Tonyan was added to the injury report Saturday with a back injury and is listed as questionable for Sunday's contest against the Packers.

The Bears elevated Stephen Carlson from the practice squad signaling something was amiss with the tight end personnel. Tonyan, an offseason addition for the Bears, was expected to be a key contributor alongside newly re-signed starter Cole Kmet, although the exact playing time split for the two tight ends wasn't clear. Expect Marcedes Lewis to come in as a blocking specialist in the event Tonyan is unable to play.

The Eagles re-signed Russell to their practice squad Friday.

Russell was released from the Eagles' practice squad Thursday, but the 25-year-old will now rejoin the organization just a day later. Russell will look to make an impression with the team after signing as an undrafted free agent in May.

Bushman reverted to Kansas City's practice squad Friday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Bushman played seven of the team's 65 offensive snaps during Thursday night's loss against Detroit, failing to record any stats. The 27-year-old was elevated to give Kansas City some tight end depth, as superstar Travis Kelce missed Thursday's game with a knee injury.

Bellinger could have an elevated role in the Giants offense Sunday against the Cowboys after Darren Waller (hamstring) was listed as questionable on the team's final Week 1 injury report, Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post reports.

Waller didn't even make an appearance on the report until Friday, when he was limited at practice. A decision on his availability may not be made revealed until 90 minutes before Sunday's 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff, and if Waller is sidelined Bellinger would be a decent enough option to pivot to with just two games remaining on the Week 1 slate. Bellinger started 11 of the 12 games in which he played as a rookie last season, accruing a 30-268-2 line on 35 targets. Lawrence Cager (ankle) is the other tight end on the Giants' active roster.

Andrews (quad) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Texans after being limited in practice this week.

With Andrews officially listed as questionable, the tight end's status will be worth tracking closely as Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff approaches. Look for added context regarding his Week 1 status to arrive late Saturday or early Sunday via national reporters such as Adam Schefter of ESPN and/or Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, but if Andrews is limited or out this weekend, Isaiah Likely would be in line for added snaps versus Houston.

Hill (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Chargers, Travis Wingfield of the Dolphins' official site reports.

The undrafted rookie out of Campbell made the 53-man roster after catching three passes for 31 yards on four targets in the preseason. He's buried on the depth chart behind Durham Smythe and Tyler Kroft and may not be active even if healthy.

Waller (hamstring) appears truly questionable for Sunday night against Dallas, with the Giants needing to see how he responds the next couple days after Friday's practice, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.

The Giants added Waller to their injury report at the end of the week, listing him as a limited practice participant Friday and questionable for the season opener Sunday. A Week 1 absence for the team's new tight end would leave Daniel Bellinger and Lawrence Cager (ankle) to handle TE snaps while likely pushing more of the targets to the wide receivers and RB Saquon Barkley. It sounds like a game-time decision is in play here, which wouldn't be ideal for fantasy managers, with the late kickoff being in primetime.

Kittle (groin) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at Pittsburgh, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.

The tight end has been limited at practice this week and could end up a game-time decision ahead of the 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff this Sunday. The 49ers have Charlie Woerner, Ross Dwelley and Brayden Willis for TE depth, but in fantasy terms there's more interest in how Kittle's potential absence (or reduced playing time) might push more targets towards WRs Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel and RB Christian McCaffrey.

Ertz (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at Washington, Bo Brack of GoPHNX.com reports.

Coach Jonathan Gannon suggested Friday morning that he wasn't sure about Ertz's availability, potentially setting up a game-time decision ahead of the 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff. If he's active, Ertz likely will share snaps and targets with 2022 second-round pick Trey McBride, whose fantasy value partially depends on how his 32-year-old teammate performs after suffering an ACL tear last year.

Cager (ankle) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's game versus the Cowboys, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Cager was listed as limited on all three of the Giants' Week 1 injury reports due to an ankle issue, but it won't impact his availability for the season opener. Meanwhile, Darren Waller, the team's top tight end, made an appearance on Friday's report with a hamstring concern that leaves him questionable for Sunday. If Waller ends up being limited or out this weekend, Cager and Daniel Bellinger figure to benefit considering the likely elevated snap counts for both players.
