  • Theo Johnson TE | NYG

Giants' Theo Johnson: Records best game as pro

Johnson caught all five of his targets for 48 yards in a 29-20 Week 5 win against the Seahawks on Sunday.

Johnson has worked as New York's starting tight end since the beginning of the season, but through four weeks he had only three catches (on eight targets) for 37 yards. The rookie exceeded his collective Weeks 1-4 reception and yardage totals in Week 5 on Sunday, finishing third on the Giants in targets, catches and receiving yards. His long gain was a 22-yard catch that set New York up in the red zone on a drive that finished with a Wan'Dale Robinson touchdown reception. Johnson's quiet first four games kept him off the fantasy radar, but managers in need of a tight end may want to keep an eye on him moving forward to see if Johnson can build upon Sunday's performance and establish further rapport with QB Daniel Jones.

  • Hunter Long TE | JAC

Rams' Hunter Long: Snags pair of targets

Long secured both of his targets for 16 yards during Sunday's 24-19 loss to the Packers.

While Long's 17 snaps on offense was a typical week of usage for the fourth-year tight end, the two catches marked his first two as a Ram. Starting tight end Colby Parkinson led the team with 13 targets, which he turned into seven catches for 52 yards. Fellow backup Davis Allen failed to secure his only target and was on the field for just three snaps, leaving Long as the primary backup to Parkinson heading into the Rams' Week 6 bye.

  • Charlie Kolar TE | LAC

Ravens' Charlie Kolar: Comes up big against Cincy

Kolar had three catches for 64 yards and a touchdown on four targets Sunday against the Bengals.

Kolar came up just shy of having two touchdowns, but he was chased down from behind at the tail end of a 55-yard gain to set up an eventual score for the Ravens. The third-year tight end did manage to cash in his first touchdown of the season and has shown a surprising knack for making big plays considering he burned the Cowboys for a 30-yard reception Week 3. Baltimore continues to roll with a deep rotation at tight end with Isaiah Likely and Mark Andrews still leading the way in terms of snaps, but Kolar is earning his keep when he's on the field. The Ravens host the Commanders in Week 6.

  • Armani Rogers TE | BUF

Armani Rogers: Joins Falcons' practice squad

The Falcons signed Rogers to their practice squad Monday, Terrin Waack of the Falcons' official site reports.

Rogers failed to make the Eagles' initial 53-man roster in late August, but it now appears he's found a home in Atlanta. The Ohio product most recently appeared in an NFL game with the Commanders in 2022, catching five of his six targets for 64 yards across 11 contests. Rogers could be elevated to Atlanta's active roster if the team's tight-end room faces injuries at any point this season.

  • Evan Engram TE | DEN

Jaguars' Evan Engram: Coach optimistic for Week 6

Coach Doug Pederson said Monday that he's optimistic Engram (hamstring) will be cleared to play Sunday against the Bears in London, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Engram hasn't played since injuring his hamstring in pregame warmups for Week 2, but last season's league leader in receptions among tight ends (114) is nearing a return. Brenton Strange has posted 120 receiving yards and two touchdowns over the last four games while filling in for Engram. If Pederson's optimism is backed up by full practice participation from Engram once the Jaguars begin their Week 6 preparation Wednesday, the tight end may be able to avoid the injury report altogether.

  • Will Mallory TE | IND

Colts' Will Mallory: Gets first reception of season

Mallory had one reception for seven yards on his only target in Sunday's loss at Jacksonville. It was his first reception this season.

After being inactive the first three games, Mallory's played the last two games. He played on 16 of the offense's 70 snaps and went out on 13 routes. The Colts continue to divide targets and snaps between up to four tight ends (Kylen Granson played 18 snaps, Mo Alie-Cox played 29, Drew Ogletree played 26). As long as the workload is that spread out, none will have viable fantasy value for most formats.

  • Colts' Drew Ogletree: Just one reception in loss

Ogletree had one reception for five yards on his only target in Sunday's loss at Jacksonville.

Ogletree played on 26 of the offense's 70 snaps and went out on nine routes. The Colts continue to divide targets and snaps between multiple tight ends (Kylen Granson played 18 snaps, Mo Alie-Cox played 29, and Will Mallory played 16). Alie-Cox caught a touchdown in the loss where Ogletree caught a touchdown Week 4. As long as the workload is divided between three or four tight ends, none will have viable fantasy value for most formats.

  • Mo Alie-Cox TE | IND

Colts' Mo Alie-Cox: Catches TD in loss

Alie-Cox had two receptions for 37 yards, including an 18-yard touchdown, in Sunday's loss at Jacksonville.

Alie-Cox didn't play more than usual (33% of the offense's snaps) but had a season-high four targets with Joe Flacco taking over at quarterback. He had three targets total through the first four games. While Alie-Cox could get more targets if Flacco remains the starter, he's not likely to see much more than the occasional red-zone target. Even then, the Colts still divide playing time and targets evenly between three tight ends.

  • Johnny Mundt TE | PHI

Vikings' Johnny Mundt: Two receptions in win

Mundt had two receptions for 31 yards on two targets in Sunday's win over the Jets in London.

Mundt was in the starting lineup in a two-tight end set and played in 38 of the offense's 73 snaps as the primary receiving tight end (Josh Oliver is almost exclusively a blocker). Mundt could see a reduced role as early as Week 7, considering T.J. Hockenson could return from a knee injury after Minnesota's upcoming bye week.

  • Luke Farrell TE | SF

Jaguars' Luke Farrell: Catches both targets

Farrell secured both targets for 17 yards during Sunday's 37-34 win over Indianapolis.

The 26-year-old once again served as Jacksonville's secondary tight end behind Brenton Strange as starter Evan Engram (hamstring) missed a fourth straight game. Farrell hasn't been fantasy-relevant even with Engram sidelined and has five receptions for 31 yards through five games this season.
