  • Hayden Hurst TE | LAC

Chargers' Hayden Hurst: Listed as questionable for Week 8

Hurst (groin) is listed as questionable for Sunday's 4:05 p.m. ET game against the Saints after logging limited practices Thursday and Friday.

Fellow TE Will Dissly (shoulder) also is listed as questionable after returning to a limited practice Friday. In the event that Dissly is sidelined and Hurst, who missed Monday's loss to the Cardinals, is active, Hurst could yield a degree of deep-league utility, but if both players are available, Hurst would be a speculative Week 8 lineup option.

  • Will Dissly TE | LAC

Chargers' Will Dissly: Questionable for Sunday

Dissly (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Sunday's 4:05 p.m. ET game against the Saints after returning to a limited practice Friday.

Meanwhile, fellow TE Hayden Hurst (groin) also is listed as questionable after logging limited sessions Thursday and Friday. In the Chargers' 17-15 loss to the Cardinals on Monday -- a game that Hurst missed -- Dissly caught eight of his 11 targets for 81 yards. On the heels of that effort, Dissly could merit deep league attention if he plays this weekend, but if Hurst also is available, neither player would be a high-percentage Week 8 lineup option.

  • Eagles' Grant Calcaterra: Another start likely awaits

Calcaterra is expected to serve as the Eagles' top pass-catching tight end in Sunday's game against the Bengals with Dallas Goedert (hamstring) ruled out for the contest.

With Goedert sitting out the Week 7 win over the Giants and missing most of the Week 6 win over the Browns with the hamstring injury, Calcaterra has taken on an expanded role. He's played at least 70 percent of the offensive snaps in both contests, combining for five receptions for 72 yards on five targets. With all of the Eagles' other key pass-catching options available, Calcaterra profiles as a tertiary target for quarterback Jalen Hurts and likely won't represent a bankable fantasy option Week 8.

  • Payne Durham TE | TB

Buccaneers' Payne Durham: Could play Sunday

Durham (calf) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Falcons.

Durham missed the Buccaneers' Week 7 loss to the Ravens due to a calf issue, but he was able to log a full practice session Friday, giving himself a chance to suit up Sunday. However, if Durham can't play through his calf issue in Week 8, expect Ko Kieft to serve as Tampa Bay's No. 2 tight end behind Cade Otton.

  • 49ers' George Kittle: Deemed questionable for Week 8

Kittle (foot) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Cowboys, Jennifer Lee Chan of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

After Kittle played 58 of the 49ers' 63 offensive snaps in this past Sunday's loss to the Chiefs, 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said that Kittle suffered a foot sprain in the contest and was considered day-to-day. Kittle sat out practice Wednesday, but he returned to the field Thursday as a limited participant. He again was limited Friday, and though he'll take a designation into the weekend, Kittle would seem to be more likely than not to play Sunday. In addition to Kittle, the 49ers are listing wideout Deebo Samuel (illness) as questionable, and both could be primed to fill major roles in the passing game for a 49ers squad that will be without running back Christian McCaffrey (Achilles) and wideouts Brandon Aiyuk (knee) and Jauan Jennings (hip).

  • T.J. Hockenson TE | MIN

Vikings' T.J. Hockenson: Activated from PUP list

Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell announced Friday that Hockenson (knee) has been activated from the reserve/PUP list.

In a corresponding move, Minnesota placed left tackle Christian Darrisaw (knee) on injured reserve to clear a spot on the 53-man roster for Hockenson. After suffering ACL and MCL tears last December and undergoing surgery on his right knee in January, Hockenson was sidelined for the start of the season before he was cleared to practice Oct. 4. With his 21-day evaluation window officially closing Friday, the Vikings added Hockenson back to the roster in anticipation that he'll be ready to make his 2024 debut Sunday, Nov. 3 versus the Colts. Considering that Hockenson hadn't advanced beyond limited participation since he resumed practicing earlier this month, he'll likely need to put in at least one full practice during the upcoming week before the Vikings officially clear him to play against Indianapolis.

  • Dallas Goedert TE | PHI

Eagles' Dallas Goedert: Ruled out for Week 8

Goedert (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's contest at Cincinnati.

Goedert thus will miss a second game in a row due to the strained hamstring that he suffered back in Week 6 against the Browns. Considering he hasn't practiced in the meantime, he likely will need to do so in some capacity in order to have a chance to return to action Week 9 versus the Jaguars. Grant Calcaterra will assume most of the TE reps in Goedert's stead this weekend.

  • Dawson Knox TE | BUF

Bills' Dawson Knox: Ready for Week 8

Knox (ankle) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's game in Seattle.

Knox didn't practice Wednesday due to an ankle injury, but he followed up the absence with a limited session Thursday before capping the week with full participation Friday. With fellow TE Dalton Kincaid (collarbone) also in the clear after an uncapped practice Friday, the Bills' top two options at the position will be available Sunday.

  • Dalton Kincaid TE | BUF

Bills' Dalton Kincaid: Clear for Sunday

Kincaid (collarbone) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's game at Seattle.

Kincaid opened Week 8 prep with back-to-back limited sessions due to a collarbone injury, but a full practice Friday has cleared him ahead of the weekend. Fellow TE Dawson Knox (ankle) also practiced fully to cap the week, so the Bills' top two options at the position will be available Sunday.

  • Rams' Colby Parkinson: Role reduces in victory

Parkinson caught both of his targets for 17 yards during Thursday's 30-20 win against the Vikings.

With Puka Nacua (knee) and Cooper Kupp (ankle) returning to action, Parkinson saw his second straight game with just a pair of targets. The returning duo commanded half of Matthew Stafford's 34 targets during the contest. The veteran tight end also saw his usage on offense dip to a season low, taking the field for only 46 of the team's 72 snaps on offense, while Hunter Long (30) and Davis Allen (28) saw their roles expand. The team that drafted Parkinson in the fourth round in 2020, the Seahawks, are up next in a pivotal division showdown Week 9.
