Jaguars' Brenton Strange: Lining up in multiple roles
Strange said Thursday after the Jaguars' final mandatory minicamp practice that his second year in head coach Liam Coen's system feels "a lot less chaotic" despite being asked to line up in "a lot more positions," Garry Smits of the Jacksonville Florida Times-Union reports.
"It's just a lot of position changes for me," Strange said, "but I want that. It's a good responsibility to have." The 2023 second-round pick enters the final year of his rookie deal as Jacksonville's clear No. 1 tight end, despite the additions of rookies Nate Boerkircher and Tanner Koziol to a crowded room that also includes veterans Hunter Long and Quintin Morris. Jacksonville's offense figures to lean heavily on multi-TE formations in 2026, but Strange's versatility will help him remain productive even if targets are spread around at the position. He posted a career-best 46-540-3 receiving line in just 12 regular-season games last year and remains one of the league's better blocking tight ends. Though he's eligible for an extension, Strange said his "mind's not on that at all" Thursday when asked about contract talks.

Jaguars' Brenton Strange: Finishes with career high in yards
Strange finished the 2025 season with 46 catches for 540 yards and three touchdowns in 12 regular-season games.
Strange became the No. 1 tight end for the Jaguars in 2025 after Evan Engram signed with Denver in free agency. In his expanded role, Strange set a career high in receiving yards and touchdowns (540 yards and three touchdowns) despite missing five games due to a hip injury that landed him on injured reserve. The 25-year-old will look to build on his career season entering 2026.

Jaguars' Brenton Strange: Catches third TD
Strange recorded six receptions on six targets for 52 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 41-7 win over the Titans.
Strange tied for second on the team in targets with Jakobi Meyers and was one of the Jaguars' most effective pass catchers. He was particularly impactful on a possession early in the second quarter, when he recorded four catches for 33 yards -- including a seven-yard touchdown. Strange took a significant step forward in his third pro season, setting new career highs in receptions (46), yards (540) and touchdowns (three) despite playing in only 12 games. He should be a key target for Trevor Lawrence during the team's playoff run.

Jaguars' Brenton Strange: Posts 54 yards in Week 17 win
Strange caught three of five targets for 54 yards in Sunday's 23-17 win over the Colts.
Strange finished second on the team in receiving yards behind Parker Washington's 115. This was the third time Strange has reached 50 receiving yards in 11 appearances this season, and he has at least three catches in nine of those 11 games. He'll look to close out the regular season on a high note when the Jaguars try to clinch the AFC South in Week 18 against the Titans.
