller having recorded a team-high 42 receiving yards Saturday, Jarrett appears to have formidable competition on his hands.

Miller secured three of five targets for 42 yards in the Buccaneers' 17-14 preseason loss to the Bengals on Saturday night.

The second-year pro set the pace for the Buccaneers in receptions and receiving yards while sharing the team lead in targets. Miller was on the practice squad in 2023 but did log two snaps from scrimmage and 12 special-teams snaps in one regular-season game, and his current push to land a deep reserve receiver spot certainly got off to a strong start with Saturday's performance. However, Miller will have to continue standing out to have any chance of that occurring, considering he has formidable competition in the form of Rakim Jarrett, among others.

Johnson caught one of three targets for 11 yards during Sunday's 13-12 preseason victory against the Cowboys.

After spending nearly the entirety of the 2023 campaign on the Rams' practice squad, Johnson failed to make much of an impression in his 2024 preseason debut. Jordan Whittington (6-74-0) stole the show among the wide receivers who did start for the Rams, and he, along with Puka Nacua (knee), Cooper Kupp, Demarcus Robinson and Tutu Atwell seem like safe locks for the 53-man roster. The fifth-year pro Johnson, along with Xavier Smith, Drake Stoops, Sam Wiglusz and JJ Laap, will spend the rest of the preseason battling it out for one or two final roster spots, with the slight edge going to Johnson and Smith at the moment.

Smith caught all four targets for 20 yards and returned two kickoffs for 47 yards during Sunday's 13-12 preseason victory against the Cowboys.

Notably, Smith played in 76 percent of the snaps on offense, more than all but three other players. The second-year pro out of Florida A&M is firmly on the cut line for the final 53-man roster bubble, with Puka Nacua (Knee), Cooper Kupp, Demarcus Robinson, Tutu Atwell and Jordan Whittington all almost assured to secure a spot. Smith, Tyler Johnson, Drake Stoops, Sam Wiglusz and JJ Laap will be competing for what likely will be the final wide-receiver spot on the roster, as the Rams kept just six wide receivers on their initial 53-man roster in 2023. Smith's kick-returning ability could be the key in standing out from the crowd and making the cut.

Adams rejoined his teammates Sunday after the recent birth of his son, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports.

Adams missed the last five practices before he was absent from Saturday's preseason loss at Minnesota, according to coach Antonio Pierce. It's unclear if Adams will make an appearance during one of the Raiders' last two exhibitions, but the quarterback throwing him passes Week 1 and beyond seemingly will be known after Saturday's contest against the Cowboys. Pierce is expected to make a call between veteran Gardner Minshew and second-year pro Aidan O'Connell this weekend, but even with five different QBs targeting Adams in two campaigns in Las Vegas, he surpassed 1,100 yards on both occasions while recording 22 touchdowns in 34 regular-season games.

The Bills signed Byrd to a contract Monday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.

Byrd spent most of last season on Atlanta's practice squad, though he got into one game with the Falcons and logged 18 offensive snaps, recording zero catches on two targets. The veteran wideout's best NFL campaign came in 2020 with New England, when he caught 47 passes for 604 yards and a touchdown. Byrd also has experience as a kick and punt returner, though most of his work in that capacity came early in his career. He joins a Buffalo wide-receiver room that looks dramatically different than last season due to the departures of Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis.

The Chargers signed Wooden on Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Wooden was waived by Atlanta less than two weeks ago, and he's already found a new home with the Chargers. Los Angeles has one of the weaker wide receiver rooms in the league, so he presumably has as good or better a chance of earning reps as he would with any other squad.

The Texans waived Janke on Monday, Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Janke, who signed with the Texans as an undrafted free agent back in April, will now head to waivers. The 24-year-old will now look for another opportunity elsewhere.

The Lions waived Green (concussion) with an injury designation Monday.

Green was a seventh-round pick by Detroit in 2023, but he will now head to waivers. The 24-year-old will look to catch on with another team after he recovers from a concussion suffered during last week's preseason matchup versus the Giants.

Shakir caught all three targets for 28 yards during Saturday's 33-6 preseason loss to the Bears.

You will probably hear this nugget several times before fantasy drafts are over, but Shakir is the only wideout on the roster to ever catch a pass from Josh Allen. With Stefon Diggs off to Houston and Gabe Davis moving to the Jaguars, Shakir may be the best bet for fantasy production among the Buffalo wideout corps. However, rookie Keon Coleman is showing promise while veteran Curtis Samuel figures to see a number of touches in a jack-of-all-trades role, while running back James Cook and tight end Dalton Kincaid figure to factor in heavily in the passing game.
